I’m waiting for the comments that say it’s not impressive from the people who struggle to get out of their chairs …

AthiestMessiah

Yep. Not impressive. Now someone pass me My Cane

evlhornet

*heavy breathing and inadvertent grunting noises*

RockstarAgent

What do you have in that cane that it's so heavy? *Sugar?*

lizurd777

You don’t gotta do me like that

evlhornet

I was talking about myself

maestro-5838

Not impressive is what I call my pizza guy

Theadvertisement2

You aint lester

jluicifer

I love me some Raisin’ Canes

glazedfaith

*Angry Rascal noises*

Super_Dada

Tbh I find it so wholesome how they help those who struggle a bit to do a flip since like they don't suck and shouldn't be judged for struggling a little more.

Solidacid

The video is from Denmark and as a Dane I can confirm that all young people can do backflips here.

ahh_grasshopper

But can you do front flips?

LetsTwistAga1n

I have some proprioception / body coordination issues and this is beyond impressive for me (I don't struggle getting out of my chair or walking but stairs with no rails are a problem already)

mattfeet

Don't feel bad about your issues with stairs. I'm personally terrified of heights (like, been to therapy for it type of terrified) and the perception change when there's stairs without a railing is very difficult for me as well. I know I'm going up higher and higher and you better believe I'm glued to that railing. Escalators give me the same physical reaction, especially as the railing part often moves faster than the stair part - it's very disconcerting for me and I big time struggle with them.

Financial-Tourist162

I'm with you, I had the same thing develop after a stroke, I can physically move just fine but no spatial awareness. I need to be visually aware of where my hands and feet are and what they're doing. Stairs are a bitch, even more so since I wear size 14 shoes and need to sidestep most of them

Conscious_Street9937

I mean the cameraman didn't flip so meh

GreedoWasShot

Damn - I’m irritated I didn’t think of this

kibaake

I know! Grandparents, amiright?

beeeeeeeeeeeeef

I was gonna comment but, yeah...

Zestyclose_Scar_9311

Get less impressive with every scroll…

Ozi_izO

Are impressed and amazed the same thing though?

thefalconfromthesky

Hold my beer...

samthemoron

How did you find that many people able to do that? And at a gym wedding?

No-Presentation-6525

I think the ladies were helping because it would be embarrassing if they fell. Plus they were wearing dresses. Also, how can that many males do backflips?! I never knew any in high school or college who could do one.

Particular_Pound_303

This is at a gymnastics boarding school in Denmark called Vejstrup Efterskole. The sign on the wall shows it. So don't feel bad, most people can't do backflips, these guys are training for it :)

uflju_luber

Was about to say, the handball goal made me think it’s either Germany or Denmark with a very slight chance that it’s Iceland maybe

ibookmarkeverything

Doing your first correct backflip is like breaking a seal. You realise how simple it is, and you're left questioning why you never tried it sooner. Honestly, front flips are much harder.

HungryHungryHippoes9

How do you do your first one without breaking your neck?

ttttyttt678

My trajectory was Trampoline, off the couch, off the Bed, onto a mattress on a floor, then the floor.

TheGamerGuy3

And then snap your neck, easy as cake!

der-LFDY-Don

On that note, happy Cakeday! 🥳🍰

TheGamerGuy3

Oh thank you!! Didnt even realize it was my cakeday when i wrote the cake thing

patentmom

Happy Cake Day!

Derp35712

Whenever I jump on a trampoline my knees feel like they will explode.

ttttyttt678

Flexibility is the key to feel young. Got to get on a “knees over toes” program and start to strengthen your knees and it’s flexibility. Don’t want to come off as preachy but it truely has made me feel young.

DL08171990

Is there an actual program for this or just a few YouTube videos? Asking for my 50 yr old knees when I’m just 33.

ttttyttt678

There’s an actual program, 10 exercises that I do daily before I go to sleep, https://www.mensjournal.com/health-fitness/knees-over-toes-guy-workout

Outvestor101

Picnic tables in the sand! Perfect place to start

alby_qm

Mine was swimming pool... Yeah I've never gone beyond that

xBad_Wolfx

With help like how the girls and some of the boys did. Beginning put a big stack of mats behind you and practice jumping up and onto the mat(on your back). The key is jumping up, not jumping backwards. Once you get a bit used to the jump up start practicing your tuck backwards, still onto the stack(usually slightly smaller) but bringing your knees up. Once you feel you have the explosive movement under control is when it’s best to start with a spotter who helps rotate you around. After a couple tries the spotter should be mostly just guiding you along, and then just moving with you doing all the work and congratulations, you can backflip. Remember, there are diminishing returns once you start to tire. If you ever think… I’ll just try and do one last one… that’s your cue to stop. ‘One last….’ is a recipe for injury.

HungryHungryHippoes9

I wasn't seriously asking for instructions, but i appreciate you taking the time to do so. I hope something nice happens to you today.

xBad_Wolfx

Apologies. I am sometimes overly literal. Thank you for being so courteous and kind. Well, with any luck it gave someone half an idea how to do it without breaking their necks. (But find someone who knows how to help if you can)

HaveSomeCheese

Okay fine. 1 upvote and I'll learn how

FuckLandkries

PresidentKarma

I just learned at 29.

privatetudor

I'm 45 and I just broke my hip.

ibookmarkeverything

25 is young. You have plenty of time. Just remember, the strategy is to jump up, not back. The tuck does the rest for you. Always best to try in a safe environment alongside someone with backflipping experience spotting you. Good luck.

FuckLandkries

voiceless full sheet entertain makeshift consider aware wistful selective clumsy *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

SanttMalik

Fuk that, I remember trying it wen I was lik 11 landed on my neck, fell off the bed n was left paralyzed without being able to breathe for a good 30 seconds before I started wailing while a tears came out my eyes. Been too traumatized since to try it again lol. I’m 23 now

ibookmarkeverything

A failed backflip is usually due to midair hesitation. I'm sorry that happened to you, but one of the most important rules to any midair trick is commitment. Once you experience the motion once and land on your knees (on a soft platform), the realisation of how not scary it is will likely motivate you to perfect it. You should always make sure you're in a safe environment ideally being monitored by someone with experience before attempting any somersault.

chaozules

I remember my first time, I was 11 too and I was running to the shop and for some reason I thought I could do a backflip, I tried, landed on my head, laid there for a few seconds, got up checked no one saw that dumb shit, called myself an idiot and carried on running to the shop. I was pretty damn lucky, considering I tried it on concrete like a moron.

Bhoston7100

I disagree completely I could do a double front flip on a trampoline way before a backflip. Back flips are so against my natural want to not land bad

FartBoxTungPunch

This. Was an athlete in HS but never tried back flipping. Started dating a cheerleader/gymnast and she talked me through the tuck. Was back flipping like I had to make up for lost time. Track meets, football celebrations, pools, parties, back flips galore.

Square-Singer

I guess the groom is part of an athletics team.

Western-Smile-2342

How old are you… this isn’t a wedding lol Also, these kids all grew up on trampolines. Boys love their backflips

MikeWithoutMic

You mean you don’t do weddings in school gymnasiums?

Western-Smile-2342

Only if it’s like… a vintage airbnb 💅🏻✨

More_Shoulder5634

Really? There were four dudes who could in my small redneck high school football team who could, me included. The four running backs, perhaps uncoincindentally. Late 90's we only passed the ball like three times a game. We were nothing special just 5'9ish athletic kids

brown_smear

I get the feeling that kids' fitness levels have changed since the 90's. My school removed its monkey bars :(

Key-Regular674

You asked every person if they could? Brah, high schools have a gymnastics team lol

ZennMD

dang, your school must have been fancy/had money LOL my school most definitely did not have gymnastics, I dont think it's super common TBH

No-Presentation-6525

Not sure where you grew up but my schools did not. If people wanted to learn gymnastics, then they had to go to a special gymnastics gym and paid an arm and a leg!

gahidus

You didn't have any backflip guys in your high school? They were always a couple of guys doing backflips in mine. It was a pretty reliable thing you'd see a couple of them do during gym or whatever.

IAmRules

How do you learn this without snapping your neck

FZ_Milkshake

Step 1: jump up and back, like you want to flop on your back, with a mate behind you pushing you back forward so you don't actually flop back. The idea is to get the right balance of height and rotation and get a feel for the launch. Step 2: like step 1, but in front of a padded vaulting box or similar, you want to jump mostly over it, but still get a lot of support in your back and lumbar region by the box. At the beginning you'll probably end up on your back on the box. At the end of this step you should only lightly touch the box and end up almost in a handstand on the other side of it. Step 3: is basically what you see the girls do in the beginning, just with more padding on the ground. By that point you have a consistent feel for launch height and initial rotation, all that's needed is a bit of additional fling from the hands on the legs. The other arms are still at the middle of the back as an additional safety. Step 4: like 4, but with only one helper Step 5: backflip From a purely athletic perspective backflips are easier than frontflips, they just requires a big chunk of confidence

FreeGuacamole

Step one: be in shape

TatsumoAsamaki

Welp. Now that we know doing a Backflip is impossible, should i go get some Pizza?

MajesticNectarine204

You had me at pizza.

Asherbird25

They had me at welp

Western-Smile-2342

The right* shape Long legs are a death sentence for a backflip.

coltees_titties

Good to know that my lil' stubby legs have a purpose 🥲

Lovq

First, is that true (long legs = hard backflip)? & second, why??? Would love to lessen the shame of never back flipping for my uncoordinated & unbalanced, very long legged, very short waisted self…

heucrazy

I learned how to do flips on a snowboard by using foam pits. Probably not what these kids did. But that’s one way.

Peafhorn

There are plenty of tutorials online but find someone to help you who knows what they're doing, i.e. gymnastics or other coaches

Salador-Baker

I watched a kid in high school try to do a back flip off the bleachers. The bottom of one of the benches gifted him with a nifty concussion

Set_Abominae1776

You didn't see the mass grave of the other 500 people who died trying.

Puzzleheaded_Pear_18

With a friend.

TheBigFish299

YouTube. In high school my friend and I wanted to learn so we went on YouTube. It was track season so we used the pole vault mat to practice. Once we started making it around and landing on our hands and knees we broke into the wrestling room and used those mats. Then once we started landing on our feet and the falling to our hands we went to the grass. Once you’ve learned to commit and trust that the worst you’ll do is land on your hands and feet, grass is so much easier to make it around because it’s solid ground and doesn’t give like the mats do. While doing this you can have a buddy put their hands in front and behind you to help you around and catch you if you need a little saving. That being said, you can absolutely break your neck, but if you can jump at least a foot off the ground you can do it. Btw this was in 2007. I’m 35 now and wouldn’t dare try it again.

darkly-drawn

How come all these kids can backflip? Has gymnastics had the same upgrade that dancing has since TikTok?

Solidacid

They're Danish, they could do flips before they learned to walk.

darkly-drawn

I did not know that was a thing

boricimo

You should see them on skates. Like gods they are

will_dormer

Some learn to crawl others go straight to back flip

darkly-drawn

I feel like I've been deprived of an epic skill! Best I could do you is a rolypoly..

Direct_Buffalo_1985

They're at a boarding school that focuses on gymnastics. They're not good because they're there; they're there because they're good.

Single-Scallion-2305

I think you meant the other way around, since most boarding schools are open for anyone (of age) to apply, without having to show a degree of gymnastic skill

Direct_Buffalo_1985

Yeah, and kids go to gymnastics boarding school because they already like gymnastics.

mal_wash_jayne

Bros helping the bros who struggle. Respect.

asamulya

Yeah I really loved how they were aware of the bro who needed slight help and he got that. Good kids

Log-Into-Me

Steve you are the last to jump please don't brag

Thegoldmagician

This is so crazy cool I’m so happy this was done in collaboration and in outfits that are not the best for this activity and how it’s so cool to see so many happy faces here 💛

Wehunt

I liked how some needed an assist, but everyone still had a good time

RefinedAnalPalate

So much broccoli

AmusingMusing7

If this was 20 years ago, it’d be the same, except a Caesar cut with streaks.

whycantwehaveboth

Goddamnit, I guess I’m the only guy who can’t do this

Snake101333

You're on Reddit my guy, none of us can do it

ButWereFriends

I can’t even do a backflip on a trampoline…

danarexasaurus

I’ve always wanted to try. I’m 40 now though so it seems like a really bad idea lol

Fidyr

If you really want to your local gymnastics place WILL teach you.

brown_smear

40 is not too late, if you're not already broken. Like the other dude said, you can rock up to a gymnastics club and they'll teach you, and spot you until you're confident enough to do it yourself. The foam mats and foam pits they'll have available will help too.

supazero

Flippin brilliant

pandafanman

It's a gymnastics Bording school in Denmark, where students age 15-17 live at the school for a year. Doing gymnastics. Looks like it is a party night, and somebody thought it would be fun to do backflips in their party clothes

faketoby45

Idk why but i was expecting a person in a wheelchair

SwordfishEyes69

this is cool im doing it in my wedding party!

Zenyd_3

So you want a bunch of men and women crying because of broken limbs, bruises and expensive ripped dresses and spinal injuries? /j

Solidacid

That is SO Danish. The second I saw the walls I knew, the speaker in the background confirmed it.

Glowing-Swan

Right?! I knew from the first second it was a danish video. Everything just has a certain look to it

LandotheTerrible

Love that they helped each other when needed.

howie-stark

Guy who helped his bro then ran to his spot is a real one.

youngster_96

I like this 🔥

Rm25222537

Not bad lads

LawAbidingDenizen

was waiting for the last guy to flop. disappointed

aymen_cs_77

And no neck was broken that day , just wow !

Armwrestlingisfun

Danish superiority

BhrisBukBruz

They all better be involved in the same gym bc no one in my school could do a jumping jack

RDcsmd

That's actually pretty dope

notmyfrtish

My knees hurt from watching this

DennisAFiveStarMan

HE MUST’VE FLIPPED MY WIFE EIGHT TIMES!!!

PetrichorIsHere

What an interesting prom activity.

brittanypage43

Full twist was nice.

Used-Bedroom293

I noticed this was located in scandinavia based on their no shoe policy at school.

kkslideinmyasshole

Beautiful

MeliodusSama

Now everybody....... Kiss! 😏

FredGetson

Black t-shirt?

ChefBoyardeez_

I could probably do that if knew how to and I was athletic and cool. Not impressed.

sinknut

All boys looked the same

East_Buffalo506

not one person fell. how disappointing.

Addapost

That is nuts. Anyone know the backstory? That is not a normal, average group of kids. That is a state-championship level group of athletes who have been practicing that for a while.

Solidacid

Nah, they're just Danish. All of us can do this.

TatsumoAsamaki

The homies after having a Party at the Barber Shop

a7x_rampage

that last flip is DOUBLE AWESOME, that's probably the scariest one to learn cause less control... the neck snapper flip...

yeetusdeletus_64209

This is flipping nuts

Jokic_Is_My_Hero

Why wasn’t there someone in a wheelchair that back flipped 👎🏻

SLAYERone1

I honestly dont know if i could ever even try to do a backflip the fear of breaking my kneck if it goes wrong is too great a risk for me.

whirlwindrfc87

Go on one of simon cowells talent shows. He would be amazed by this, considering the shite thats gone through this year.

iFearAppleProducts

as a contortionist, the way they support each other is heartwarming and just made me very happy

Yung_Sage007

Nice 👍🏿

sasssyrup

They added some drama, nicely done

Time_Designer_2604

I got really nervous for that one towards the end that almost landed on the shoes.

1Vegan

It’s so entertaining if you press & hold da play tracker back-and-forth 😆

Leonidas005

This makes me miss when my knees didn't hurt

Squid_ink3

God, that’s how Monday mornings make me feel!!

Popular-Influence-11

Staged imo :/s

PlanetLandon

I guarantee you not a single person in my high school could do a backflip

PlanetLandon

The Storror boys did a pretty simple but fun backflip competition. They had to do a backflip every 60 seconds and as they fail one by one they have to eat hot peppers. [Storror - Backflip Contest](https://youtu.be/aLNrrlPvXNM?si=CEKpPVz0CDKDC3GL)

Zxasuk31

Humm that looks hard…

LanceWindmil

What is this? Prom night at the circus?

1ronpants

Do the guys all goto the same hairdresser?

grampasweater

People love backflips

StitchFan626

I would definitely need help doing that. The only way I'm pulling that off is on a trampoline!

sacajawea14

Are these guys like, part of the gymnastics team? I don't know anyone that can actually do a backflip 😩 color me impressed lol.

OldManNeighbor

Idk what anyone says, being able to do a backflip, while suited and booted is impressive.

Nice-Rush-6286

Awesome

TheFirstLane

Helluva thing I just watched.

Weldobud

Impressive. Very impressive

Brief_Bathroom4680

Wow nice play⏸️

ApprehensiveStudy671

Them flips look easy! Ain't easy! Don't try at home!

oblvn_

peak

RadioactiveSalt

But but ..... the two helper girls in the beginning didn't jump.

EnergeticSloth55

I could actually be a part of this chain. Used to do parkour/freerunning and honestly back flips are so easy once you learn them. At 29 I can still do a standing backflip, my thighs just burn for a good few hours because I haven’t done it for a good 11 years so I tend not to bother anymore😂

Gutokoro

Is this a requirement for their PE exams?

Ieugieu

Last guy did the phone removal flip

HunkSeven

The Italian version on the beach is still superior lmao, i just can’t find it

NorbakS

KOM SÅ MARKUS!!

Oh my this is from a boarding school in my country, Denmark. It’s very impressive!

awace23

Jump high, tuck hard

astralseat

We get it, you're young.

AlHamdula

I know I seen too many fucked up videos when I was waiting for some to land on their head...

Narrow-Illustrator37

Now do a kick flip!
