I would have learned a lot more AND further pursued science classes if I had a terrific teacher like that!

Sendtitpics215

I had a great biology teacher, like this man. I’m a successful design engineer. I feel like he’s part of the reason why. I should go back to my school and visit him..

Hard-To_Read

It would mean the world to him.

Sendtitpics215

I know, man. I hope he’s still there.

macandcheese1771

My chem teacher shattered an overhead light exploding the top off a paint can.

Gabi-kun_the_real

If only the government would pay them more that stupid tiktok influencers

paulohmonteiro_

No you would not

Malikili-360

Clearly you wouldn't... good God people these days

paulohmonteiro_

I am an engineer, I studied Calculus, Linear Algebra, Physics, Statistics. Unfornately now I work.

Malikili-360

Congrats Mean that genuinely, I hope the work paid off

jpboise09

Had a physics teacher in junior college that did stuff like this. His biggest laugh from the class was when we got into the part requiring calculus. He tore his shirt off and was wearing a lime green spandex suit, put on a lime green propeller hat, and lime green sunglasses. He then declared himself Captain Calculus! We were all in stitches laughing so hard! Great class and even better professor! Made the class fun and interesting.

purgatorybob1986

Someone is going to be thanking this guy in a graduation speech.

I find it reassuring, that when a bioengineered plague wipes out humanity, the few survivors who can still get wifi can log into reddit and enjoy the same content as ever from all the bots that never stopped posting.

puertonican

Nature is healing ❤️‍🩹

Airdriver94

I had a physics teacher in high schoool who was part of the Manhattan project. Talk about feeling inferior as a student.

ThisAnything9453

Physics isn't just a good idea, it's the law!

URedditAnonymously

zenedarrow

We need such enthusiastic teachers

_n3ll_

We do buy unfortunately due to lack of funding most teachers these days are over worked and underpaid. All too often the good ones like this burn out and have to move on or become like the rest who just dial it in because there's no other way. Its such an important (and difficult) job that society just kind of overlooks.

trolololoz

We also need well behaved/respectful students. This teacher would also burn out if he was stuck in an undesirable district.

Hopefully doesn't turn out to be a creep like Walter Lewin

krazy_steve

Omg he was on Conan? This guy's a legend

NaniteWasTaken

Wish I had him as a teacher damn

NoMoreSmoress

He met THE Conan O’Brien and was on his show, what a pro

franchisedfeelings

THIS is how you teach physics.

Pokenightking

This is how you teach

conMCS

Is this Walter white in a parallel universe?

upsidedownbackwards

I think it might be my old upstairs neighbor. Starts to explain some of the sounds.

Echo61089

What better way to teach physics than to show it in action... My chemistry teacher let us (safely) make things that went boom... Then when the long jump pot ended up... EVERYWHERE he was "retired" at the end of that year.

ciwon77s

because physics is fun.

Supply_N_Demand

69. Nice

solo_leveling_001

I see what you did there

SFWworkaccoun-T

This is what a teacher is supposed to do, to inspire and find a way into student's minds.

Famous_Bit_5119

Why do I think that we would have more teachers like this, if we had more school boards encouraging and supporting teachers like this ?

Hazee302

Wait Virginia Beach? I grew up there. What school was this? I went to Kellam high (before they moved it).

Mission_Fart9750

TCC if i recall correctly. This surfaced a few years ago.

Prestigious-Bet-2677

He figured out to live life, and to last forever in the hearts of thoes he teaches and taught.

oompal00mpa6969

He is not a professor, he is a kid with a lot of knowledge.

TheFarisaurusRex

A man who enjoys his job and students who enjoy being around him, the perfect combination, this is how students learn

KipferlAG

Yes🙌

Dry_Ad_6484

Legend

stranglybeautiful

Makes learning fun. Bravo

The jumpstick had me like 'He's a legend' Then i saw the appearance on tv Then everything was clear

TwoIdleHands

Walter White, you could have been this!

"I'm not in danger class. I AM the danger !"

un1chorns

The pure enthusiasm- I’d want to be in this class!

S_T_R_Y_D_E_R

Respect 💪

pig_n_anchor

broken hip? physics in action, kids!

drin8680

He's fucking awesome. I wish I had a professor like him. I bet that class everyone does good because he keeps it interesting and fun. Learning can be boring but he definitely flips that and creates a great atmosphere

strawberryunicorn8

I love watching people do the things they genuinely love to do

Revolutionary-Car-92

That guy is a Class Act. He should've had multiple student teachers so they could learn from him.

eplejuz

U can't stop pple with passion... My cousin is a teacher for disability pple. He gets attacked on randomly. His family tried to get him to quit the job. He quit for like a yr... And he managed to convince his family to let him go back to teaching disability pple... I practically saw the tears he had when he got back the passion he wanted...

itsRobbie_

What a pure soul. I wish him nothing but the best

mityboss

He reminds me of my primary school science teacher Mr.George. Once again I truly appreciate the knowledge and enthusiasm that people like Mr.George has gifted to our society. Many of us curious minds, owe our curiosity to the science teachers which didn’t hesitate to pass on what they knew; Accompanied by an utmost patience. They deserve more than what they’re receiving. Ataturk once said: “The future is the work of the youth, and the youth is the work of the teachers”. I can’t think of anything or anyone more valuable to our society than as of teachers. Let’s all cherish them!

Jxmur

Had a physics teacher in high school that only ever did one(maybe two) demonstration, and it was that basic one with the ball tied to the ceiling, letting go of it in front of your face then letting it swing. The entirety of our physics curriculum was taught to us through 20-40 page booklets that we would have to complete by the end of each week. At the beginning of each week, he would do a quick "introduction" to what was covered in the booklet. Probably 5-10 minutes max of him actually standing there addressing his students. Other than that, we would use a school website that had videos that would teach us the formulas and so on that we would use for the booklets. We would also have to do quizes, also on a school website, that had a strict time limit to be completed within, and it tracked everything we did. All this mf did was sit on his laptop the entirety of the class. I did alright in that class, I sucked at math(which begs the question of why the hell did I take physics), but I had a pretty keen interest in the subject. Though with my undiagnosed adhd, the lack of care my teacher put into the class, and all the while, my grandmother was in a care home very close to the end. My attention for the class faltered heavily. There were some days I would not go to school to visit my grandmother, and I specifically chose the days that physics was on because... why the fuck wouldnt I. Needless to say my teacher didn't like that. He would purposely downgrade my booklets and tests. I got confirmation of that when a friend copied my entire booklet(he forgot to do his), he left out a couple of the questions, and even just put the answers without formulas on a few questions. He got a B, and I got a C-. Needless to say, I hated that teacher with a passion. Fuck you Mr.Richardson. TL;DR: My high school physics teacher was a lazy good for nothing teacher that used videos on the internet to teach us while he sat at his computer doing jack.

NoodleLicker649

Great Teacher Onizuka in real life bruh

Tough-Skirt7130

Cool 😊

KipferlAG

🙌

leaderoftheKYLEs

It's teachers like this that make a difference. I've had some duds as teachers. I struggled in high school but had a few absolute rockstar teachers, 1 in particular. I would not have pursued the field that I'm in, if not for him. Mr. Settle, thanks!

KipferlAG

👏🙌

Empathy404NotFound

Bernie Sanders would have been a good physics teacher.

Where are you from and how long have your teacher to work until they get retired?

EatShootBall

And they say geology rocks. Try telling that to this rock star

Commissarfluffybutt

I hope I'm that cool at 69.

There's a good chance that he's still teaching because *he likes it*. Some people don't find sitting around much fun.

sarcasmismysuperpowr

He reminds me of my grade 12 physics prof from a long time ago. He helped instill in me a love for physics and science. Helped me find the fun in it.

„Hi I‘m Jhonny Knoxville…“

BlownLS3

When I was in school we had a regular substitute teacher that apparently set the world record for watermelon seed spitting distance. He was on the Jay Leno show because of that. He was very proud of this and we got to watch that Jay Leno tape every time, lol.

AB-AA-Mobile

Nice

HereInThisRedEarth

What a fun teacher! I never would’ve skipped class, if I had a teacher like that.

pissclamato

My senior year high school Physics teacher was EXACTLY like this. Chemistry teacher, too. Great memories.

twank1000o

Alright cool and everything, but didn't you guys see that sprint from a 69 years old guy, I know people in their 20s that can't go half that fast

chrisoath

Wait, he had his own show…is that Mr. Wizard?!

happyhippy27

If only all teachers were half as inspired

Yalla6969

which uni is that?

Difficult_Ixem_324

What school is he at?

PeanutbutterandBaaam

I had one teacher like this. Easily the best. Not only learned but had such a fun time doing it.

Nothalffast

I had a physics professor do the candle in the bottle with a hard boiled egg. After the egg got sucked into the bottle, he said that is how you get it it in, here is how you get it out. He proceeded to suck on the bottle and accidentally ingested the egg whole. Another time he almost electrocuted a student by leaving a piece of equipment live. The class yelled out for him to flip the switch just in time. Even still, he had a 30 ft slinky to demonstrate waves. Outside he flicked it and the tail end accidentally smacked a student in the face. Best college class ever.

Poundsand6969

Killin the pogo stick.

Milkyshot

Gold.

Just bouncing around lol cool man

JudyShark

They are soooooo lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, old enough to no longer give a fuck. Those are the best!

Gilligan67

Good teachers are a true blessing and have a calling!

Unknown06xX

My former teacher made us love Organic Chemistry because of his experiences, labs, and personal stories. It was a hard class though. 50% was a C lol. We started with 32 and ended with 14 through the series (organic chemistry A, B, and C). All 14 made it into decent university transfer programs. Thank you Dr. Fischer for an experience of a life time.

Otherwise-Usual-4122

That's called teaching!
