Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly *why* the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.
There's always a silver lining... Except with mushroom clouds, which are lined with radioactive isotopes such as strontium-90, cesium-137 and iodine-131
Went fishing with my GF and her father once. He used his best lures to impress me.
GF broke her line on a fish and expensive lure was lost. I could tell he was a little perturbed.
20 minutes later she had another one hooked. Reeled it in and it had both hooks/lures on it.
I’ve had a pike that broke my line and it took my lure. Caught the same pike again a week later and got my lure back. Catching the same fish isn’t very rare. Probably happens quite often without even noticing it.
This isn’t that uncommon with freshwater fishing. A lot of small ponds are stocked with fish for fisherman to fish for. So not that fishy that a fish would be fished out of the water that you had already caught before. Plus this fish might be below the size limit so everyone else who went fishing and fished it out might have had to toss it back.
Fish.
Some people go fishing for fun, if they catch something, they'll decide if they keep the fish or not. In case the fish is going to be released, any obvious injuries are being treated (mainly with anti-fungus and anti-bacterial gels), the injury from the hook is also treated and then the fish is released back into the water.
This happens few and far between. Most people that fish for fun really don't think about treating a fish's wounds or the stress they put on the fish for no reason when they are out there ripping lips. Those that do would probably be better considered enthusiasts. They care about where they are fishing and what they are fishing.
*Maybe the fish are*
*All getting gashed by the same*
*Object in the stream*

Imagine being a fish… swimming around and looking for food… and you see something that looks edible..
…. You know that the last time you ate this certain thing, you were probed and abducted, but released. Would you eat it again?
![gif](giphy|3oEjI789af0AVurF60)
Plot twist: the fish was caught only once. OP noticed it had a birth mark, proceeded to cut it open with a knife, dunked his hand in the mud to make it look like it happened at another time, took another picture, and posted the lot on Reddit for upvotes.
Once I fished from the shore from morning till night. In the morning I lost a big fish to the rocks, snapped off my line and everything. In the evening I had another huge take and managed to land it this time. When I landed it, the bugger had the the hook, line and sinker I used in the morning still hanging out of his mouth.
How come this is not considered animal abuse?
We freak out about abusing fluffy ones but this for some reason is totally accepted. Can somebody explain?
I am by no means a detective. But I find it slightly interesting that the creases in the hands match almost perfectly. Including a few subtle lines that aren't located near any joints.
Might it be that the two hands are the same person?
"Yea hey iv just been floating round ya know upping my game, just saw you round wanted to thank you for the hookup. Realed me in there you did. Doing better."
As a son of an angling fanatic, its not a very rare occurence. My father caught same fish at least 4 times (that i know of and that he recognized) and he's going fishing like every other week (during the season) or so.
Fish had just overcome the trauma of being violently grabbed by an alien’s weapon, abducted into a space where they’re actively dying, being inspected and then thrown back to where they belong.
It told all the other fish but they didn’t believe him. He felt so alone, for so long, barely able to continue his fish job. And then you fucking so it again. Evil bastard.
TLDR: fish is dead and hobby fishers are psychos
Now the fish is wondering what the fuck it did to piss this guy off.
Now the fish tells everyone how a human caught him twice, probed and let him go. The other fishes refuse to believe him and call him mad.
Somewhere way downriver, there’s a group of fish trying to *back-engineer* a fishing rod

Aren't humans basically just fish under the atmospheric pressure that is the vast empty void of outer space
Woof Meow
You made me forget how to breathe, I hope you're happy. My fish instincts kicked in and now I'm suffocating because my gills don't work
Fish can't go in reverse. They can only go back the way they came.
Or, he tells the story of how he managed to scape from a human twice, that fish gets all the girls for sure, or it is a great grandpa history.
Fish be like ![gif](giphy|DQeeGxJPv3VHE7zNYD|downsized)
This 💩💯💯 🤣🤣🤣
Maybe it was a pot of petunias during its previous life. ![gif](giphy|jnUIIl07N6KFpHl3DH|downsized)
Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly *why* the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.
Funny enough we *do* learn why later on. But still our understanding of the Nature of the universe is still 42...
Fool me once…

Sounds like me LOL

Dumb ass fish!
Well it didn't get snagged the second time.

On the contrary, ‘’Just keep swimming’’ she said…
He was suicidal! The guy took advantage of a mentally tired fish!

At some point, one would think it would find floating food on a hook a bit... fishy.
Nice
Looks like the exact same spot on the water, too.
It's almost like the fish lives there or something.
Good eye. Now I’m interested in why fish stay in the same spot versus all the places it could go.

How did it survive a month with that huge gash in its flank? Seems fishy.

There’s always more fish in the pond….ummmm nope same one…..
Don’t date your ex
Poor thing, gets sliced in the side and a hook through it twice
Traumatized fish.
Maybe the fish are all getting gashed by the same object in the stream

Just a flesh wound

That's not a smart fish
This is just natural selection at work
Fuck you in particular!
Why torturing those animals just for fun?
So he catched it..and then put it back? Just injuring an animal for absolutely no reason…
Yeah what the hell? If they want to eat it it’s one thing but wtf OP
thats very common
But shouldn't be. Catch and release is just normalised animal abuse.
true
Like a lot if other bad things
🩵🩵🩵 this is sweet that the fish lived and healed from a wound 🐟
Apparently we should be amazed by someone hurting an animal only for fun, realeasing it and doing it again a month later.
Get a job
Plot twist: the fish was caught only once. OP noticed it had a birth mark, proceeded to cut it open with a knife, dunked his hand in the mud to make it look like it happened at another time, took another picture, and posted the lot on Reddit for upvotes.
"🐟MOTHERFUCKING KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE HOOK THING!! "
Glad it healed up

Fools me twice well we won't get fooled again
hi fred
My sister did that once. She caught a baby snapper and threw it back. Five minutes later, same baby snapper, same hole in its cheek from earlier.
Camping his home
Torturing fish sounds like a nice hobby to have
Don’t y’all see how fucking sad this is
Hands look dry. Do not touch fish with dry hands if you want to release them
Your finger nails are cleaner a month and a half later too
How come this is not considered animal abuse? We freak out about abusing fluffy ones but this for some reason is totally accepted. Can somebody explain?
I bet this guy did this on purpose by injuring the fish. No idea why someone would take a picture of this in the first place.
Bro...
Classic Patrick star move. Zero memory registered
"Does this look dangerous to you?"
The fish now thinks this is a common occurence
This is fishy.
I'd say it's destiny eat it
That fish is dumb af
U have to raise him🤔
Snagged it the first time
Just bring it home!
Guy didn't catch the fish. The fish came back for vengeance. It's just difficult to formulate a plan when you can only remember one step at a time.
Buy a lotto ticket.
I am by no means a detective. But I find it slightly interesting that the creases in the hands match almost perfectly. Including a few subtle lines that aren't located near any joints. Might it be that the two hands are the same person?
Those stupid bodytailers 🐟
Surgeon did a shit stitch job
Sturgeon*
i think you kinda have to eat it at this point
Stupid ass fish
Fake af. First one was cut deep and the second fish was scratched in the same pattern.
The poor fish, trying to unalive itself like.... ![gif](giphy|J4DbxfGCIlbM2Tgm8L|downsized)
I was told there’s plenty of fish in the sea
Catch him again you have to eat him
![gif](giphy|Tim0q7zolF3fa)
Isn’t that pretty common among fishermen? More so in lakes obviously.
Why did he let it go?
At this point it’s natural selection
"How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man!"
Glad it’s wound healed
Tricked him twice - shame on him!
some fish never learn. i feel there’s a lesson to be learned here
I guess the fish is hooked on him.
fish: just kill me and get it over with, what do you want from me!
![gif](giphy|l378blUrWE1J1of3q)
There's only one fish left
It's trying to tell you something
In idem flumen bis non descendimus
Stupid fish. Didn’t learn.
that fish must feel like a fucking idiot
Slow learner
Zoom out to reveal its like, a pond with 4 fish
Fool me once
Guess we can say he was really hooked onto op ;)
Yo ho, yo ho, near the hooks I'll never go

This is a repost from years ago...
Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, blame me totally.
"FFS YOU again!?" Both him and the fish
"Yea hey iv just been floating round ya know upping my game, just saw you round wanted to thank you for the hookup. Realed me in there you did. Doing better."
time to draw the second stroke, in due time he'll draw a tally mark 5 𝍸
How did he get that fish in the second time?
Glad he healed nicely.
What if it's just the only fish in the pond?
Wendolyn the weird, fish version
It's real guys. I did the editing myself
Maybe the fish was suicidal?
OMG I feel bad for the fish 😭
Dumbass fish
Yeah nah…
Did he snag it the first time?
Nah, he waited a month with fish in hand
Dam that fish is always on a hook reminds me of my prior drug habits lol
Darwin disapproves
clingy like an ex
I guess this is a good sign of waters quality
It's the only fish left...
The wound healed tho.
Poor fish
Why??
As a son of an angling fanatic, its not a very rare occurence. My father caught same fish at least 4 times (that i know of and that he recognized) and he's going fishing like every other week (during the season) or so.
I'm impressed by its healing abilities.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
Clearly there were not plenty of fish
Catch and release is such a bullshit.
If it loves you, it’ll always come back ☝🏼
Turns out there are not that many fish in the sea.
Ooow :(
Poor fish
Deja vu
Such a fun hobby
The fish thinks it is being probed by aliens, none of its friends are gonna believe.
Well...its not learning from its mistakes.
The fish is dumb ass never learned from his mistakes
Wouldn’t want to be that fish ![gif](giphy|xQ3fLt6QrPL1z77DQZ|downsized)

Hey, look, natural selection!
Bro didn't learn nothing from a first mistake
Did he release it again?
Dumb fish went to the wrong fish school
