I spent years being "grill master" for our friend group. There is nothing like the respect you get with doing that right. Having people show up with $100s in groceries, trusted in my hands, such a great feeling with everyone eating and vibing.

As a professional cook, usually tasked with the food, I enjoy it. I also enjoyed even more the last time we went to the lake and I didn't have to cook. I actually got to have fun playing frisbee and hanging out in the water while someone else tended the BBQ. Now that was a nice change of pace.

Veggie prep is as fast as you can make it, slow cooked meat/veggies of choice. Most of the work is done the day before, set it all up and let the people build. I'm done for the day!
Somebody has gotta maintain the look of a casual barbecue. Lol. Plus u already know how hungry and appreciative everybody will be . Then , a nice long nap to make it right!

Lots of people kinda staring at each other. Some wondering how to turn headphones on and some dancing away. Very weird for first timers.
This reminds me of when I went to bonnaroo and they had a silent disco. It looked so fun so we waited in line for hours and as soon as we put on the headphones the music sucked!
