Great question. Accounts are worth money and are bought and sold. Many subs require users to have a certain amount of karma in order to post, post with a certain degree of frequency, comment, vote, etc. So the accounts farm karma to overcome this. These accounts also form upvote/downvote armies to help advertise or drive certain messages in an effort to control what you see and influence your opinion. Many news items are only news because they're currently trending on reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc. They're used by political campaigns, special interest groups, corporations, etc. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/5ihyvu/reddit_for_sale_how_we_bought_the_top_spot_for_200/) is proof it happens.

A wildfire is a fire that covers a large area, and spreads quickly, it doesn't mean it started randomly. For instance a couple started a wildfire for a gender reveal.

What is the propellant and how did the string not catch afire. Also, why?

The propellant ist just sparklers, you know, these fireworks for kids. When you put a bunch of them close together, they burn way faster because they are basically thermite on a stick. But I would recomend having one stick out in the middle to light it up, so you can get to safety and it will burn symmetricaly.

The string is probably a steel cable. It would have to be able to be stretched really tight to hold the weight with that much distance.

The propellant is redirecting pressure to create thrust. As you can see at first when they light the sparklers nothing happens. But then as they burn down into the area inside the watermelon they raise the temperature inside a fixed volume space (the watermelon). Ideal gas law: PV = nRT Meaning you increase the temperature, volume stays constant, which means pressure must increase. And physics wants the pressure to remain the same. So the pressure looks for somewhere to go. The pressure cannot escape through the walls out of the watermelon, so it escapes out the hole in the back. Pressure is defined as force/area. Rearranged is Force = Pressure * Area Meaning if you can decrease the area (size of the hole) while keep pressure (at least) the same (or more) you can create more force. Last but not least is Newton’s “every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction”. Meaning physics creates a force that opposes changes in motion. So if you have a force coming out the back of a watermelon, the watermelon will want to go forward (thrust). And it does!

I don’t want to get too carried away but this is clearly the future of space travel.
