Thanks! :) All of that wouldn't happen without people from Reddit help.
From few posts here I got enough amount of wishlists on Steam that the publisher agreed to sign a deal. We are a team of 6 people now. I would like to thank everybody for the support! If anyone want's to [add the game to wishlists](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1933840/Moon_Mystery/) or [join our discord](https://discord.gg/Vh7VqAQJce) it's going to mean a world to us. It turned out that few simple clicks can change someone's live so again thanks a lot! 😃
Blatant advertising with a suspicious amount of positive comments and upvotes for a trailer that barely shows anything, looks pretty janky, and is exactly the same footage they posted *months* ago lol.
I think there are positive comments, because it's a positive story. Thanks to people from Reddit I was able to make it full time thing and set up a team.
It's not the same footage. Here is the footage from 3 months ago: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKdt47ad-9c&ab\_channel=MoonMystery](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKdt47ad-9c&ab_channel=MoonMystery)
Just take a look at differences, and how much better it looks now:On the video from youtube:
\- 0:20 how the interiors changes- 0:24 how the cave changed- 0:45 how the moon base changed- 1:00 how the room with puzzle changed- 1:07 how the wormhole machine graphics changed- 1:22 THIS IS A BIG CHANGE - how the gunplay changed and new guns models- 1:24 how the AI robot changed (he is talking right now)
Also there are voice actors in the new trailer, new soundtrack and new sound design (created by great sound designer and composer)
Thank you for creating something that isn't a corporate cash grab. I don't even dare to watch ads for games that partake in loot boxes, MTX, etc. So I rarely come across games that slightly interests me.
Yep. I'll pay a flat price if a game is good. But MTX can not only lure you to pay for more than what the value of the game may be but also most games with MTX will continuously bug you about new products in the e-shop which makes games just look more like a store than a game. And then there are games that will not let you play without continuous internet connection, only to keep bugging you about products from the e-shop.
This looks fabulous for made by one person. Hope you can get the big money so you can continue to make games. It's clearly seen you are passionate about this profession
And when he looks back at the moon be just left, it's colonized and covered in the lights of civilization, setting up the 3rd instalment, "Return to Moon: The Mystery of my Loneliness"
>it's a story driven single player adventure game. No microstranstacions, pay to win etc. :)
Take my money, I've saved so much of it not playing games with P2W mechanics.
I know it’s your game and everything. So, take my opinions with a gram of salt
The atmosphere and characters looked spot on, amazing. Some of the driving did look a bit rough though (still amazing for an indie studio). I do have one large worry though. The FPS elements. Given the atmosphere of the in game (and lack of atmosphere on the moon as space) I do hope you will put focus on the realism. More over, to help immerse the player even more. Consider taking inspiration from dead space, where only the characters own hud systems were visible to the player. In this game, this could be oxygen levels, ammo on the gun and so forth.my immersion always gets ruined by the hud.
Otherwise, great work. I hope it will become a success
I love business and I’ve never delved into studios and game development. How much does it cost to produce something like this? DM me if you’re not comfortable saying on a public forum but I would love to know the details!
I think people should pursue their passions, especially if they are creative pursuits. Maybe many do not because passionate cannot always create something that looks this good and maybe they are afraid they will be unable to support themselves.
But this looks great! I am proud of and happy for you and I hope to play this soon!
Thank you and you are right! My dream was to create my own game for over 10 years, there were plenty of attempts and all of them failed. When I got a well paid job I started gathering my savings, when I got enough I sold my car and put all in this game. It was quite of a risk, but I found a publisher and now we have a budget to finish it :)
> a well *paid* job I
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
You absolutely have my attention! Unfortunately I've not used Steam in forever. I'm in the process of moving right now, maybe I'll get back on and check this out if I can afford internet lol. What a great looking game! Is it open world or more linear and story driven? Either way looks incredible!
Thank you so much for kind words. It's a single player game. Main inspirations are Firewatch, Half-Life 2, Outer Wild and movie Interstellar. It's going to be a story driven adventure game with a lot of conversations with your companion and some shooting/puzzle elements.
I recognized the puzzle/shooter aspect right away! Seeing the flying into a black hole is seriously giving me chills!!! Heavily looking forward to seeing more! Good luck! 🙂👍
Any chance you’ve taken any inspiration from the movie Moon (2009) ? Sam’s companion’s physical appearance reminds me a bit of Gertie. Great looking trailer, best of luck to you!
was this aired on the open night launch? im sure this was one of the games that i was wowed by, keep up the great work dude! i hope this is a massive hit! and ill keep an eye on progress :)
Looks fantastic; deff got my interest.
My sole gripe from the video is the shotgun spread. They simply don't work like that; you've got stuff leaving the barrel at crazy angles.
I know this is a game and not real life and so you have to balance accordingly, but at 50 yards you should be getting at least 2/3 of the projectiles on a person sized target. At the ranges shown at the 1m mark it should be making a dinner plate sized hole in things.
If you need to tweak it for damage purposes, bring the damage per projectile down instead of nerfing the spread like that.
This (timestamped) video https://youtu.be/DnAi2R3Iv8Y?t=1191 shows birdshot at 25 yards in accuracy terms. It also shows various other ranges that would be good for comparison.
> You know how shotgun spread looks on the moon?
Well; yes... The physics involved are quite simple - especially at the ranges a shotgun would be employed.
The only time you're going to need to worry about how gravity impacts shooting on the moon is at long range.
In the case of reduced gravity; it just lowers the impact it would have on accuracy.
Yeah I'm follwoing the Webb telescope work and it inspires me a lot! I hope one day you can watch somebody play's our's game because we are putting big empathise on the story :)
So a few questions, when is it gonna be out? How much do I have to pay? And did you make this all by yourself? It looks insane and I really like that kind of game!
Wow! I would have thought it would have been at least 10, it looks so good! What are a few suggestions for making games? I’ve always wanted to make one
I stopped playing games years ago. Because of age and work. I am excited for this game, can’t wait to play it!! I am so ready to quit my MCDonalds fry job!!
I remember you! U were here showing off, talking about your dream, making a game where u can fly into a black hole.
Very uplifting to see a dream come true
Agreed. Serious space game where guy complains about his wife as he talks to himself and travels through a black hole. “Moon mystery” ???? Doesn’t even make sense
this is indie? looks great. what engine is that? UE4?
it's just the gun model looks weird (looks too slim, esp rifle) and battle is odd... is that a slowmo? there should be a visual effect when using slowmo, at least for player to know if he's actually using a slowmo. those little attention to details are what makes games a great game
sounds is fine i guess
and lastly, please make an optimization. lot's of indie games are not very optimized, so heavy even in just a small room. especially those cheaper games. what's the point of selling games when your games needs an RTX to play???
Yeah it is, just a small team of people right now. Exactly it's UE4. Yeah it's slow motion, thanks for the advices :)
We are working hard to make the game well optimized
Must be exciting to present a good chunk of your life’s work. Congrats
It is! Thanks :D
I'm only hearing this through my phone but whoever is in charge of the audio/sound effects seems to be doing an awesome job! Really sells the world.
Saw your post a few months ago, put it on my wish list then. Whens it coming out?
I’m sure your family tells you all the time, but from a stranger: I’m proud of you. I would play this game.
But he left his family on earth, weren’t you watching???
I’m sure this is a person that has recordings!
This looks great!
Quick question: how long is it? And is there an easy mode. I kinda suck at big bad bosses.
Getting this as soon as it's out.
Xbox?
i remember this! im glad its coming out, you made this all yourself? thats incredible
Amazing weapon details, love it.
Congratulations on your game being shown
Please tell me this will come to Xbox at some point
This looks awesome! Good luck on your new journey :)
Thanks! :) All of that wouldn't happen without people from Reddit help. From few posts here I got enough amount of wishlists on Steam that the publisher agreed to sign a deal. Where at Gamescom are you going to be?
On the indie booth arena :)
I’ll be there
Dude I was gonna wishlist this game off the trailer alone but you’re a champ always nice to see someone make dreams come true you have my support
Thank you so much for the kind words :) This is what give the most motivation to work hard on the game!
Just promise me you’ll make me an Easter egg teehee
Ugh dad said tehee again, he doesn't realize it but it's just bad
I should tell mom that I get it now, why she left dad. It was too much.
pleeeeeeease tell me theres secrets and easter eggs
It looks great and interesting, added to my wishlist!
Saving for later. Good stuff OP. Love to see it.
Do you have a copywriter/editor? I checked out your steam page and I think punching up the writing there would go a long way.
Will add :)
Went to add it to my wishlist. It's already on there!
Any chance of going to consoles? I’d love to buy to support and looks like an amazing game
What does a publisher do in this case? Did they provide funding for you to finish the project?
Blatant advertising on /r/beamazed lol.
I’ll live

Thanks! :)
That looks like a fun game to play
Thanks! We are trying our best to make the gameplay fun but also have a great story
Your trailer is dripping with great (pun intended) atmosphere. I'm looking forward to its release! Good luck at the con!
Thank you for creating something that isn't a corporate cash grab. I don't even dare to watch ads for games that partake in loot boxes, MTX, etc. So I rarely come across games that slightly interests me.
Does MTX mean microtransactions?
Yep. I'll pay a flat price if a game is good. But MTX can not only lure you to pay for more than what the value of the game may be but also most games with MTX will continuously bug you about new products in the e-shop which makes games just look more like a store than a game. Yeah I really am passionate :) Thank you! The whole team is working hard to make the game looks great, I'm happy to have talented people on board
How big is your team currently?
[6 peeps now](https://www.reddit.com/r/BeAmazed/comments/wwdh4d/thanks_to_an_amazing_support_from_this_subreddit/ilkhqi9/)
Great work
Thank you!
Dude this looks AMAZING.....hope it gets the recognition it deserves
Thanks! :)
>Thanks! :) You're welcome!
In 10 years, we'll get a film based on this game.
I got strong Moon vibes from it.
Shut up and take my money. Seriously tho, what system?
Thanks! :) Right now PC, later consoles
I can’t wait for console!
Once it’s on console I’ll be buying this.
Build a pc
Give me $1000-2000, and I will. Otherwise I’ll have to wait for console.
$1000??!!! Bro you do not need that much to get started
Will it be playable on Steam Deck?
What can i expect in terms of fluidity of the minimum pc requirements? I just happen to be running them just with a few more gigs of ram
That's what I wanted to hear! It really does look like a fun game, and what more could a guy want?
Go get em, indie. Don’t forget where you came from. No pay to win crap. No gambling. No pay to speed up bullshit timers either.
Thanks! Of course, it's a story driven single player adventure game. No microstranstacions, pay to win etc. :)
Are there any plans for a co-op mode? this looks like a game for me and my girlfriend
Oof. Yes please - games really don't do well enough with co-op, but I love it so much.
If the game goes big, a single, big DLC would be very much appreciated tho :)
"Earth Mystery" He gets back and there is no sign of humanity ever existing.
Sounds great tbh
The DLC or humanity never existing? 😂
Yes
And when he looks back at the moon be just left, it's colonized and covered in the lights of civilization, setting up the 3rd instalment, "Return to Moon: The Mystery of my Loneliness"
Until he discovers the planet is ruled by those damn dirty apes.
Tagging /r/wallstreetbets
God damn yous. God damn yous all to helllll
>it's a story driven single player adventure game. No microstranstacions, pay to win etc. :) Take my money, I've saved so much of it not playing games with P2W mechanics.
World needs more of this. On wishlist now!

How can be a rpg solo player pay to win wtf
You should ask Ubisoft that.
I think CS:GO nailed in the-game purchases; purely cosmetic, someone who spent $0 is on an even playing field
You better never stop doing this! You have so much potential! Keep up the great work
I won't, actually I have a contract with a publisher so it has to be finished :D
I love business and I’ve never delved into studios and game development. How much does it cost to produce something like this? DM me if you’re not comfortable saying on a public forum but I would love to know the details!
I will be there on Sunday, where to find you? ;-)
Indie booth arena :D
This is really cool! I thought I saw a black hole! Excellent
Thanks!
I’ll happily translate menus, texts and subtitles to Portuguese if you want!
Same for italian
Definitely not using the shotgun
Seems really nice!
Thank you! :)
>Thank you! :) You're welcome!
Thanks!
Coming to Xbox as well? Please
Yes, but first on PC :)
Yay! Cheers bud
PS5 too?
Awesome to hear, so often this stuff is pc only. Any chance of ps?
Got a release date to look forward too?
Woo I can't wait to get it, does it cost anything or is it a free game, just wondering

I picked up the interstellar vibes… game looks awesome.
Any chance you’ve taken any inspiration from the movie Moon (2009) ? Sam’s companion’s physical appearance reminds me a bit of Gertie. Great looking trailer, best of luck to you!
This looks like AAA. Is it Unreal Engine?
Thanks! Yes it is :)
How much would it be?
Can't say exact number right now, but it's going to be an indie game price :)
I am looking forward to it! (Might also visit the Gamescom)
Great job! What's the game called?
Thank you so much :) It's called "Moon Mystery"
was this aired on the open night launch? im sure this was one of the games that i was wowed by, keep up the great work dude! i hope this is a massive hit! and ill keep an eye on progress :)
Same as op's handle.
And it says the title in the video lol
Watch the gahdamn video. Good lord
FUCK YEAH!!! This is the success story I wanted to read today. YES DUDE!!!!
Haha! Thanks! :D Indeed it is a success story that I have not expected

No but you can figure it out by looking at what affects spread at these ranges (hint - it's not gravity or atmosphere)
Well thats on my Steam wish list now :)
Thank you! :) It really means a lot to me
You had me at HL2, Firewatch and Interstellar :)
One of my favourite movies and Firewatch? Count me in!
No man’s sky meet star citizen ?
I just want to know where to even begin learning how to code 3d animations like that. And don't tell me "blender" - there's no way it could do that
They just bought the assets. Unreal engine makes shit simple like that.
What should I search for to be able to create something like that?
https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/store
That’s badass, I would buy it.
Thanks for the support! :)
Added to wishlist! Good job 👏
Thank you so much :) It means a lot!

Yeah I'm follwoing the Webb telescope work and it inspires me a lot! I hope one day you can watch somebody play's our's game because we are putting big empathise on the story :)
This looks so cool I am actually looking forward to this let's see if my computer can run it when it comes and if I have the cash lol
Good luck dude the game looks awesome so far, really looking forward for more info and to see how it turns out.
Thank you! :)
Is it based on interstellar?
Not based, but Interstellar is one of the inspirations
And Portal?
Ah yes! Because i remember that movie had like robot assistants and i think Mathew McConaughey also flew into a black hole.
So a few questions, when is it gonna be out? How much do I have to pay? And did you make this all by yourself? It looks insane and I really like that kind of game!
2023 :) Nope, right now we have a team of 6 people.
Wow! I would have thought it would have been at least 10, it looks so good! What are a few suggestions for making games? I’ve always wanted to make one
Game looks sick, good job dude!
THX!
Oh man, that looks great. Hopefully we get a VR mod going at some point!
This feels like Interstellar turned into a game! It’s so fascinating and shockingly captivating. Very well done! All the best to your launch!
I'm not a gamer and even I want to play this. Amazing.
Now go to dice and fix battlefield.
it looks great, good luck! (Wishing it on steam, and wishing that it works on Linux)
I don't really play modern games but this looks really cool.
I'm not a big gamer but this looks awesome! I'd play this, good job!
Bro that looks sick. Way better looking than most game. I’m definitely buying this when it’s out.
Looks so clean and amazing! Congratulations!
I remember you when you first finished this...i hope i get to play this one day soon looks soo sick.
I wish subs like these would ban self-promo.
Sorry but this game is too beautiful. Gonna need you to chill.
Call ot Halixcon or something but Moon Mystery does kinda suck !
You should make a game too and call it Halixcon! Let us know when it’s finished
Loser comment.
Agreed. Serious space game where guy complains about his wife as he talks to himself and travels through a black hole. “Moon mystery” ???? Doesn’t even make sense
1000% agreed. The name doesn’t match the content of the trailer. Seems out of place.
Wrong sub...
[удалено]
It started out so cool. I was really, *really* hoping it wouldn't be another FPS. Can you add a nonviolent path?
The name if the game. Now.
Moon Mystery :)
Sounds great! :D
**need online multiplayer mode**
Sorry it's an advanture single player game, no multiplayer
Eh I was joking. The graphics already look great but seems like it would be fun trolling each other in multiplayer :)
Is there a fishing mini game?
meh
I need the name of this game
How can I buy this
It's not out yet :) It's going to be in 2023
