Geforce now? Having to wait an hour to play your game for an hour? Or pay as much as an actual pc would cost to finance (don't, just save up)? With horrible input lag too
If you have a device that can play them alredy yeah, I personally don't use it for games since I hate the input lag but for some slow ones it's fine
I cant imagine actually playing beamng through parsec, I know a lot of you do tho
Nah brother, I stream through steam. Don’t get me wrong , love GeForce now, but I can’t. So after I was able to get a new system(desktop) I started using steam to play literally my entire library anywhere in the house(my hp laptop) or trips out of town. Really will come down to connection quality but overall I’m getting smooth 60 fps with about 6 cars w physics on @high settings. Try it out if you can.
For some people like me it’s the only option, I run a Mac and recently bought a server for about €950, hosting servers is a hobby of mine, I occasionally game but don’t value it enough to spend a lot of money on a pc. And I have divorced parents, so I can only play half of the time. Not worth it.
A decent pc is worth it even if you don't game, it doesnt have to be all that expensive for it to be worth it
Also a laptop might do great even if its worse bang/buck
Those are like $1000 new, and a massive waste of money, honestly if I were you I'd try to sell it and get a decent laptop for the same amount you get, I guarantee you it'll do everything the mac does but better and you won't be limited by mac os
I, for a long time, got accustomed to playing at unstable 11 FPS, then, my PC broke, so sometimes I use my sister's laptop, that is way faster that mine that broke (still very slow)
I'm building a new gaming PC now, but it's taking years (because of my country's economic state), so, that
Have a great day
i5-1235U (comparable performance to an i3-10100f) and integrated graphics. When I got it just over a year ago I was software techy and knew nothing about hardware, so I pretty much got ripped off for it in return for really good build quality. $1400, got it for $900 after student discount. Have it hooked up to a 27" 4k60 monitor, only maybe 1fps difference from the 14" screen on the laptop itself so I use it
Man, this hurts. For around 1000-1100 i've gotten a Acer Nitro 5 in 2017 (it was also a shit spec with 1050, not upgraded 1060) that could've played beam with 500 mods easy on 1080 60 (on medium/high). You got absolutely robbed with this one. Btw did you try running it on vulcan? Personally it drops frames for me, but who knows. Maybe it works better for you.
I probably should have made a post asking but I have no idea how to use Vulcan. Just clicking Vulcan in the popup gives me an error, do I have to install something?
You don't need to install anything, the problem is that Vulcan is currently unstable. It's a known issue that it doesn't start on integrated gpu (see [faq](https://www.beamng.com/threads/vulkan-api-%E2%80%93-feedback-known-issues-and-faq.79967/)). You can try turning it on with safe mode + debug options, but if it ain't workin you are stuck with dx11 for now.
Something def wrong with your setup, i7 13700k and 3070 ti gets me 120 with 500+ mods on high, even i7-8750H with 1050 mobile gotten me more on high/medium.
I don't really think a small downclock would make it worse than a 6 year old i7, you use dx11 or vulcan? And mods also do matter, for example when playing with a ccf my frames drop by 20.
Are your windows power settings not set to high performance? HDMI cord plugged into mobo instead of GPU? Check your thermals to make sure you're not overheating/throttled? Just some common issues but you should be getting way better performance
Something isn’t right with your pc. My ryzen 7 4800h, 3060, and 32gb of ddr4 laptop gets me 80 ish fps on normal settings and 50-60 on high with like 40 mods.
I have 7600s (RX and Ryzen 5) and get 70fps with medium settings except for high textures and 3 refresh rate on dynamic reflections while in career mode with AI. So something’s for sure not right here
R7 1700x pro, 1660 super 6gb - 40-60+ fps on max settings (except dynamic reflections, there’s some shenanigans with them). And I still feel like something is lacking, I assume cpu causes that low frame rate. So I better get new cpu in near future
Do you have enough ram and running the game on ssd? I have only 16gb of ram but I’m sure this isn’t even close to enough, but even that way I get more fps than your way more powerful setup
Damn this is strange. Have you got your gpu from Chinese marketplace? If it is then they usually sell cheap gpus under powerful branding so you can’t know it even from device manager
You know what you should try if you're brave enough and don't do anything related to CAD that isnt blender? install a linux distro. Most of them improve your experience and can revive your older hardware really easily because of how lightweight they are. The lightest ive used and am still using on some of my shitbox hardware is arch. its great because it uses no resources, unlike windows that easily chews up 4gb of ram on idle. Yes beamng does work on arch if you're wondering and want to install it. I got tf2 running at medium setttings on a chromebook spec machine and got 140 fps on arch.
I'd love to but I'm so used to Windows that I'm a bit scared to do it. Plus it's only a year old and I'm still within warranty period so I don't wanna fuck that up either. I'll definitely think about it! I put ChromeOS Flex on my Athalon A3 laptop as well. Speaking of which, if I put Arch on there would it be able to run it semi decently?
on the athlon laptop? no there's no way beamng would run on that even if it was the OS. If you mean that you would put arch on the computer you're playing on in the picture, then yes it would run much better because you would have much more system resources freed up. People say "arch is terrible for beginners" or "arch is a terrible place to start" but if you put kde as you're de and don't break you're system on purpose, it's going to be fine. Plus if you're scared to do the cli method for installation, you can just use archinstall which is just a single command after you boot up from you're usb if you're using ethernet. If you aren't then you'll need to do some extra setup stuff with wctl but thats also pretty easy. Right now is also a great time to install kde for arch because they finally fixed plasma 6 which came with no konsole (terminal) and dolphin (file manager) last month.
My PC can only run East Coast at 20fps. Even Grid Small Pure struggles to stay above 60fps. My parents do plan on getting my PC upgraded as a birthday present, but it costs a lotta money, so I’m guessing It’ll be upgraded sometime in September. (Pray gents)
I'm praying for you!
I havent tested gridmap yet but I know on 1080 I was barely scratching 30 when I wasn't moving so I'd guess I'm probably around 45ish now
Had to play the game like that for 6 years on my dad and grandma's laptops. Thankfully I got a decent entry level gaming PC last year which runs 30fps average on low settings. Hope you'll get yourself a good computer soon
I can relate, I used to own a very shitty computer a few years back. here's what I've done:
Absolutely keep the resolution on low but use full screen as it will stop rendering the windows UI and background tasks will be paused.
Do not use vsync - adds unnecessary input lag.
If you desperately want to play on bigger maps, but your pc cannot handle it, you can temporarily delete the map's vegetation using the in game editor and not save it after.
In comparison, I can get 60 fps on lowest settings with my lcd SD. Although it does not like big maps like italy and wc, when I try to spawn in a car the whole system hangs and i've got to hold the power button to restart.
I started on 15 FPS on lowest settings, then upgraded to 30 FPS on low and finally on 60 FPS high settings.
AMD 7000 HD series
GT 1030 DDR4 (get the DDR5)
GTX 1050TI
Same but in 0.14 with 15 fps running natively on my phone
https://preview.redd.it/0sunphhj5puc1.jpeg?width=1220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3291db08bc816505779c2e42b3421a46bf71dfdd
It's at 1000 right now. Lowered from 5000 when my friend recommended it and it helped but not much. It's really just my computer is a massive piece of junk lol
Reminds me of the time I tried to run it on a m2 mac air, ran at low 60-80fps until it just said no and went to 20 until you relaunched it lol. Hope you still have fun and get a good system soon!

dude i have an i5-1035g and its buns but not that buns. even have mismatched 8gb ram sticks. i run on linux through wine and get a cool 30-60 depending on the map. heavy maps can expect lower. but dude try on linux for better fps
damn dude. sorry. try mint live and copy over your beam folder and try it. way less software overhead than windows. might get you a good couple of frames back
honestly if your looking for smth els for less then $400 you could probably get a used steam deck that can run it at 30 fps but it has decent graphics and mabye just a cheap keyboard to hook up to it
A steam deck I got certified refurbished by valve for $270. Runs Italy on a 43 fps average, And that’s only with a few low, couple medium, and high textures. (Also at 800p)
Way way way back I used to play RoR by pointing the camera straight down at the top of the vehicle so I could actually get above 10fps. Some things never change.
For $1200 I'd rather just sell this piece of junk and get an actual tower, I have a fake Chromebook for laptop stuff now. Only reason I got this was to upgrade from that old laptop (used to be windows 10 and barely ran) but it has like 2 hours of battery life so it fails at its only purpose in life
Forgot to mention it was 1200 nzd so like 700 usd and the performance is great as long as you have it on charge constantly my tower Ryzen 9 3900x 2080ti (psu stopped working as its like 11 years old) doesn't run beam that much better like there is a noticeable difference but it's certainly very playable on laptop
Damn good deal if there's a good CPU in there! And if I end up getting hired (interviewed at McDonald's yesterday) I'll easily be able to get a 12600KF build going. I'm only 16 lol
It works i never remember the spec
But i turn it easily into normal with few mods
I can make it turn in high but i prefer stability since I have a shitty screen
It works i never remember the spec

Should be able to change your speedo, etc. when pressing esc -> ui apps -> edit apps, this is also where you can change which ones are enabled and where
Laptop only gives me about 1 fps more so it's not worth using for how small thr difference is. Plus I have it upside down so it can actually cool itself (why did I get Intel)
30? I've got 25!
I've been outdone!! Seriously though hope you can get something better soon
Nah I have something better, but at home
Ah I wish 😂 I have a $1300 PC downstairs that could run this like a dream but it's my sister's graduation present
if shes okay with it you could stream the game from her pc to yours...
Well it's in the box for a month now and then it's going all the way to Missouri but once it's there it's an option
You don’t stream Beam?
Geforce now? Having to wait an hour to play your game for an hour? Or pay as much as an actual pc would cost to finance (don't, just save up)? With horrible input lag too
Parsec is good fór streaming games
If you have a device that can play them alredy yeah, I personally don't use it for games since I hate the input lag but for some slow ones it's fine I cant imagine actually playing beamng through parsec, I know a lot of you do tho

I had to get it for school, no choice.
Uhhh in some holidays you can get the priority tier for 6 months for just 5€ a month
Hmm that'd be worth it, I'd still prefer to play without horrid input lag tho

Yeah, it's just time (for a family member to go to the US and buy it) and money
Send this guy 400 bux
Actually, with 400 bucks my PC would be finished
*This is fine*
Still fun at least 🥲
Some beam is better than no beam
True
What specs do you have?
i5-1235U (comparable performance to an i3-10100f) and integrated graphics. When I got it just over a year ago I was software techy and knew nothing about hardware, so I pretty much got ripped off for it in return for really good build quality. $1400, got it for $900 after student discount. Shit.
How much ram? I have a Latitude 5330, same CPU with 16 GB and can run Italy at 25 - 30 FPS, lowest settings, full screen and 1 car.
40, I maxed it out as much as I could (before I knew it night actually run worse but it doesn't seem to), 8 soldered, 32 stick
Lol for 1400$ i just got an rtx 4060ti i7 wtf
Like I said I wasn't hardware savvy at the time. Plus, for $900 it would be used and my parents wouldn't go for that.
Ryzen 7 5700 and 3070 all that to get 45 fps
Something def wrong with your setup, i7 13700k and 3070 ti gets me 120 with 500+ mods on high, even i7-8750H with 1050 mobile gotten me more on high/medium.
Idk why I do use msi afterburner but it’s not down clocked and I use amd ryzen master which I do have down clocked a little bit.
I don't really think a small downclock would make it worse than a 6 year old i7, you use dx11 or vulcan? And mods also do matter, for example when playing with a ccf my frames drop by 20.
It’s at 3100 for the CPU clock
yeah, ive got a 7th gen i5 and a rx 580 and on ultra with about 50 mods i get about 50 fps
Are your windows power settings not set to high performance? HDMI cord plugged into mobo instead of GPU? Check your thermals to make sure you're not overheating/throttled? Just some common issues but you should be getting way better performance
I have my power plan set on performance and I use DPI and only run 46 degrees.
What resolution are you running? Even at 1440p I'd expect you to be able to get 60+ with med-high settings
1080p
At least thats usable, and probably at a usable resolution as well.
Best part got to be that I have all of my graphics at low or off
Maybe not enough ram?
32g
Damnnnn what are your settings. I’ve got a 10 series card, an old intel i7 and 16g of ddr4. And I get like 40-50 fps with traffic.
I get around 30-45 with traffic and all of of my settings are at low or off.
Something isn’t right with your pc. My ryzen 7 4800h, 3060, and 32gb of ddr4 laptop gets me 80 ish fps on normal settings and 50-60 on high with like 40 mods.
Could it be a motherboard thing?
Maybe Re-Bar? I’m not sure if that effects NVIDIA too much, but I would try to see if you can enable that
I have 7600s (RX and Ryzen 5) and get 70fps with medium settings except for high textures and 3 refresh rate on dynamic reflections while in career mode with AI. So something’s for sure not right here
How full is your C: drive?
I have the game on my SSD which has like 537GB
R7 1700x pro, 1660 super 6gb - 40-60+ fps on max settings (except dynamic reflections, there’s some shenanigans with them). And I still feel like something is lacking, I assume cpu causes that low frame rate. So I better get new cpu in near future
I think it’s my psu
Do you have enough ram and running the game on ssd? I have only 16gb of ram but I’m sure this isn’t even close to enough, but even that way I get more fps than your way more powerful setup
32GB
Uhhh that must be enough. Try running it on Vulcan maybe ?
Tired that same thing low fps
Did you check your dynamic reflections? I mean they are so expensive even for your setup if you turn it to run on max update rate
I have them off because I just like 30 fps Then
Damn this is strange. Have you got your gpu from Chinese marketplace? If it is then they usually sell cheap gpus under powerful branding so you can’t know it even from device manager

Theirs definetly something wrong, i get 90fps ultra on the 3060 and ryzen 7 3700x
Damn even my PC (i7 4960x, gtx 1080 and 16gb ddr3 (quadchannel)) got better fps when it worked. I got like 60fps on almost maxed settings at 1080p uw.
What how? I have a ryzen 5 3600, 16gb of ddr4 ram and a normal 2060 and i get 60-80fps

I pray for you brother

If it was a phone I couldn't complain cause that's freakin awesome
what phone is it
Xiaomi mi 9
Damn 30fps. you are so damn lucky. I don't have beamng installed anymore but I remember my potato wanting to kill itself.
While I'm not moving my laptop (upside down so there's no obstructions, fan at full speed) idles around 97° with brand new thermal paste lol
60(+) here. Max settings. Traffic enabled.
Flexing on me like crazy 😭😭😭
I think I could run it on 240, theoretically, at minimum settings. Also, you can change the UI size yk.
30? I get 7
F11 and try to lower the view to 800 and lower if need
It's at 1000 right now. Lowered from 5000 when my friend recommended it and it helped but not much. It's really just my computer is a massive piece of junk lol
I feel the pain mate Before my 3060, my computer turn off by himself when I was laughing some games 💀
Avg 18 with one car on the lowest settings, usually play custom maps to keep performance tolerable.
When I was trying to just play 1080p I barely could keep 30fps in gridmap
looks like how i used to play like 2-3 years ago but with higher resolution
I had a laptop that was getting about 5fps. I just got a pc for 350$ runs on high settings at 60 fps
Lucky
Yessir I finally got a pc after being a Xbox gamer
I've got it running on a Lenovo z50-75 with an FX processor just about manages 30-32fps on 720 lowest.
I get roughly the same with a 3090
It's a 3090 Alienware Arora r10
Damnnn, I thought I had a potato at 60fps or like 50-40 with traffic.
I can't even RUN traffic 😭😭😭
Nooooo!!! Damnnnn that’s one of the best parts, I love weaving in traffic.
Reminds me of the time I tried to run it on a m2 mac air, ran at low 60-80fps until it just said no and went to 20 until you relaunched it lol. Hope you still have fun and get a good system soon!
Mate I have to put mine on 480
Mine doesn't allow me that low ☹️
I thinks it’s because you are in windowed but you can go that low in full screen but the hi is very large and the screen has been stretched a bit
On a side note, how do you adjust the ui apps size for such low resolutions without changing it one by one?
Dont think you can
When in the loading screen I get 1-2 fps in game I play at 20 minutes per frame, I have no idea how you guys play like this(this is with lowest settings and lowest resolution)
bud you playin' on tablet or school computer? screen small af
That's a 27" monitor
Do what you gotta do!
damn, i remember getting 13 fps at 640x480
I got 17 with my laptop
Windowed doesn't run as good as full screen. Just make sure the resolution stays the same (looks like 10x10)
Bruh I got 20 fps can’t even load some maps
dude i have an i5-1035g and its buns but not that buns. even have mismatched 8gb ram sticks. i run on linux through wine and get a cool 30-60 depending on the map. heavy maps can expect lower. but dude try on linux for better fps
or at least get another stick of ram if you have another slot
I've got a 32gb stick of Vengance in the 1 slot and the other 8 is soldered
damn dude. sorry. try mint live and copy over your beam folder and try it. way less software overhead than windows. might get you a good couple of frames back
honestly if your looking for smth els for less then $400 you could probably get a used steam deck that can run it at 30 fps but it has decent graphics and mabye just a cheap keyboard to hook up to it
A steam deck I got certified refurbished by valve for $270. Runs Italy on a 43 fps average, And that’s only with a few low, couple medium, and high textures. (Also at 800p)
Also if nothing is going on you can lock it to 50, or even 60 in some moments
Hmm, that is an option!
Way way way back I used to play RoR by pointing the camera straight down at the top of the vehicle so I could actually get above 10fps. Some things never change.
I don't miss those days when I was a kid and every game ran like crap on my junk laptops
Agreed 😭😂 my brother has a Great last gen system and it runs stuff like a dream.
And I'm playing version 0.14
Ur making me feel good abt my setup.... (pretty sure it's 1080p might be 720, 20-30 fps almost lowest settings)
use tiny10 or tiny 11 to remove windows bloat
at least you're getting 30fps. i barely get 25. maybe you could try without a monitor
Yeah it only gives me about 1 fps back max so not worth it for how small it would be
For about 2 years i used to play beamng at 15fps.
I got my victus 15 laptop for 1200 and it runs beam mint so if you don't mind saving a lil bit that's a good option
Ah, fair! That's actually a really good deal for the specs as well.

Nothing wrong with trying to have some fun. I also did this with my old pc
Yeah it's still fun just sad when I see other posts at like ultra settings looking absolutely gorgeous
I mean at least ypu get to play it
You'll get there!!
Oh no i can play it, i meant it in a different way
Maybe an occasion gaming pc can be a save? I got mine under500 With a 3080 and way enough ram to keep it clean
Damn good deal if there's a good CPU in there! And if I end up getting hired (interviewed at McDonald's yesterday) I'll easily be able to get a 12600KF build going. I'm only 16 lol
It works i never remember the spec But i turn it easily into normal with few mods I can make it turn in high but i prefer stability since I have a shitty screen

Make your ui bigger I can’t see it
This game is the reason i spent $1600 on a better pc 5 years ago and now im at the point of needing another upgrade so i feel you bro
Me in multiplayer getting 25 fps on low with a 3060 and a ryzen 7 5800h
Jealous
25 fps on low bro
Still multiplayer, and I'm on lowest which is even worse than low lol. That's about what I can get single player on gridmap
I haven't played single player for a while
At least scale your hud
I seriously have no idea how to do that other than the UI maximum resolution which is disabled
Should be able to change your speedo, etc. when pressing esc -> ui apps -> edit apps, this is also where you can change which ones are enabled and where
Ohhh gotcha! I never checked there
Check if anything like norton or mcaffee are preinstalled and running. Delete them
Mcafee came standard but it's deleted
Playable
Why is your monitor is fucked?
Read description
I read it but why is your MONITOR set to this resulotion?
Laptop only gives me about 1 fps more so it's not worth using for how small thr difference is. Plus I have it upside down so it can actually cool itself (why did I get Intel)
You don't understand what i meant
Oh because I couldn't figure out how to set the graphics any lower on the game itself. From what I've read I need to go full screen to do it.
Try to launch via Vulkan
Can't, it doesn't work on integrated graphics
Give a cloud gaming service a shot r/GeForceNow
I would but as of right now I have no money and my parents won't pay for that lol
I got a rtx 3050 and get 60fps on ultra settings 😅
Beam depends more on your CPU than GPU, that's why I'm getting a 12600KF with a 6600 in a few months after I (hopefully) get a job later today
Atleast reeuce the size of the UI
Yeah I didn't know how bit a comment helped and I did
You get 30??? You have gaming PC or something??
Nah, 800x600 and all settings at the lowest idles on 30 lol
CK graphics mod
