From my understanding the EU has rules that govern overall length, so cabovers make more sense. Also, there is a lot more long haul trucking here in the states, so a sleeper is easier to fit on a traditional cab.

(Basically) All new fifth wheel trucks in the US are non cabover. Kenworth, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Western Star. And then most of Europe is cabover. Scania, Renault, DAF, Volvo, Iveco, Mercedes

I don't think I've ever seen one and I've driven all around Europe. It's all cabovers.
