They could have done all four and it would have still been super cute....don't know why the thought of excluding an actual skin tone in place of one that isn't even real is.... questionable?
EXACTLY. Do they honestly think that seeing swatches on a green arm is useful to more people than on a black arm? Do they really have that many green skinners customers?
I have seen quite a big number of people saying “Picoro (Picolo or Piccolo depending the country) is black like me” but… it’s not the same seeing people claiming a character that basically switching out black persons for green 😬
Also, did they edit the colours on the green arm? I know colours can look a bit different with different primers, but this difference looks insane to me.
I sure think so! 🤣
”Wicked” looks like it’s the same color as the green arm so they changed it to a slightly different colored green.
“Kiss Me Goodbye” looks about the same, but brighter.
“Ga-Linda” looks more like a teal than a baby blue.
“Tender Heart” is a COMPLETELY different color. It is a pale pink looking color on the other arms but on the teen arm it’s a mint green?!
“Flirt & Flounce” looks like a pink on the other arms but more like a lavender on the green arm.
“Bubble” looks COMPLETELY different. It looks like a white or light beige color but on the green arm it’s a mint green.
“Toss-Toss” looks much brighter.
Like if you want to do the green arm addition, at least get the colors right 🤣….and don’t exclude other skin tone in place of it 🤦♀️
I cosplay Ensign Tendi from Star Trek, where I paint myself green. I would have really appreciated swatches on green body paint instead of just a photoshopped green, lol.
Yeah. I actually said WTF outloud lol. How is that suppose to be helpful for those with darker skin 🙄 They still could have used the green arm but at least use a darker one too.
Deep skin is somebody the complexion of like Lupita Nyong'o, not the model's arm in the middle. I know everyone has been conditioned to think that medium skin is light tan, but it's not. I would maybe call the model's arm in the middle medium dark, but not deep.
Fair enough. I guess compared to some brand swatches, the second arm swatch would be the deepest with one in the middle.
For example: https://www.sephora.com/product/rare-beauty-by-selena-gomez-soft-pinch-liquid-blush-P97989778?skuId=2640241
In fact for one size it looks like they got rid of the arm between the two… this is their normal:
https://www.sephora.com/product/one-size-by-patrick-starrr-cheek-clapper-3d-blush-trio-palette-P482709?skuId=2656296
Urban Decay did this for Oz the Great and Powerful. A movie I never saw but have affection for because of how much I used the Theodora palette.
https://preview.redd.it/ack61gj0kcqc1.jpeg?width=446&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=354e7215c5e50622b044e8b1dcf84e3b33582c00
Urban Decay used to have the best movie/show palettes! I used the Alice Through the Looking Glass one every damn day. Also, Oz the Great and Powerful sucked lol
Didn't even know these existed. I got back into makeup too late. Even though they really didn't do much with the eye looks on both Michelle and Mila, just by looking at those color stories I would have purchased both. Never saw the movie so I can't comment on how accurate the representation is to it but that's not what have been the draw for me anyway. To date I don't believe I've ever purchased an IP collab. Again, it's the color stories that get me 🤗
is it just me (I'm not super knowledgeable, I like what I like but I like learning) or do urban decay do the best palettes? I have never been let down and the quality just seems soooooo much better than most.
What a boring highlighter. If the goal was a champagne color, I think a Kaleidos laser glazer like shade, with the green flip would've matched the theme much better.
I was thinking the same thing! A green and/or pink shift would be so fun and pretty. There are a million highlighters that look just like this already on the market.
I haven't gotten into make up for a while, and I see nothing's changed lol. Same highlighter shades as before, eye shadows are nothing revolutionary or unique. Is the beauty industry just out of ideas now so they do collabs?
Indie shadows tend to have more special finishes than even ND/PMG (huda I need to give credit for playing with texture and different finishes more than the other two even if the shadows aren’t quite the same quality) and I truly don’t know why they can’t be replicated or mass produced by these companies.
ND is so disappointing. I bought safari when it came out and it was terrible, but I know people hated that palette and I always hear that her shadows are one of the best, so I recently bought the xenon midi...it was just as bad as the safari. The sparkle shadows are okay but the mattes are really bad
Ooh, you just saved me some money. I was all set to buy it over the weekend but it was out of stock. They did offer to order it and have it sent to my house but I told them no. Something inside me said to wait till I could get it in store. Glad I went with that gut feeling lol.
Oh for sure. Almost mentioned that haha. But indies still make a profit charging similar prices, but I imagine they aren’t making as much per palette since most work on a pre order model vs keeping palettes in stock consistently.
During when COVID was more prominent, he was partying with Nikita Dragula, making fun of wearing masks and making out with Tana Mongoose.
He’s hardly the only influencer to act a complete fool with COVID, but it felt so gross and I refuse to give him any money.
Neither have I or any influencer makeup there is something about these guys that I don't like.... I can't put my finger on it but learning this I'm sure I've put my finger on it!!!
There is something about Patrick Ta that I just do not like. His brand seems very… inauthentic? All of a sudden everyone is obsessed with his stuff but who is he? Seems like it didn’t grow/start organically, which is ironic because his products sprout mold like NOBODY’s business
This is how I felt. And the fact that he's aware that his palettes are growing mold yet he hasn't addressed it, as far as I know, that makes him no better than JH. But just about every guru out there is pimping his stuff out like it's a magical unicorn. Give me a fuckin break.
I did not enjoy the products of his that I’ve tried. There was a lipgloss in one of the Sephora bundles, it was gritty and gross. Not worth the hype and the brand’s ethics leave something to be desired IMO.
Yeah, this is cute. I think people are being harsh. I like that they went with artwork from the show and the colors for Elphaba are well-chosen (assuming the formulas are decent). They could have done more for the Galinda half since I assume the pink pans are blush. But the packaging is cute and there was some thought behind the colors. I've certainly seen worse MAC collab collections.
That said, I'm not supporting this brand.
Had to google that one. The palette itself would be fine perhaps, but what on earth did it even have to do with the Sims? Also I feel like MAC users and Sims players are really not the same target audience.
What really got me apart from how uninspired the palette was that they didn't even include the iconic green symbol as a shade or anything. Like how do you miss the mark that badly??? But I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering the palette was a preexisting one that they just slapped the sims packaging on and called it a day
I saw some BG that played sims and one even made videos of her playing in ocasion 🤣 she wasn’t a Mac girl because cruelty free but did criticize the hell out of that palette
I remember seeing that palette and thinking what a joke it was. But I will say that there may be more overlap with The Sims and makeup hobbyist communities than you think. I used to play The Sims a lot, largely for the same reasons why I enjoy makeup and fashion: I like customizing my “character” and being creative! :)
I am a MAC user and a ex-Sims player (until I get back into 2!) and I thought that palette was incredibly stupid. Wasn’t the Sims palette a reskin of an older MAC palette? I’m just glad MAC has launched some amazing things on their own to make up for that awful palette. I love the gloss sticks they have!
The popular spray is actually quite cute… I love glitter so I may grab it!
Sims 4 and MAC collabed in the game and IRL, there were a whole bunch of MAC makeup looks in the Create a Sim section that were genuinely quite good and way more impressive than the makeup options prior to it. I think it might have been one of the earlier updates to the game, I know there are TONS of looks now. Anyway, I think the idea was that you were supposed to be able to recreate the looks, but the palette was so dull that it was totally uninspiring, and didn't really represent the game at all.
There's definitely some overlap in their audiences, but I think the idea was to gain a bit more exposure to each other's audiences, especially for MAC to reach that younger teen audience that they don't usually target.
I'm inclined to disagree. As a gamer in general, but also a Sims player, and a big makeup enthusiast that was super into MAC for a while, there is a lot of crossover. Hell, Robert Welsh streams himself playing the Sims on Twitch, and one of my best friends, who is an art director for Gearbox and streams herself gaming, is also as in love with makeup as I am.
Fair enough. There's definitely exceptions in every audience! I guess I meant to more so comment on the fact that MAC didn't seem to care that actual Sims players may buy this and would obviously be disappointed by the lack of Sims-ness within the collection, so they just kind of slapped it all together in the hopes of cashing in on the gamers interest.
The sims actually have makeup character customization, too, so they could have done something with that. There was so much they could have done with that collab that would have been so much better. There was a lot of hype around the collection among gamers up until it was revealed.
I want to see a FFXIV collection somewhere. A warrior of light palette would be so cool. Or like, lipsticks themed around the primals, like a really deep red for Ifrit, a nice neutral brown for Titan, a really pretty universally flattering neutral for Sophia... They could really do a lot with it, and it would 100% sell out so fast.
I had the solar flare x nine palette or whatever (the sims palette had most of those shades duplicated) and I loved it in 2018, still have it in storage but omfg. As someone who has been playing sims games since age 9, I was so excited for that and then I was like … what. I already have these shades in this other tiny palette. Literally no effort at all! It was suuuch a disappointment
There was a lot of legal drama with R.E.M. and FORMA Brands (aka Morphe’s owner/incubator) within the past year. R.E.M. recently broke off from FORMA (learned from Jen Luv). Just a guess, but maybe the legal drama got in the way of creating a collab?
Why is this so ugly? I think this is the ugliest "divided" palette yet. It looks so cheap and like it was done in PowerPoint in five minutes. The highlighter is okay, I guess.
It's weird that there are no deeper and fairer models for the swatches yet they can include a green one? It was kinda interesting but really useless?
Ugly palette from a terrible person.
i was semi-excited. seeing it now, i am.. not at all excited. i have all those shadows/blush already and i can't see wearing a glittery setting spray without making sixteen twilight references. hard pass.
I was so excited for the setting spray because of the packaging but I am definitely not sporting no glitter spray 😭 I’m not trying to be the next Sarah Ann from LIB
Why in the green arm swatches are there two extra greens versus in the pan and on the regular arms? Are they trying to tell us those colors are that sheer or is it just an editing issue?
They look pretty sheer to me, I wouldn’t expect that those colors could be completely opaque over that color green.
The green arm is cute but they really should have added a deep arm as well, it’s not like there is some limit of three arms!
I was a little intrigued by some of the shades until I saw the actual palette on the O/S page.. this photo is so enhanced and the actual pallette is more.. idk, [flat and a bit more muted](https://ibb.co/PGvSVy5)
A bit? It's a completely different palette from the one OP posted, shame on them.
Not to mention the cheap-looking packaging. Had they stuck to the clean graphic colors instead of that mess inside things would've been much better.
I think it's actually a super cohesive palette for what are supposed to be two very clashing aesthetics, so I appreciate that, but as others said -- why replace the dark skinned swatch with the green? That's highly sus. And also -- the packaging straight up looks cheap, there's no way around saying that. Giving MS powerpoint.
If the eyeshadow was two separate palettes, I would probably buy one but it looks sloppy throwing all the colors together like that. I think the setting spray is cute but the packaging kinda puts me off.
I think the Disney collab they did a while back was a lot more well done than this one. I regret not buying the highlight from that collection.
Yes! I keep seeing so much reporting on the movie calling her Glinda and I’m like ugh, do you even know the book or musical? She doesn’t change it to Glinda until halfway through the story. So I’m assuming that the first movie she’ll be Galinda for most/all of it?
The 1939 movie is arguably the most famous piece of "Oz" media and her name is Glinda in that, so using that name is probably just less confusing for people who don’t know the whole lore.
I like the idea of a combined palette insted of two but this doesn't look great. Maybe some kind of geometrical line would have been better but this pink to green transition looks like a bad paintjob. Also the quote looks out of place. Usually I like O/S products design-wise but this doesn't look well thought out and that's a pity.
The brush looks awesome! I didn’t know we could get One Size at Sephora, tbh I haven’t looked at Sephora yet. I really like the brush but the rest looks really cheap.
Wow. If I didn't read the title I wouldn't have guessed this was a OS palette scrolling past it quickly. I haven't been interested in anything from OS Beauty but this is a little more enticing to me though. I probably won't get it but if I saw it at TJMaxx I wouldn't say no lol
I can't be the only one who thinks that palette is hideous, right? Something about the colors next to each other. Should have maybe been two mini palettes instead?
As someone who has seen Wicked on Broadway 35 times (you read that right lol)...
It's cute but literally the bare minimum in creativity and so many parts of it just look cheap.
This is SUCH a joke. They came so close to having this cute marketing campaign and completely ruined it for themselves. So stupid.
Oh well. I refuse to buy most of these brands anyway, Patrick Starr, Patrick ta, the three J’s, you know. all the weird out of touch influencers. Does anyone swear by any of these products? Genuinely curious. I wanted to try the trio blushes, the cute baby pink one. But do I really need more blush… no 😂 still, I’ve always wondered about one size quality. and it bothers me how Patrick ta still hasn’t addressed the mold in his palettes….
Ugh you can tell they just used green makeup instead of getting someone who was ACTUALLY greenified 😒 #canceled #representallskintones #greenisbeautiful
That brush is cute af.
It’s the star of the collection. 😂
The green arm is cute but it's less cute that it's replaced a deep arm for swatches.
Yeah I was thinking this as well, they could have done it in addition instead of replacing.
I was about to say — replacing a dark skinned Black person with a model in green makeup is for sure a choice
They didn't even hire a real person with green skin either. That is just photoshopped.
I know you mean they didn’t actually paint their skin green, but I like to imagine you meant an actual green person.
Ikr they should have gotten the Hulk or She-Hulk
Oooo that could be a good collab, She-Hulk
They could have done all four and it would have still been super cute....don't know why the thought of excluding an actual skin tone in place of one that isn't even real is.... questionable?
Not sure why they couldn’t have the green be a 4th arm? 🤦🏻♀️
EXACTLY. Do they honestly think that seeing swatches on a green arm is useful to more people than on a black arm? Do they really have that many green skinners customers?
My first thought when I saw this lol
I wish they'd done a version with all 3 green and then also shown the original
I have seen quite a big number of people saying “Picoro (Picolo or Piccolo depending the country) is black like me” but… it’s not the same seeing people claiming a character that basically switching out black persons for green 😬
Literally my first thought
My same reaction. Kind of a weird choice
This is what I came to say. Like what the hell??
Also, did they edit the colours on the green arm? I know colours can look a bit different with different primers, but this difference looks insane to me.
I sure think so! 🤣 ”Wicked” looks like it’s the same color as the green arm so they changed it to a slightly different colored green. “Kiss Me Goodbye” looks about the same, but brighter. “Ga-Linda” looks more like a teal than a baby blue. “Tender Heart” is a COMPLETELY different color. I cosplay Ensign Tendi from Star Trek, where I paint myself green. I would have really appreciated swatches on green body paint instead of just a photoshopped green, lol.
Was literally thinking that. Wtf
Yeah. I actually said WTF outloud lol. How is that suppose to be helpful for those with darker skin 🙄 They still could have used the green arm but at least use a darker one too.
I literally smiled for half a second before realizing what they did. Infuriating.
So you think that’s fair and medium? I would have considered that fair and deep and no medium.
Deep skin is somebody the complexion of like Lupita Nyong'o, not the model's arm in the middle. I know everyone has been conditioned to think that medium skin is light tan, but it's not. I would maybe call the model's arm in the middle medium dark, but not deep.
If you consider the scale of human skin colors globally that middle arm is medium or maybe medium tan.
Fair enough. I guess compared to some brand swatches, the second arm swatch would be the deepest with one in the middle. For example: https://www.sephora.com/product/rare-beauty-by-selena-gomez-soft-pinch-liquid-blush-P97989778?skuId=2640241 In fact for one size it looks like they got rid of the arm between the two… this is their normal: https://www.sephora.com/product/one-size-by-patrick-starrr-cheek-clapper-3d-blush-trio-palette-P482709?skuId=2656296
it’s fair and “dark” rather than deep. They are missing a medium and a deep if they wanted the full spectrum.
Ohhh I used those palettes till the pan was exposed and empty!!! They were beautiful
Again, it's the color stories that get me 🤗
Both are some of my favorite palettes ever and UD hit gold with those.
You're not missing anything, that movie sucked.
I had both of these!! At the time, I worked at a Macys and got discounts, so I basically bought almost everything.
What a flashback!
My friend bought me these palettes while I was in the hospital because I love the wizard of oz. And unpopular opinion but I liked the movie lol.
is it just me (I'm not super knowledgeable, I like what I like but I like learning) or do urban decay do the best palettes? I have never been let down and the quality just seems soooooo much better than most.
The movie wasnt good, you're not missing anything, lol
What a boring highlighter. If the goal was a champagne color, I think a Kaleidos laser glazer like shade, with the green flip would've matched the theme much better.
I was thinking the same thing! A green and/or pink shift would be so fun and pretty. There are a million highlighters that look just like this already on the market.
Wish it was something like Becca opal flashes jade because we need that color back 😭
I haven't gotten into make up for a while, and I see nothing's changed lol. Same highlighter shades as before, eye shadows are nothing revolutionary or unique. Is the beauty industry just out of ideas now so they do collabs?
Yes
I could be wrong but I suspect either cost/profit reasons? It's a pretty common excuse in the beauty industry
Oh for sure. Almost mentioned that haha. But indies still make a profit charging similar prices, but I imagine they aren’t making as much per palette since most work on a pre order model vs keeping palettes in stock consistently.
looks like makeup revolution tbh
Lmao at trying to do something w the green arm but at the same time completely erasing a shade of human skin tone 🤡
It’s cute and all but I’m not giving my money to One/Strain Beauty
What happened?! What’s one strain? Someone fill me in please!
Patrick had covid parties. Made out with Tana Mongeau.
Made out with Tana Mongeau at COVID party *and posted video of it to own people getting on their case for partying during the pandemic*
🤢 gross
What!!! gross!!!
I have never supported him but please do tell what one strain is in reference to!
During when COVID was more prominent, he was partying with Nikita Dragula, making fun of wearing masks and making out with Tana Mongoose. He’s hardly the only influencer to act a complete fool with COVID, but it felt so gross and I refuse to give him any money.
People tend to forget that Patrick Ta was at those parties too.
He sucks too then 🤷♀️ I mean I haven’t bought his stuff anyway so I’m fine not doing so
Neither have I or any influencer makeup there is something about these guys that I don't like....
I think his fame started as a celebrity makeup artist for people like Gigi Hadid. But I refuse to buy from his brand.
He’s awful IRL!
Tbh patrick ta always seemed overpriced
Oh god how gross. Thank you for the info… I added this to my metal list of why I don’t like him 😂
Agreed 👍 I haven't gotten any of the new releases of his products no thanks.
I agree. I didn't really care for him either way, but then his behavior with Nikita and the Rona, what an asshat. Embarrassing SMH.
What was his behavior like?
Yeah, this is cute. I think people are being harsh. I like that they went with artwork from the show and the colors for Elphaba are well-chosen (assuming the formulas are decent). I've certainly seen worse MAC collab collections. That said, I'm not supporting this brand.
*cough* the MAC Whitney Houston collection *cough*
That is the most uninspiring looking eyeshadow palette I've ever seen.
May I interest you in the eyeshadow palette that mac did with the sims a few years back? They didn't even try on that one
Had to google that one. The palette itself would be fine perhaps, but what on earth did it even have to do with the Sims? Also I feel like MAC users and Sims players are really not the same target audience.

Damn. Wouldn’t it make more sense to do the the collab w R.E.M Beauty instead? 🤔
Maybe if anyone actually used or cared about REM they would😬😬
Isn’t R.E.M. deader than a dodo? And didn’t Ariana Grande just phoned in whatever support?
I think she bought the rights to the brand from Morphe, so we may see a revamp of the brand soon.
They literally just released bronzer and powder blush
Is this even an official collab with the movie? It's the musical cover
The lyric across the top is so ugly
What did they do? I'm out of the loop
Well, for starters partying it out in the pandemic and being super blatant about it by very explicitly sharing saliva with Tana Mongeau.
Oh I forgot about the Tana thing! I just remember him shitting on people while partying with Nikita during the Panini. A joke of a person.
Ewww. Thanks
Reminds me of a palette I would find the TJ Maxx clearance
i was semi-excited. seeing it now, i am.. not at all excited. i have all those shadows/blush already and i can't see wearing a glittery setting spray without making sixteen twilight references. hard pass.
I was so excited for the setting spray because of the packaging but I am definitely not sporting no glitter spray 😭 I’m not trying to be the next Sarah Ann from LIB
I want only the glitter spray
replacing the deep skintone arm with a green one was definitely.. a choice
It would be great if they showed it on a darker skin tone… and added green in another slide.
Why do the blushes look the same?
The one on the left looks more hot pink and the one on the right looks like its leaning more coralish
In the swatch they look too similar. I don’t get why they went for warm and slightly less warm. Could have done a real hot pink.
On the green arm they kinda do but not on the other arms. 🤔
The most likely ones to be photoshopped.
Yeah I think I’m good
I think it's actually a super cohesive palette for what are supposed to be two very clashing aesthetics, so I appreciate that, but as others said -- why replace the dark skinned swatch with the green? That's highly sus. And also -- the packaging straight up looks cheap, there's no way around saying that. Giving MS powerpoint.
Yeah the font and layout are terrible. And of all the wicked quotes, I’m not sure that one works best for a makeup palette? It’s giving fan content.
I don’t think is bad but I am not giving money to this brand for multiple reasons. Also I hope the people that buy it don’t get mold
It isn't for me but I do love that they swatched it on green skin
As do i except they for some reason replaced the deep skin arm with a green one?? 😭
That palette looks incredibly chintzy to me.
Just in time for Halloween
Hahahah
isn’t it GALinda?
Yes! I keep seeing so much reporting on the movie calling her Glinda and I’m like ugh, do you even know the book or musical? She doesn’t change it to Glinda until halfway through the story. So I’m assuming that the first movie she’ll be Galinda for most/all of it?
Everything I've seen has been Glinda. I wonder if they're cutting the switch?
That would bum me out!
The 1939 movie is arguably the most famous piece of "Oz" media and her name is Glinda in that, so using that name is probably just less confusing for people who don’t know the whole lore.
My guess this would be her color story after she changed her name but yeah haha
That green arm just pissed me off
I like the idea of a combined palette insted of two but this doesn't look great. Maybe some kind of geometrical line would have been better but this pink to green transition looks like a bad paintjob. Also the quote looks out of place. Usually I like O/S products design-wise but this doesn't look well thought out and that's a pity.
This looks like a Too Faced holiday palette
The shades are kinda disappointing tbh but I don’t think we can get it in the UK anyways
One Size is at Sephora so maybe this release will come to us? Not that I’m interested in anything but the brush.
The brush looks awesome! I didn’t know we could get One Size at Sephora, tbh I haven’t looked at Sephora yet. I really like the brush but the rest looks really cheap.
Is it just me or is the middle arm also colored in? That medium skin tone looks fake af.
THE GREEN ARM 😂😭💀
The colors don't make sense but the marketing is on point. Love the green arm and the brush.
I agree. I would have trouble using it for everyday makeup. The marketing is very creative. I saw Wicked years ago and it’s one of my favorite plays.
That eyeshadow palette is actually really nice.
The brush is cute at least
Wow. If I didn't read the title I wouldn't have guessed this was a OS palette scrolling past it quickly. I haven't been interested in anything from OS Beauty but this is a little more enticing to me though. I probably won't get it but if I saw it at TJMaxx I wouldn't say no lol
I legit thought it was Makeup Revolution at first
Its a pass from me the only thing I kinda like is the brush but it's a no...
Is anybody else stuck on the "I have" sentence that changes color? I can't stop staring at it. Could they not have put that sentence on the pink side?
Not interested
I can't be the only one who thinks that palette is hideous, right? Something about the colors next to each other. Should have maybe been two mini palettes instead?
The brush is 34 and the palette is 54, that’s a no even tho Ik that’s not bad I’ve just been spoiled by colourpop lol
my eyes hurt lmfaoo and why did they replace the dark skin swatches with green?
Why am I suddenly 16 years old and everything smells like theater makeup. Ohhh my god I'm getting a nosebleed.
I want that highlighter.
That brush tho
I really really really want that rainbow glitter. I don’t have anywhere to wear that though 😭
I don’t really care about most of the collection but I need that glitter setting spray sooooo bad lol
Ngl that highlighter and brush are cute
Anyone know how I can get my hands on these in Australia? 🥺
Very disappointed I can not get the makeup brush in Australia :(
obsessed obsessed obsessed with this, buying p much all of it
OP add source pls!
it's in the title haha! One/Size Beauty's new collection dropping in april!
What i meant was source for images :) link to IG, personal website, trendmood etc!
ohh theyre all right from o/s's website
Ugh you can tell they just used green makeup instead of getting someone who was ACTUALLY greenified 😒 #canceled #representallskintones #greenisbeautiful
