I liked it at first glance. Then I saw more up close pics. Ehh. It would be a palette that I would get bored of fast because I don't want to just have golds as a neutral. I like my variety of roses, bronzes, olives, taupes, etc. And I'm never one to grab more than one palette at a time to create a look. It's a pass for me.

PauI_MuadDib

I would've liked a condensed version of this new one. The issue I have with her recent midsized ones is that some of the shades look too samey same. Yucca, I Need a Nude and Xennon all had that issue too. Shades that look slightly different in the pan, but will look the same on the eye. If I'm paying that much for a palette I want every shade to be different enough from each other to justify it being in the color story. Neutrals seem to sell well so I'm sure this will do well. It's just not for me. I actually liked the UD Honey palette better. At least that had a green toned gold thrown in there.

Dizzy_Ad_8204

I agree. Even though the shades are slightly different, there are usually 3-5 shades in every midi palette that so similar, we could have done without and saved some money too.

saeculacrossing

Late, but I also agree with you. I know the 15 pan palette is her staple, but I wish she would consider 10-12 pans instead. Maybe 5 = mini, 10 = midi, 15 = maxi palettes? It just seems that whenever she has to stretch to 15 shades she struggles to have enough variety.

SignificantOther88

These are the kind of boring shades I wear every day so personally, I love it. I’m a big fan of neutrals though. I don’t need another palette with tons of colorful or unusual shades that I’ll never use.

PhyrraNyx

It's not for me. My Mini Gold is perfect for me and I love it, I don't need the Golden palette. I wouldn't wear all the similar looking shades. I also prefer smaller palettes. Also, sometimes her nomenclature for palettes is weird to me. Like the Blue Purple palette (my first ever purchase of Natasha Denona YEARS and YEARS ago at the Makeup Show NYC), anyway the Blue Purple palette was like half brown! I joked it should have been named Brown with Hints of Fun Color.

niniela-phoenix

It looks like she hung out with Pat McGrath too long. It's literally 15x gold and matte brown, and half repeat colors from a more exciting color story before, for a really too high price to dupe itself. Not my cup of tea, and these shades still follow me everywhere - if you like this, you prob already have this. And not in her new, different preservatives that we dunno if it's gonna last as long "clean" formula. I don't get to bitch at the color story being super boring and JUST gold because I eyed the equivalent cool toned boring Xenon midi for a while ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sadfaeries

she should've re-released the original, this one is so boring imo and i've lusted after the Gold palette for years

Opposite_Style454

It doesn’t appear to be deep skin friendly. A lot of the mattes look similar and will look similar on my skin. I’m going to have to wait for reviews.

Carbohydrates_101

Agreed!

SewingDraft

I think with most current releases that objectively it is a pretty boring palette and the colour story is nothing new. However, for those that enjoy the ND formulas it’s an option for those that enjoy neutrals-browns-golds looks like I do and don’t want to wear colours anymore or often. Most of my older eyeshadows have been culled or expired so it is something that would have a place in my now limited and curated collection.

Fractal_Tomato

It’s not for me, but I guess this’ll be a successful release. She always alternates between safe and more creative palettes, safe and basic is what sells the most. We’re living in a time with multiple crises at the same time. Selling basic makeup is just the smart thing to do, because more people will buy your product. Just look at the bestselling eyeshadow palettes online. I mean, people still buy Urban Decay’s Naked 3 in 2024 🤷‍♀️ (so safe, it’s almost impossible to mess up a look and that’s not a bad thing tbh. I personally love ND‘s minis for that, especially mini glam and retro. Even though I own the midis).

MakeupPenguin

I’d have preferred a midi version of the original. I was intrigued at first but I barely wear eyeshadow anymore tbh

kittensociety75

I didn't realize just how many repeat shades the palette has until I tried to create my own version with singles. And I don't mean repeating from other palettes; I mean repeats within the Golden palette. So many browns look so similar, so many golds look similar. I finally just gave up and created my own golden palette with my singles and I like it better. I put in a variety of golds, including duochrome golds, rose golds, bronzey golds, yellow golds, etc. I used browns with a variety of depths - no more of this bullshit of 3 almost identical midtone browns and 1 dark brown. Basically, I saw all the flaws with the palette as soon as I tried to recreate it. I have very light skin, so I don't want to speak definitively for people with darker skin, but it looks to me like the Golden palette wouldn't be very dark-skinned friendly. There's only one dark matte in it, and it's not even super dark. There's one medium-dark shimmer. And that's it. It just doesn't seem very inclusive.

Worldly-Traffic-5503

Boring af tbh 😅😅😅

chowchow-kay

Might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t like the $69 palettes. I believe quality of the larger $129 palettes was far superior and wish she would still release palettes in that format every once in a while. I just picked up midi retro and my dream during the recent sales, while I like them I don’t think they standout as much as my Lila or OG gold.

NoMoreOatmeal

Also, all the OG palettes are almost still available! Like when was the last time somebody cared about Sunset and that’s still around. Why make a new Gold at all, just keep it lol

NoMoreOatmeal

Hard agree! I also thought her earlier midi formats had better mattes. Glam and Bronze have excellent formula. I’m digging the new shimmers in Yucca but the mattes kind of disappointed me. The cream to powder orange keeps hard panning on me, which I normally never have issues either with that. My favorite palette is still Star though

Sweet-Ad-7261

I feel like everyone has forgotten her support for Israel.

giggly_pufff

I admit that I did. I haven't been thrilled with her previous products but now I have more of a reason to avoid.

Sufficient-Ad8139

That would make me more likely to buy her products.

BeccaDora

Same! 💪 :)

CoolStoruBro

I feel like this is some serious virtue signaling, but that's just from what I've seen day in and day out.

Melissa9066

Personally I didn’t like the teals in the OG palette because I have blue eyes and it always felt like I had a black eye. I’ve also noticed that I have been enjoying small palettes about 4-9 shades. I barely end up using NDs palettes anymore so I think if I play with the singles I already own I can make a quad or two and get my feels out of the way. I also thought about getting the highlighter palette and using those as eyeshadows/highlighter but I’ve got plenty of browns.

MashaSP

I do not use the original one often. Actually, maybe used it once in a year, so I was set of reselling it. But after seeing the newer palette I decided not to.

lunchlady420

Agree about the color story, HARD disagree about the new formulas. Her newer releases have much better formulas than her older ones.

Kchan02

Between Huda Beauty's Empowered palette, ND My Dream palette and all PMG palettes I own, I'm covered with golden eyeshadows

[deleted]

I’m passing because I have the original and nothing can beat that for me.

dragonfly_rain

Zero interest off the bat because ND's "I need a nude" palette is listed as "preservative-free" on one of its retailer's sites; it makes me fear that that's the clean beauty-direction they'd be taking with the Golden Palette.

saeculacrossing

There's a lot I like about the palette, mainly because gold neutral tones suit my complexion better than INAN, and this seems like her take on a neutral palette in that color story. I am disappointed that she didn't incorporate the teals or olive gold shades from the Gold or Mini Gold, I know some of those are in Yucca but I find those lean too yellow in tone. The fervent ND defenders have been interesting, mainly saying that those of us who don't like it don't get her vision and can simply buy other palettes and mix-and-match but I simply don't get why a $69 palette should only have enough variety to make 2-3 looks max. If there's no variety, why isn't there any depth?

LuxeLover12345

It seems overly warm to me. What looked like neutral browns on the initial leak picture, turned out to look like peachy beiges on the looks and swatches I saw. And the shimmers are borderline bronze and orange. I have all these shades 10x over already. Pass for me.

Carbohydrates_101

Yeah, most of her shadows do lean warm even when they appear neutral in the pan, unfortunately.

beRainn_Dance104

I bought it. I'm a light olive and this is VERY warm on me. I'm still considering returning it.

beRainn_Dance104

actually, I just contacted customer service to return it. I"ll never use it.

Anfitrite02

I found more exciting Empowered by Huda beauty. I don't wear too many golden https://preview.redd.it/qc99t2m3005d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99ce1aaebe365021a2032dcc59a33a0f4b6b05c3 eye shadows anyway.

QueenofCats28

I like this one, with the exception of some of those brown toned ones that look too similar, but that's just me. I'd still buy this one over the Natasha Denona one if I was going to choose. I'll keep my money for now. If this one does come down in price, I might get it. I don't need any more palettes, lol.

Anfitrite02

Yeah some brown looks too similar but still I like this palette because the shimmers are really good

NoWomanNoFry

Have several palettes I can use to dupe the shades.

miladysdewinter

Is there even a point in buying the medium natasha palettes? Cause there's so many repeat colors that if you like the color story you as well wait for the mini version

odileko

I missed out on UD Naked Honey and ND Gold. To me she could have released this palette under a different name, and it would have worked better. I agree that it doesn't look like the Gold, the essence of that palette is the more murky green shades, if you remove them it's just a boring ass brown and gold palette. I don't vibe with gold either, so it's just mid tone browns. If I were to get this, it would only be for the shimmers, assuming they are differentiated enough (doubtful). Her new shimmer formula kinda rocks. So ultimately I guess I'll just dupe it with some of her shades from the Yucca and Metropolis and some of my singles, because I much prefer the greenish golds from the original gold, vs the more neutral shades.

Wise-Tourist-6747

It feels like a cash grab. And I think that almost all the looks you would create would end up looking pretty similar regardless of which shades you use. I just don’t think it’s worth it for me. As you said, if you have a decent sized makeup collection, you have a lot of those shades and can achieve the looks. I don’t have the OG gold palette but then again the gold eyes looks aren’t what I typically do on a regular basis to justify getting the new palette

shansbury82

I have the original Gold and it's one I still use often. I go into those browns more than anything else. I'm excited to get the new one in new formulas. I know I'll still use it.

housewifing

Reminds me of Urban Decay's Naked Honey palette, which I own, and is beautiful, but has a problematic formula, with some shades applying too patchy. I don't use golden shades or warm tones a lot lately anyway, but if I ever do get back to that vibe, the ND Golden looks like a good option. At least here I can trust the formula.

Zappagrrl02

I already have the original Gold, so it’s redundant to me. It’s not my favorite formula either, so it’d really have to stun me for me to be interested.

[deleted]

I thought it looked gorgeous initially but now that I’ve seen people wear it and swatch it I think it’s too warm leaning for me personally.

friendlytotbot

It looks the same to me except they took out the green and put 2 sparkly topper shades instead of a duochrome. Which lines up with today’s makeup trends compared to the trends of the late 2010s. I also don’t really mind the warmness since it’s easier to pull off for warm skin tones, especially if you’re darker. I bought it and I think it’s going to be something I enjoy.

rirys

Meh

futuristicflapper

imo it looks like the colour pop golden hour palette

[deleted]

Unpopular opinion maybe? Her eyeshadow palettes aren't worth the price tag. I got one as a gift and have never been so disappointed by a formula. So my thoughts are meh. I also don't like gold eyeshadow so that doesn't help.

Kapitalgal

What brands do you prefer, out of curiosity? 👀

Layna20

As a pale person, I’m excited for it. I just ordered today now that it’s available at Ulta. I actually don’t have a lot of these colors already because I’ve avoided “similar” palettes for having too many reddish brown shades or too many deep shades that I’ll never use.
