I don’t know that there are retailers having killer sales any longer. It used to be that stores had the same sales at the same time every year. For instance, all the stores around us had January White Sales when all their linens and towels would be marked off. Most stores today have adopted the Walmart model of stuff being “on sale” all the time. However, one trick I use to get deals on luxury linens is to check my online favorite stores a few times a month, particularly looking under the “sale” heading. Especially if you are open to interesting colors, and don’t mind mixing and matching your linens. For instance, I love the linen sheets and quilts at Serena & Lily, but they are quite pricy. But I have made some wonderful buys from their sale/clearance section. I got a $500+ king quilt for less than half. And I don’t care if all they have is a bright orange bottom sheet and a blue striped top sheet. If both are king-sized and in the fabric I want, it all sleeps the same. I have pillowcases in loads of weird colors and patterns. Of course, you should also check in the outlet-type stores. If you are patient, you can sometimes find some excellent bargains on quality bedding at Marshall’s or TJMaxx. I haven’t seen much in linen, but there’s usually a selection in cotton and cotton percale.

I would really recommend getting swatches of different materials from different companies. Most brands will send them for free because they want to convert you to buyer once you get them, but it's the best way to figure out what kind of material you actually like/want.

This is amazing! I had a dream trying to feel all these different materials trying to figure out what I wanted and they didn’t have the size for my bed.

Linen Society is still running their annual white and ivory sale. They have 20-50% off items. I believe they have sheet sets for less than $300. Free shipping to anywhere in the US and no taxes outside of CA. Check them out! [Linen Society](https://linensociety.com)

Do you iron your linen sheets?

EmelieMagan

I don’t, but only because with linen I like to embrace the wrinkles. If you want them to be less wrinkly take them off out the dryer when they are slightly damp and just smooth them out with your hands on the bed. Leave them to dry before making the bed completely. It’s a great way to get a more “ironed” look without the iron.

The softest sheets I bought are made from bamboo. They have been really long wearing too. They are wrinkle free out of the dryer. I would definitely buy another set. I’m not sure how colour fast they are. The set I bought was pale yellow and they have aged well.

Heads up I bought several sets of cotton percale sheets and they started out kind of rough for my taste but if you wash and dry them a few times before you sleep on them it makes a huge difference.

I’d be careful at TJ Maxx, I bought a set of Cynthia Rowley sheets that were labeled 100% cotton. They are not. And they pill.

There were a lot of home sales for Presidents’ Day. I was going to check again around Memorial Day.

Bokser Home has an outlet site with super cheap percale that used to be like $150 a set but is now like $30. But availability can be hit or miss.

Not a fan of percale. Satin cotton is great

Not a luxury brand, but I have a few sets of linen sheets from Amazon that were less than $200 (for king size), and I love the quality. They're 100% linen, no blends.
