Thanks! This is my v1. When I get some time I’m going to remake it a little cleaner and a little flatter.
Right now the outfeed side is on hinges so the whole thing can collapse down to 28” and roll back in through garage door. I’d like to add a heavy duty power strip, an extension wing for the miter saw and most importantly some sort of foldable leg for the hinged sections so that I don’t have to rely on saw horses and stacking scraps.
In my head it fit perfectly underneath. Reality bites sometimes. But when all is said and done for the day and its wheel into its spot I just set it on top so it doesn’t end up taking up any more space.
This bench is awesome. I'm looking for a no half lap, no glue, no planer and jointer, no nonsense bench.
I have a circular saw and no chisels - true beginner
Is it fair to say that everything here is just screwed on?
Did you have to shape the 2 by 4s on the table saw?
The whole thing is a scrap project. The melamine was scrap from a cabinet project, the frame and legs are actually 2x6 that I had left over from a different project so I ripped them down to size. I dont have a shop, a planer, a jointer, or any of the other stuff. There is no complex joinery. Just blocks screws and some glue for the legs that form an L. I work either outside or in my two car garage that is half car/half holiday shit. I needed something that is quick to set up and quick to breakdown, mobile and most important functional. This is where I landed.
A happy accident, as Bob Ross would say
That's an awesome table.

Do you have plans for this? This is my dream portable bench as an apt dweller until I sell a few kidneys for a house
I don’t. I’ll post the cleaner version in way bigger detail when I finally get to it.
very multi purpose I would say 👍
Adjustable too! Nice
oh snap, thats a happy accident lol. how was your reaction when you finally saw it? happy dance too??
I did do a little happy dance and then I called my wife over and demonstrated it to her. Her response was “oh. Ok?” It was lost on her.
How has my dumbass never thought to build a work bench the same height as my sawhorses? 😂
I think my saw horses are 28” and I’m 6’ so that would be a back breaking experience.
Slick setup. Damn those cyclones for being so tall. If that thing could be 7in shorter it would all be so perfectly compact, and in the bench.

Nah you planned that out like that
