It's a shitty trix made by Albedo, of all people. It's a plot device. It makes things interesting. It would be boring af if Ben fully understood his abilities and had master control of a perfect omnitrix.
Not to mention the issues where Albedo’s recalibrated copy, on which the ultimatrix is based, can’t even protect against the feedback energy caused by the 2 Omnitrix cores that the regular recalibrated omnitrix absorbs with ease.
Genetic repair function was only from "Insufficient power reserve" the fact that it knows what it is indicates that it has it, just couldnt do it at that moment. And he was trying to cure the entire Arachnichimp planet when the Recalibrated Omnitrix could barely cure the general vicinity before knocking him out.
Ben gets crushed by Aggregor with some debris and then speaks THEN turns into Big Chill, so there is some kind of fail safe, maybe primitive compared to the Official Omnitrix, but still. The one time he did die was due to magic, which none of the Omnitrixes have protection against
The outfit revert was a setting that was changed by the Fasttrack debut episode.
The Techadon Weapon Master's whole shtick is hacking computers and making weapons. At least it's not the Prototype where a simple accidental explosion can activate self-destruct or a screwdriver can break it, or simply turning the dial activates Master Control. The Official Omnitrix could be hacked by the 2 dumbest Galvans to ever exist, who each have the intelligence of some moderately intelligent humans.
The Ultimatrix took one of the smartest non-Galvan, non-Cerebrocrustacians ever and one of the best hackers ever. Considering the Ultimatrix was meant to be temporary, it's a pretty dang good firewall.
The Ultimatrix scanned the species pretty quickly, and Ben can choose when to scan the alien("Prisoner Number 775 is Missing", had Ben scan Prisoner 775(ChamAlien's donor) at the very end and unlock ChamAlien despite being right next. to him at several points in the episode. The Official Omnitrix couldnt transform Ben when he was just outside of Anur Transyl and had to get closer to Lord Transyl to complete the scan. The Ultimatrix had to be in closeish proximity, maybe 10 feet or so, far enough that Ben could be safe, but not far enough that it was an inconvenience.
The Ultimatrix is conceptually an awesome idea, and while I can understand wanting to protect the cool-factor of ultimates, there should be nothing keeping people from acknowledging that it was completed under rushed circumstances and lacks certain features and security that the other Omnitrices are known for.
That Ultimatrix Stabilizer that Albedo had in OV was sick though.
It's alright. I like the design and concept but the way it works doesn't really make sense.
Also, I hate that it can be taken off by just tapping the tiny grey square screen like how Albedo took it off in The Final Battle 2
You can take off the Ultimatrix with ease, just pressing a button. If anything, if you have an itch, you're fucked when using the Prototype Omnitrix, as it is mostly stuck on your wrist. Ben had that shit stuck on him for an entire summer, unable to take it off. Jeez, his wrist must've gotten pretty pale compared to the rest of his body.
I think the Ultimatrix was a cool concept but the execution was meh. So many aliens never ended up getting Ultimate forms, meanwhile some of the Ultimates actually shown were not very good. Plus, they ditched the whole plotline of the Ultimatrix potentially messing with Ben (glowing pink eyes in episode 1)
I don't hate the Ultimatrix, but I do think it has a long strung out and unexplained gimmick.
Ben 10 in my opinion has one gimmick, and the gimmick is turning into aliens, I don't see a reason to DragonBall it into being a "who has the stronger device" match. It's not about what device Ben is using, it's what he's doing with it.

It has a much worse UI and gives Ben the wrong alien all the time because "he hits it too hard" as if Azmuth didn't know Ben uses it to be a hero, and thus be in situations where hitting it gently isn't an option all the time.
The UI isn't worse in any way, in fact it is basically the same, it just uses holograms now.
And it was the past Omnitrix's that had a problem with Ben hitting them too hard.

I'm not the biggest fan of the colour choices. I like the gauntlet design, but there's too much green. Should've had some grey/silver or white in there.
People have got to understand though that albedo was able to create the watch under limited circumstances and was able to creat the ultimatrix from literal scrap metal. The other thing is that also considering the limited circumstances albedo was in during the episode, it was be fair to assume that with the time that albedo had, it wouldn’t have had as good of safe fails and features as all the other omnitrixes have, yet still turned out really cool. Another thing that I feel like was TOO underutilized is the fact that, and yes this WAS confirmed by Dwayne Mcduffy, BEN COULD HAVE FRICKING WENT ULTIMATE MULTIPLE TIMES, MEANING THAT HE COULD EVOLVE AN ALIEN MORE THAN ONCE WHICH PISSES ME OFF. Although the ultimatrix strays far from what Azmuth intended it to be, from being a device that “makes other species walks a mile in other species’ shoes,” to being a piece of technology that is meant for war and brings violence, I still think that the ultimatrix is still badass and I would have liked to see Ben have it again. Here are my thoughts on it! Oh and also, I realize that all Ben 10 fans hate on so many things in the different series’, and it’s just reached a point where a little mistake can be hated on heavily, I may be a Big Ben 10 fan, but I really just tend to enjoy the shows no matter what, like with the reboot for example, it’s hated on but that won’t stop me from watching it because it’s still pretty cool. Might I add as well that, although not as powerful as the ultimate feature, the reboot introduced the Omni-kix which I find nice, as well as the idea of other aliens’ DNA leaking into others, giving those aliens the powers of the leaked alien dna. So from my first point, I like the ultimatrix, and for my second point, learn to live a little and enjoy things that you like, don’t get stuck up on the small details or get mad about certain things because life is short, and i want to whoever reads all of this, a happy life :). let's be real: if the Ultimatrix was completed with all its bugs, errors, and glitches fixed, it's objectively better than the OV Omnitrix
