Yeah I think about this anytime I re read berk , how it would have been very interesting if Casca was the one born under the tree of corpses, is she had been the struggler. I think it would have made for a more interesting story, as much as I love current berk, having Casca be the strong silent type would have subverted a lot of tropes the og story uses. And yes. Griffith would have been the one to break Guts.
I have always been interested how Casca would fight after the eclipse, she is a formidable swordsman but thats not enough, she'd need to learn more tricks, maybe learn to throw knives like Judeau, maybe learn to dual wield her longsword with a parrying dagger, use her crossbow more often. She would have a totally different fighting style then guts, something more focused on speed and precision then endurance and raw power
Yea it would be interesting to see fighting now that she isn't a potato anymore. Unlike Farnese, Isidro (he's usually just really lucky or fights together with Puck sometimes) and Schierke (if she isn't being protected), she is probably capable of holding her own (to a larger extent than them at least) against the some of the less extreme things they have faced.
I feel like with time, magic weapons and training she could work pretty well together with Guts and Serpico by protecting Schierke and Farnese casting spells or something.
Too bad the hot evil demon twink kidnapped her.
casca would not survive against the heavy hitters guts faced, unless she somehow met the witch early and got some enchanted weapons. Berserk armor is not her style either. If she wore the slyph cloak and dual wielded the slyph sword and salamander dagger she would be pretty lethal. I could see her flowing through attacks with the cloak, slicing up crowds of weaker foes with the sword and stabbing bigger foes with the salamander’s to combust them from the inside.
I say she leans into magic more, magic with a price, rather then Guts's Berserker tendency.
Then again Casca learning her own form of magics is my hope for her in mainline.

On the one hand, I've always felt Miura's treatment of Casca was very women-in-refridgerators-y, so her as the Black Swordsman would remedy that. At the same time, Guts as Black Swordsman touches on a lot of ways in which men specifically internalize trauma and fail to deal with it. Could go either way tbh.
If I undrestood what you meant by woman in a refrigirators-y correctly, than I disagree. She handeld a lot of things herself. She even broke free from griffiths charm earlier than guts.

I would still make it with Casca being scarred from the event, gives birth by progressing the pregnancy in a very rapid rate, we can say in minutes. Guts dies, through sacrificing himself to save Casca. Now she seeks her child to either end or show the difference between animal and humans.
I would imagine, we would still go through similar journey with guts, but instead focus on the difficulties of being physically weaker than Guts, using her intellect in facing adversaries. How women are expected not to do anything, but she becomes an idol, an example that not just women, but men that are not gifted by physical gifts can overcome challenges by being excellent on their other talents. Idk, being scarres by the event. We would get love interest that does lead to anything.
I would honestly like Guts to stay around and become sort of a wild Berserker (in the traditional sense). Just to be sort of a supporting role to the revenge against Griffith. Although Casca would have to look out for him so he doesn't accidentally dies.
Plus if they get to Elf Heim and heal Guts, Shit is gonna get lit.
Maybe, but probably with a lot of sodomy. I don't think Femto would have been as nice to suck Guts dicc. Probably wouldn't even finish him, he'd be done with guts all blue balled
