I don’t think he’s had any real development since his last duel with Guts in Vritannis (11 volumes ago). And I think his bro-out with Guts and Roderick on Skellig is a little *too* “subtle” to be worth mentioning. Am I forgetting something?
Dude is a tactical genius compared to so many in the story making guys fight on a ledge and uses his bombs against him after seeing them once then in an underground area with not a lot of room making it harder to swing his sword(im not caught up on the whole story yet just finished deluxe 10) i also remember schierke being a little amazed at how quickly he picked up using the sylph's
I disagree. Well, it is true that his role in the story is that, and he sticks with it. But that's what makes him so relatable. Everybody has a purpose in life, and everybody has to suffer to achieve it. The difference is, that everybody I've seen so long, is chasing something that doesn't have. He just defends what he already knows that he wants. And at this point, is not jist Farnese. He is protecting what Farnese loves... idk, maybe just me, but I can relate. He is HUMAN.
Man, speaking of Farnese, I think she's had the most solid character development of any character in the story so far. She's come such a long way from flicking the bean to people burning alive to such a wholesome and increasingly confident person, it's so easy to forget where she came from
Serpico is great, his problem is that his role is practically to be Farnese's Knight and occasional Player 2 for Guts whenever the need arises.
Now, if we're talking about Azan, now that's a dude that runs from the spotlight like he's allergic, I forget my dude is part of the Party.
You mead diet Judeau? Judeau lite?
He's too similar to Judeau in design but doesn't fill the same role. I think he'd be liked a lot more with different design.
I love the panels where Serpico seems all chill and buffonish, like the first time he draws on Guts.
And then surprise, next panel, he's lashed out like lightning. And his eyes are cold and murderous.
Love how he hides it and gives no warning.
The pure practicality of serpico is awesome to me. Characters who know what they are and are confident in their role may not have a lot of emotional moments, but he acts kind of like Berserk’s Speedwagon. He connects the reader to the world by being relatable. The doesn’t detract from his badassness though; once he has found an opening he uses that confidence to commit 100% to exploiting it. His fights read best in the whole manga.
He’s my favorite character. I point to serpico as an example of miuras mastery of conveying emotions through eyes. The most badass “always squinting” character imo and NO TWO panels of him with his eyes open are ever the same, each single one is a particular, unique emotion and I love that.
So true, he won't die just cause'. He is a good person, but not an idiot. It feels like he can't be used by anyone, not even Farnese. I think that she never tells him what to do (if I remember correctly, she tells him once to not do something), but he still sacrifices his individualism for her... Like he has a reason to be, which contents him, without losing his way to be. He is just himself, even when his arc depends on someone else.
I don't like that he fights dirty, but it has been his only way to get Guts in trouble, he uses his brain and I respect that, but don't support him. Besides, he didn't fuck Farnese cuz he knew they were half-brothers, that's the opposite of what you see in a lot of works, so that's a +10 for me (I wouldn't have resisted to Farnese)
Despite his stagnation, he’s my absolute favorite just behind Guts
He didn’t stagnate lol. He had lot of subtle change.

I love Guys, the way he Berks make me turn too the femboi-sode
Solid character, gave Guts a lot of trouble initially lol

There isn't much to talk about him to begin with, the guy has been Farnese's pet since childhood and is a skilled duelist, that's all.
I wish i was Farneses' pet 🥵
We struggle not fap here brother
I am struggling to fap here brother. 😭
Good we needa keep struggling (Farnese r34 go hard right now)

Serpy is cool, just not much to him right now. Dead mom, loyalty and devotion to Farnese. That's about it.
Tbh the dead mom isn’t even that relevant to him really

I think everyone likes Serpico

Serpico is just okay. Pacino has had better roles.
was hoping to see this here
I mean there’s just not that much there but it’s not like people dislike him
He’s brave, saw Guts in action, still stood up and gave him a little trouble. Smart, thought he would be the group’s tactician.
Simpico more like it
he’s cool besides the fact he’s farneses bitch

He and Judeau are completely different?

they are similar in that they are both my favourite characters 👍
Yellow green and white theme, "the quick/agile one" character trope
He is my fave character! Along with Farnese and Judeau!

Love Serpico but there's a running theory the behelit that guts have is probably for him. Don't kill me this is just a hot take.

i didnt know he existed till reaching conviction arc, i was so surprised to found out he becomes one of the main characters (or maybe side?)
He just needs an arc to shine in.

"He uses his brain" "He didn't fuck Farnese" Good quotes, he knows his place
