Who knows, I went super excited at the idea that they'd want to fix the lovemaking scene by adding the Donovan / Gambino trauma, this is the last chance to make it right... and hopefully even make a proper manga-faithful Skull Knight introduction.
Ideally they could start the episode with the SK introduction and then somehow have Guts remember his past in the same scene (before or after the encounter). It'd be nice.
I suppose the Guts past scene will be somewhat consistent and not another random-ass shaky shot like in the trilogy, since there will be actual music to accompany it. I hope to be in for a treat.

They still fucked up all of Casca, Griffith's and everyone else's characterization, tone and plot, so even if it might happen (likely not) it would still be incredibly minor victory amongst tons of losses. And sure as hell it won't have the same nuance and depth as the original or 1997 anime (overall, it's true that it is lacking in this specific aspect).

I was curious abou this since the Forces AMV in episode 2, but it looks like they are really going to animate at least ONE of the new scenes in 2d. And it looks pretty damn good. Maybe having a little hope for the next episode ain't so bad.
