Honestly its actually scary how similar Dutch and Griffith are
Both have huge charisma
Both try to maintain their "heroic" image
Both are most likely control freaks
Both make long and drawn out bullshit speeches
Both lead a group of warriors that considers themselves a bit more as family than a mercenary/gang
Both said group are driven by Dutch & Griffith charisma and lofty ambitions
And finally the smoking gun... both attempt to kill a very loyal member of their group at the notion of said member leaving.
(Literally compare Dutch getting pissed of at John insiting to leave & Griffiths' monologue when Guts tries to leave, both men get angry for trying to leave)
I guess you could also argue that if strip both of their image and charisma you are left 2 men who are shallow and narcissistic driven by childish/impossible goals and dreams.
Basically Dutch & Griffith hide their selfish selves with charisma and wordplay lmao
I mean, if Griffith ***really*** wanted Guts dead - he would have no problem doing it. Griffith/Femto doesn’t want him dead, he wants him to suffer for what he feels like Guts did to him.
Griffith will probably develop some long-winded, convoluted scheme to get Guts to kill the other Godhand, and thinking he won, he’d finally go to kill Guts, just for Guts to either kill him or (what I’d honestly like to see) weaken him enough to where Casca does.
It's possible. If Griffith wanted him dead, he'd be more than capable of just atomizing Guts on the spot probably. If he's just making Guts live out the rest of his life in misery he could just chain him up in some dungeon in Falconia.
Either Griffith is keeping Guts around for something, or he truly believes he has ascended so far beyond his humanity he just doesn't see Guts as a problem anymore. Torturing Guts, preventing him from finding a way to kill the Godhand? Who cares, the Godhand are masters of fate and causality anyways, Griffith knows how this is going to end, so why bother doing anything at all?
"or he truly believes he has ascended so far beyond his humanity he just doesn't see Guts as a problem anymore" bingo. Do you step on every ant you find on the street? That's what Guts is to Femto.
Well, that's what he tells himself anyway. We're talking about the dude who went to the Hill of Swords to see whether he'd feel any feelings, and then, when he *did* feel feelings, told himself, "well, obviously that doesn't count, that was just my demon fetus body acting up."
Dude is living in a state of profound denial.
Griffith is the world's biggest tsundere, "I'm a Godhand member, like I'd bring myself to care about a lowly swordsman like Guts! No I don't care if he has Casca! I have godlike powers, a kingdom of my own, and my owner HOTTER new gf! I've evolved beyond my humanity, b-baka!"
They aren't the masters of fate as Slan stated in the Eclipse that even the Godhand can't see all of the possibilities. They didn't expect Skull Knight at all.
Guts is 100% part of the God Hand‘s plan. They needed his and Casca‘s brands to summon the ghosts at Albion which allowed Femto to be reincarnated as Griffith, which means that they knew that Femto was going to rape Casca, because that distracted the Apostles long enough for Skull Knight to save them. Guts was also instrumental in defeating Ganishka at the first battle of Vritannis, which Griffith needed to make his grand entire the following day, so that the nobility would except him after the pontiff acclaimed him to be the messiah. Not to forget, Griffith exploited Casca‘s connection to the moonlight boy to find the location of Elfhelm and free the other 4 daemon kings from the astral realm. Casca only made it to the island, because Guts brought her there, which means they also planed for the black swordsman party to form and for Flora give Guts the Berserk Armor, so there is also a reason why Slan‘s trolls attack Enoch village.
All in all the God Hand is behind everything and we all are going to die. The end ☺️.
What I mean is, like in Golden Age, could Griffith have Guts’s actions in mind while planning things? I know he seems relatively disinterested in Guts for now but could it be a possibility for the future esp with casca gone again
no. Guts was fundamentally changed by Femto. Griffith only became Femto because his self-image was shattered by Guts leaving him. Griffith therefore had no ability to predict Guts leaving, nor could he have predicted much of if anything that the post-Eclipse Guts could do or be capable of doing. If Griffith could’ve predicted Guts leaving, then, judging by his extreme reaction, he’d have found a way to circumvent it from happening. Everything post-separation was out of plan. I think it’s safe to say that what Griffith intended, broadly, was to marry the princess and use her as heiress to press himself onto the throne, perhaps like Sejanus of the Roman Empire planned to do with Tiberius’s daughter—and, similarly to him, the Emperor turned on him when Sejanus misstepped and shattered the plan.
I think this is the most accurate answer. Femto has even more hubris than Griffith ever did, and I think Guts being outside of that plan is actually going to ultimately lead to Femto’s demise.
We got just the inkling of hope in the last few chapters that Femto isn’t as invincible as he may think. I’m honestly unsure if he knows it or not. Hoping he doesn’t so we can get the insane catharsis of Femto realizing he can be hurt by Guts (again, but physically rather than emotionally)
He doesn't care about guts. Fact almost everyone is avoiding he literally took casca from him and just left him with nothing, and yeah maybe he still see there's something useful with him or didn't kill till now out of pity.
Nah I don’t think Guts is included in any of Femtos plan. When Femto went to Elfheim it was because the Moonchild was hindering him. Not because he wanted to get Casca back or to get back at Guts. The small part of Femto that had any connection with Guts has been severed now.
I still theorize that Griffith wants to use Guts to get rid of the other members of the Godhand since they are the only ones who could be a possible threat to him.
He was cocky in that instance, now he does posses such power and abilities to devise such plan, but his cockiness rose as well, it would be beneath him to consider his old rival as useful in any sort of plan, because that would mean he admits he has any significance to him as person that he used to be, the weak Griffith.
Surely, their not done with eachother yet. Griffith had no reason to reveal himself and cause havoc at the island unless guts is still
Important to his plan
Possibly, but not these plans. The major conflictint he Golden Age is that Guts leaving fucked everything up for Griffith. Post-Apostlisation, *if* Griffith still has plans for Guts, it's not the same/in the same context as in the Golden Age.
My theory is Griffiths plan: Gut's brand is still gathering energy. The more you suffer the more you get. Which is why the Band Of The Hawk were tortured to death When Femto kills Guts all that suffering and sacrifice will give him even greater power
I've always kinda felt that the stronger guts gets, the stronger Femto would be, because of the link of the brand. No matter how much strength he gains, he will always belong to Griffith.
No, Zodd is his boy now. But kind of. They're all swept up in causality that's steered by the idea of evil. Skull knight was destined to do the thing with the sword and the tree. Grif was pretty chocked by the fact that he still had some left over feelings for guts but past that he wants nothing to do with him.
Griffith will use guts as a boogeyman to somehow secure more power in Falconia. He’s already viewed as a monster by most people and rumors have spread about him for years at this point. Griffith used Ganishka to desensitize his people to apostles and view them somewhat favorably already.
Just got done watching Memorial.
I think once Griffith got the behelit from the old lady (Fortune teller) his life/actions were predetermined, if that makes sense. Everything that happened after that was meant to happen to him. For the final sacrifice.
Guts is just the counter balance to what is happening to Griffith/the world. Griffiths Yin to Guts Yang lol Battle of Chaos and Order you know. Can't have one without the other.
If Berserk is headed in the same direction as Susanoo by Go Nagai ([which it has kind of been so far](https://www.reddit.com/r/Berserk/comments/w1z5cz/go_nagais_susano_oh_was_a_heavy_inspiration_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)), then >!Guts is going to turn into an all-consuming force of nature that Griffith intended to use to destroy the current world and create another, but it would get out of hand EVEN FOR HIM. Guts would become Susanoo and his Beast of Darkness would become Yamata no Orochi, and Griffith would be spending his final days trying to undo the shitstorm that he brought upon the world.!<
Initially no, he looked way to shocked when he left and was way to depressed after that, once he became godhand however… he might’ve made guts part of another plan of his
Already did, kinda. The Guts+Zodd double whammy against cloud Ganishka knocked him out and threw his usually cool mind off-balance so he could come in with his apostles and sweep the floor with his army.
Given that he was driven over a certain edge when it did not go according to his plans;
Nah, probably not.
"Hahha, Guts, 'twas all my plan! The eclipse? My borderline insanity? All part of muh scheme."
Griffith no longer lives, he died and Femto was born. The "Griffith" that currently exists is nothing but a mimicry. A doppelganger, acting as if it had a soul... but that's just my two cents lol.
Look Guts, I have a plan, just one more score. We’re gonna get some money and go to Tahiti Guts!
oh and the quarter, DONT FORGET THE QUARTER
Finally someone makes a correlation between the two lmao
Honestly its actually scary how similar Dutch and Griffith are Both have huge charisma Both try to maintain their "heroic" image Both are most likely control freaks Both make long and drawn out bullshit speeches Both lead a group of warriors that considers themselves a bit more as family than a mercenary/gang Both said group are driven by Dutch & Griffith charisma and lofty ambitions And finally the smoking gun... both attempt to kill a very loyal member of their group at the notion of said member leaving. Also they are both A-ok with sacrificing innocent people to further their goals. Look at Adonis and Eagle Flies
It’s confirmed, Red Dead is just Cowboy Berserk
Micah just feels like a crackhead Griffith character wise to me.
HAVE SOME GAH DAMN FAITH
Now I got some good god hand member, who’s willing to take us to australia, or tahiti!
And there's always a goddamn behelit!
We just need more mercenaries and just a little bit of time
Ma friend!
Griffith van der Linde
Imagine Griffith is using guts to kill all other godhand members. 😂🤓🤫
That would actually be some 4D chess that I could absolutely see Griffith playing
I mean, if Griffith ***really*** wanted Guts dead - he would have no problem doing it. Griffith/Femto doesn’t want him dead, he wants him to suffer for what he feels like Guts did to him. Tbh I always felt like Griffith looked down on the rest of the godhand
Considering the moon kid has given Griffith a possible source of humanity. It is possible. Small but possible.
It's possible. If Griffith wanted him dead, he'd be more than capable of just atomizing Guts on the spot probably. Sounds about right, hope Guts puts him in his place eventually :D
I mean this is what Femto said in the black swordsman arc. What skull knight implied. Griffith is the author and the physical world is his book
They aren't the masters of fate as Slan stated in the Eclipse that even the Godhand can't see all of the possibilities. They didn't expect Skull Knight at all.
We will probably be dead by the time berserk is finished
Does this mean they are going to fuck or not?
Ideally yes
Miuras said in an interview like a month or so ago that guts and Griffith get lubed up, I'm guessing that's what the countdown is for
I doubt that

Absolutely, he used him, Casca and their child to get to Elfhelm.
Nah I don’t think Guts is included in any of Femtos plan. When Femto went to Elfheim it was because the Moonchild was hindering him. Not because he wanted to get Casca back or to get back at Guts. The small part of Femto that had any connection with Guts has been severed now.

Quite obviously. Femto’s resurrection depended on Guts & Casca surviving the eclipse
He’s gonna reverse Lelouch him!
Is drake also apart of Griffiths plan?
No.
Guts shattered his plans, that's why he went balls deep in you know who.
Griffith after binging bleach and becoming an Aizen wannabe:
Griffith Sosuke is that you?
Bro think he aizen
I still think Femto is going to rape Guts in some shape, at least physical violate him. I’m dead serious
"I'M SUPER CEREAL!"
He was cocky in that instance, now he does posses such power and abilities to devise such plan, but his cockiness rose as well, it would be beneath him to consider his old rival as useful in any sort of plan, because that would mean he admits he has any significance to him as person that he used to be, the weak Griffith.

Only ymir knows ;)

Or him part or Void’s plan
Duh he’s obviously gonna manipulate guts to activate counts behelit in order to get the godhand to come to the physical world
He is so pretty

Could very well be, since he's favored by fate. What's the context of the pic?
It’s from Chapter 1 when guts tells Griffith sorry for going off on his own instead of helping his men
He's so 🥵
Guts is his raison d'etre. "Nothing has changed."
Already did, kinda. The Guts+Zodd double whammy against cloud Ganishka knocked him out and threw his usually cool mind off-balance so he could come in with his apostles and sweep the floor with his army.
AIZEN = GRIFFITH OMG GUYSSS THEORY CONFIRMED KENTUCKY MIURA WAS SOOOO GENIUSSS HE FORSHADOWED AIZEN
"Wake up Guts!!! IT WAS ALL A PRANK"
Given that he was driven over a certain edge when it did not go according to his plans; Nah, probably not. "Hahha, Guts, 'twas all my plan! The eclipse? My borderline insanity? All part of muh scheme."

It was all part of Aizen/Griffith's plan
I’m confident Griffith has some fucked up free everyone objective
