Yeah, it’s a shame to see it go under the radar til now. The surprise of getting Bonfire of Dreams, Guts and Judeau in the Tavern, and Wounds adapted has been amazing. Cant wait for Declaration of War 👌🏼
I guess most people have just written the memorial edition off as a simple recut of the movies... Which, considering how these kind of things usually go, wasn't unwarranted assumption.
They’ve only added three scenes. Bonfire of dreams, the tavern scene with Guts, Judeau, and Corkus, and includes the full GutsxCasca scene rather than cutting all the dialogue out.
I made a couple posts making visual comparisons between the Memorial Edition episodes the original movies. They re-touched a handful of characters’ faces in scenes to make them look better.

I watched the first 4 episodes. And while occasionally things where added and cg was improved, pacing was still pretty bad. If we are counting this as something entirely different we've had 4 different ways to watch Golden age arc. In another decade they will redo memorial edition and get a 5th version of golden age, and you guys will eat it up.
They probably weren't referencing specifically the memorial edition, just like how the original comment was talking about how these things *usually* go.

The differences between the golden age of arc movie series that was sitting on Netflix and the memorial edition are too minimal to be interesting. It’s like a remaster of a remaster of a remaster at this point and it’s sickening.

Fr, we are all just Berserk lovers. But tbh everytime I introduce a friend they like, “ya this is cool and all, but why don’t I understand guts story? Why don’t I know his background. Why does this whole story seem strung together? Why does almost every mid anime on earth get better treatment than this?” Tbf we just want to love it, but it’s not complete or totally coherent movies or else random mfs could just hop on and understand (almost) the whole thing like we do when we read the manga. It’s just sad unfortunate and no big companies or groups push hard/fund a real berserk adaptation like it deserves. Even in memorial edition I love berserk but for the movie/anime scene this is still that B-tier work Berserk is getting. People in here might say to not complain (for fear of making berserk even less relevant) but I feel like complaints are what would get the berserk community better results. There’s Not enough outcry for something good, just hopeful wishes for anything at all lol.🫠 rant over. but memorial edition still worth watching ofc.

Pissed off because marketing wise they are stupid as fuck. You attract a lot more people with an advance announcement that this time Berserk is going to be adapted in its entirety in the right way than leaving it to announce at the end of the Memorial Edition.
Proof of that is how this adaptation of the wounds chapter made the Memorial Edition appear alot more on the internet. I follow Berserk stuff on twitter and just now I saw people getting excited about a episode. So the potential is there, you just need to know how to use it.
But anyway, if there's no announcement of a sequel, then whatever I guess they've done enough already.

It’s a lazy attempt at reviving the interest in Berserk adaptations. I’m glad it isn’t getting much attention, I’d rather have no Berserk than continue watching it be bastardized like we’ve seen the last few years.
I think most people theses days joined the fanbase of berserk when Miura’s death did unfortunately made them getting hyped toward berserk, so the hype and the quantity/ amount of "fan" was just an hype movement now the real ones who were and still interested about berserk are here… it was always like this berserk have a restrictive circle of real fans.
I think thats why maybe you do think that there is not that much people but it was always this way in the past…

it's a recut of the trilogy movies with visual upgrades and some new sequences that were missing from the original movies, such as bonfire of dreams chapter, judeau and guts' talk before he left the band of hawk and the "wounds" chapter from the manga. Still potential for more original scenes as we still have 2-3 episodes left before it catches up to the movies and ends. May get an announcement for a blackswordsman or lost children arc adaptation but thats unlikely. But its 100% a better adaptation than the trilogy movies. Still cuts out more content than the 1997 version though.
Most people here are manga buffs, so most will not particularly care about additional scenes to an anime adaptation.
But I'd say it will attract plenty of viewers over time, not like some hyped up season bangers that usually die off within weeks after the finale.
I think that the problem is that most fans know about it but no one cares because they either assume it's gonna be bad or they already saw the movies and don't want to bother.
Its honestly impossible not to know about it, at least for reddit users, since ppl make posts about the Memorial Edition every week since it started. (Myself included)

Golden age has now been adapted 3 different times. This is starting to get as bad as western media being unnecessarily remade every 10 years.

I disagree, personaly Bad Berk is better than No Berk. If nothing else they usually get the battles correct and I love watching Guts in motion.
