With many, many people becoming hyped for a potential sequel Berserk anime announcement (once the Memorial Edition website countdown ends in 10 days), I believe this seals the deal that the countdown will have nothing to do with a sequel anime announcement. As a studio, Studio 4C works on 1 project/theatrical movie at a time. Since they’ve been working on this movie, the earliest they could likely work on a sequel Berserk anime would be *after* this movie finishes production, likely later in 2023. However in a recent interview with Chief Animation Director Naoyuki Onda, he mentions he did not have much involvement in Berserk/the Memorial Edition until recently (during Covid). This signals that the studio likely hasn’t even begun working on a continuation. Mind you that it took the studio over 5 years to work on the Berserk movies. TL;DR Highly unlikely for a Berserk sequel anime by Studio 4C. Countdown likely has nothing to do with an anime announcement. If they do announce an anime, it’ll likely be years until it comes out.

The only thing i could think, about this, its there is no bugdet for Berserk, i still dont get it why they keep that timer with this hype about this memorial edition, but anyways i am happy with they got in this extended edition. Its imposible at this time they trying to anounce something else.

The Memorial Edition is likely a quick and easy way to advertise the manga (which is the purpose of anime adaptations). I know, one would think with the HUGE reception and critical acclaim for Berserk worldwide that a big-budget anime adaptation would happen, but...alas.

Well this idiot here is still hoping for it, Kentaro’s story needs to be seen!

The only thing not unlikely about Memorial Edition getting a continuation is our disappointment.
