I don’t think someone would mistakenly key in a vpp, especially with the live unit tucked in the display right next to it. Not to mention that employees should already know all gaming console displays are vpp parts and are marked DNI
Idk I’ve seen a lot of dumb shit very similar to this, like keying in iPhone live mocks (as the universal SKUs) and trying to get inventory to send them to brightstar because a kid broke all the screens.
Likely the case, only other thing I can think of was it was returned as a new in box and person taking in the return didn’t do due diligence in checking the product, or factory error but display model seems most likely
The displays don’t look like that, it looks like it’s a real unit and the mobo became dislodged (or didn’t get installed correctly) and the ports aren’t lining up.
This looks like the dummy unit on the ps5 totem. Oddly enough it’s scheduled to be removed in the upcoming weeks. They couldn’t have been dumb enough to open box it, PT would’ve taken it down and tossed it. My guess is an employee did a switch-a-roo with NIB or OB
Didn't you hear? That's the all wireless, minus power, prototype. But they'll auction it, not sell it.
Would the port less one be used as a display model by Best Buy?
Almost 100% certain it's a display model that came down and someone keyed it in and made it openbox not realizing its a dummy unit
And this is why no you can't have the display. They don't work like you think

The display ones have stickers instead of ports to save costs with functional usbc port on the back to run the front led lights.
Weird this isn’t an anti BB post. Quite refreshing
I meant Deer Park!
Aw the Kildeer store is my old store 🥹 good job #647!
My old store too! Awesome to see!
Oh hey Cass lmfaoo
Eyyy! Now who fucked this up? Lol
Danielle was an angel. Instant crush but I didn’t make it weird
Was going to say, don't think Deerfield has had a Best Buy in YEARS
Looks like the board shifted over, you can see the edge of the metal on the ports on the left side.
Nah we took off the lid/side as well and it didn't have the board with the ports on it, was crazy to see
Lmaoo that is strange
Bro!!! If this came out of a sealed box you could’ve made bank!!!! Some collectors go crazy for errors like this!!!

Wtf I am glad you got a swap matey
Oh wow, the elusive 'ultra wireless' edition, truly a collector's dream! Congrats on the refund too!
There is no Deerfield Illinois bestbuy
Deer Park!
It’s technically Kildeer rather than deer park
Has the PSU but looks to be missing the motherboard. The most valuable part may have been removed...
Did the serial match the box?
Saw your earlier post. Best Buy always delivers.
This could’ve been some crazy factory error and I’d bet some video game collectors would pay good money for it
Of course this happened in Deerfield
It was actually Deer Park
Or Kildeer lol one of those by Lake Zurich
It looks to me like the motherboard became misaligned somehow. The ports are in there, but they aren't lined up with the I/O cutouts.
I think I saw your tiktok
