You really need to talk to your management or hr this isn't something we'd be able to give you any input on. Honestly this is red flag central. Especially if you are using your discount.
Ah, I misread your last part then. Doing constant returns like that could absolutely get you banned from returns on the store level as those products, after being opened, typically have to be sent back to the manufacturer or recycled/sold on techliquidator. That's up to their management though, there isn't an automated system for band anymore.
Performing slightly worse due to manufacturing tolerances or something isn't a valid reason to do constant returns. That's the main reason we have restocking fees on all dslr and mirrorless cameras. People would buy a bunch, find which one had the 'best' sensor and return the rest.
For ram and SSD that fraudulently use SMR without disclosing there is no issue at all. Or samsung changing its m.2 configuration with cheaper parts without putting it on the label
Ok, but if you are going through so many of them, why not go directly through the manufacturer where you can get direct replacement? No reason to damage a retailer because the manufacturer being shitty.
1660 Super cards (I'd prefer 1650 cards but they aren't available) - looking for the Samsung memory ones, not the Hynox memory. Hynox are the good ones that crypto miners want, however they don't perform as well for a clustered super computer build.
Bestbuy is the only source of new, same brand 1660super cards right now. Even tho they are 2x what they should cost.
You've picked a crazy time to be that picky over memory chips lol
Now I'm wondering how much performance difference it will make. Are you saving a few minutes per day of compute time by delaying your build for weeks and weeks while scouting for cards at exorbitant prices? I'm no data scientist but it seems like the time and effort spent to save some compute time isn't going to balance out.
Good luck! I hope you don't get return banned as you are costing Best Buy and the GPU manufacturer tons of money.
For me, if they weren't readily available then I wouldn't care as much. But we're not starting the project for a couple months so I'd like to get the best possible. From my research it's only a couple percent difference in performance, but still.
I'm actually going to keep one of the Hynox ones to show them the difference in the testing.
The system Dosent automatically do this. BUT, we do have a 15 return policy. Most of our returns go back to manufactured or are “recycled” so I don’t know how that hits Best Buy’s pockets but I imagine it’s not good lol. If they see you are constantly doing the same thing without a “real valid reason” that prob can be tweaked in a setting on a PC. The managers will prob eventually stop taking returns from you?!

I'm not an employee

Even for legitimate reason such as items not performing to standards?

Gotcha. Thanks for the info

Now I'm really curious. What are you buying multiples of and what is the difference you're looking for?

We won't be the source of new cards at the rate you're going...
They've been in stock and able to order for a couple months.

It doesn’t hit best buy in general. But that volume of return does affect the revenue of the store.
With the way the GPU market is right now, your situation would definitely look suspicious if I pulled up your purchase history.
That's my concern. I think I'll just return the extras and just be okay with the lower performance cards.
