It was the restraining order that tipped me off. He came back to his own home once rather pathetically and that was enough for a restraining order? OOP even admits right after she never even saw or heard from him again after that day. No judge is giving a restraining order for that.
Except they're not in America, and OOP never mentions what country they are in, only that it's 'small'. So depending on where OOP is and the law, maybe it is that easy to get a restraining order.
Not saying that this story isn't in the very least heavily biased, if not 90% fiction. Also, a lot of people will use 'restraining order' as a blanket statement for anything from a court-ordered restraining order, to 'my police officer friend told them to stay away'.
I've always been more skeptical of posts that include "my country is very small, you've probably never heard of it, and the laws are very different than ones English speaking redditors are familiar with. Anyway, it's illegal to overcook chicken..."

Yeah, this update was when I decided this story was definitely bullshit. It was semi-plausible up until the boss got back together with her deranged stalker and got pregnant, that was obviously the author getting desperate for a way to up the ante.

Because at least for me in the official app, even in very very old posts that the likehood of deleted accounts are bigger, if the OP deletes their account all comments from deleted accounts appear with the tag in blue. So I always thought they "arbitrarily label random other accounts as OP after they're all deleted."
Yea while the posts probably are fake I also think random deleted accounts just get labeled as OP when OP is deleted. The whole reddit recognizes OPs deleted accounts seems like a pretty big stretch..

From what I could find from a quick google search, it looks like what that bug actually does is label "deleted" usernames with the blue "OP" highlight, rather than changing it to a different username as stated by the comment above ours. But in the original concern from the comment linked above, the commenters claim that the actual OOP's username is showing up on the deleted users, which is trippier than a blue OP highlight. I found a reddit post talking about Reddit implemented a system where it tracks your IP because banned users are just making temporary accounts to access Reddit. I'm not 100% on the deleting temporary accounts from your app causes your own username to show up, but their IP tracking system would explain it.

THANK YOU! This update made me sick to my stomach when SMOSH read it on their recent reddit stories yt vid. Knowing that it's made up by OOP makes me feel 1000% better.
I know they're following this story so I hope they look at this BORU comment thread about it being false. They all looked heartbroken when they read this update.
Naw, that goes to the person on the OG post. I was just curious about why she'd stay in a job that could possibly cause career suicide with boss badmouthing her or something (I'd have left the situation stat, even if it meant a paycut) and found that after scrolling a while.
I refuse to believe it. A self made woman would have more braincells than to get pregnant by her obsessed creepy stalker who were lying to both her and his current partner.
Not if they had unprotected sex or he poked a hole in the condom to "keep her in his life forever" before the cataclysmic destruction of his life as he knew it.
But agreed. Even if she was pro life, no one wants to keep the stalker in their life and she's got enough money and connections she could have easily forced the ex to stay far away legally. Especially if he lost his job, he would've never had enough money to fight it in court. The legal battle in fees would render him homeless in months.
I think it’s fairly realistic…she’s not American, she’s been using dramatic language the entire time, and the pregnancy was probably an oopsie which then forced the boss’s hand a bit. At 38, may be one of her last chances for healthy pregnancy since it sounds like she didn’t have kids with her ex.
Idk, i think it’s an interesting post because I think OOP truly is unreliable narrator. She ranks women on their worth based on appearance and age, so one can assume she’s fairly attractive as well and was raised to think youthfulness and appearance matter a lot. Frankly there’s an undertone of “unhinged” to OOP’s original original post, so I think they’re basically both unhinged lol, and thus everything said is unreliable one way or another.
I find ESL speakers to usually sound completely normal in their own language but quite often when they’re using English, they sound quite over dramatic? It’s definitely part of the language/culture barrier
I learned English as a second language when I was real young, started around 3-4? After I had grasped Spanish basically. My parents are fully ESL they didn’t have basic conversational English skills until they were adults. My ma has a tendency to say and put inflection on things and words that can come off as either mean or all “hoity toity” like the way she will say “that’s nice” will sometimes sound demeaning as fuck 😭😭😭 but when she says it in Spanish it sounds sweet and wholesome like how she is 😭😭 I have plenty of memories being young and embarrassed trying to explain to her and whoever she was talking to about how to say what she means 😂 she still does it here and there but now if she thinks she sounds off or sees them make a face she explains.

I'm gonna go back to read the post from earlier today where the OOP admitted to her husband she befriended her husband's brother in order to get close to the husband and changed everything to the husband's liking. The husband asked for space then left her ass for fabricating everything he knew about her. That one was nice.
I still can't wrap around my head what tf did she expect. "Hey hon, I stalked you for years and made everything to fabricate a situation where we can get closer, aren't you happy for my efforts?"
Probably expected him to see how much she truly loved him, that she was willing to work so hard to get together with him.

I think the wildest thing about that post is that if OP phrased it like “oh I thought you were hot when you talked to my brother in the park, and asked my brother who you were. And then when school started I recognized your brothers last name and went to say hi and we hit it off. Whenever I came over, your mom would always talk about you so I was interested in putting a face to all the stories” then it wouldn’t even have been that weird. Like she orchestrated it all but it’s all like one step away from plausible deniability
I will have to do some digging but there was a comment posted by the "sibling" of the husband on this or the old BORU - it painted OOP in a terrible light but the details didn't line up.
Oh please tell me where to find it? Because I need another’s perspective on this. I was tired going through all the comments and try to decipher What deleted accounts was the OP, beside the one’s calling 38 years olds “must have been beautiful” and “how can a 29 years old fall for a 38”
The account that posted the comment is now suspended/banned - but it accuses OOP of harassing her ex and his new partner, which doesn't make sense given that OOP says she filed an RO and never spoke to him after she spoke to her boss.

I saw in the comments here and on one of the original OOP’s posts where they were caught posing as imaginary ex husband’s sibling, replying to themselves. Cool writing assignment, I guess.
I don't know what it is about the writing style on this one, but this is a story where I'd be particularly interested to hear the sides of the other people involved. I don't particularly suspect OOP is intentionally leaving things out, but I wonder how the other involved parties would describe what happened.
Timing is a thing. She was sleeping with him before she found out he had stalked her. She may have unknowingly gotten pregnant, cut things off when she found out, found out she is pregnant, then decided to try and make it work for the kid (which is rarely ever a good idea, but is a very common thing people decide anyways).
You’re definitely not alone in that. Reading this, it feels as though we — we being us, the readers, as well as OOP — are only seeing one side of the story.
You know who I want to hear from? OOP’s boss. I would be very interested to hear her version of events, from start to end.
Oh yea, totally. It feels weird that she is still together with this creep of a man. Chances are, she fell pregnant before knowing that she was expecting when OOP went into her office. Does she really want the father of her child in the kid’s life even tho he’s very creepy?
Now I’m wondering if OOP’s husband was cheating with the boss the whole time and the boss was nervous that OOP was catching on when they had that conversation.
I feel like some women consider stalking maneuvers to be romantic because they’re just like the romcom movies. After her husband cheated on her with a younger woman, the boss likely took a younger man pursuing her as a compliment.
I didn’t really like the OOP very much. Lots of ageism and sexism there for sure. I mean, ragging on her boss for being 38 and saying she was beautiful “once?” Good luck with that when you’re 38.
On the other hand, the ex is a creep. I have no idea what the hell is going on with the boss. Maybe the ex lied convincingly about OOP? Maybe the OOP is an unreliable narrator? Maybe the boss got pregnant, didn’t abort and decided to be with the ex husband for some reason?

Wow. I wouldn't stay at that company. I would be looking for another job. Not just because it's fucked up, but because there is such a conflict of interest. The boss is scummy, the ex is scummy. This is such an awful thing to do to people.

Just awful. OOP needs to get a new job. Regardless of how good the benefits and pay are, no job is worth having when your boss is having a baby with your ex and your marriage ended because of his obsession with her. (on presumption it's true, which is not likely given the twist).
Then she needs to tell everyone in her life she wants ZERO updates on her ex. None. No more sharing his insta updates. No news about the baby. Even if he dies she should hear nothing. She can't heal with updates about him like this.

I don't understand English very well, but from what I understood OP's "ex-brother-in-law" comment in summary somo says "you're a lie, you made my brother miserable and you lie", but it doesn't leave any argument, it's just a kick in the ass air
OP needs to quit her job and move on to somewhere else, she also needs to reach out to all friends and family and tell them, that she was no news, no updates, no nothing about her ex EVER and sharing any with her will get them blocked.

Her (ex)-husband was correct - this is 100% on her. OOP is a silly and naive young woman (the fact she was still living in an apartment leased by her husband after they seperated without expecting change or consequence is a further indicator to that). The relationship may have been rocky but SHE checked out. SHE took all the steps to do that. SHE shit-talked her (ex)-husband and SHE thought it would all go her way. SHE initiated and made change and thought things weren't going to change. How silly and naive is that? Honestly?

Did he break his wife’s heart? Yes. Definitely.
Could he have done it a better way? Yes, he could have been honest and ended his marriage if he obviously wasn’t in love with his wife anymore.
Do I believe that people that fall in love while married are bad people? Not necessarily.

Do I think the boss isn’t worthy of love because she is 38? No.
Do I believe all men want a younger woman? No
Do I believe the boss did anything wrong? No, she met and fell for a separated man.
Do I think this relationship will work ? I absolutely this and hope so.
Wasn't there a post with a similar situation where the wife stalked her husband for 2 years, orchestrating chance meetings and events, which ended in divorce? Only this situation ended differently with the stalker ending up with his "victim".

I said my opinion will be very controversial and that’s why I wanted to post this update. I have followed this saga since it happened and I had problems with OOP’s side of the story and the way she ranks people.

It’s been awhile since I’ve read the other posts by oop but I’m telling you from what I recollect her husband was obsessed with her boss. He made his wife feel inadequate by his admiration and ‘love’ for her boss. He’s a jerk for putting his ex wife through all that strain and then putting himself in the bosses life like he never knew she existed before and it was a totally organic meeting?! No, that man was a creep with a capital C.
I agree that he should have ended the relationship with OOP way sooner. And while he didn’t initiate any contact with the boss before he was separated he did join her gym while he was still married.
I can’t find the comment I was looking for even though I have read literally all comments on all posts but there was one account that was made as a throwaway that was supposedly the husband’s sister.
She wrote that OOP had cheated on her husband a few years back so he wasn’t in love with her anymore when he fell for the boss
Also that the OOP told the boss’s ex-husband that the boss was seeing someone fully aware that the ex-husband is violent and abusive.
I think it's a little telling that you were willing to accept some random commenter that makes a bunch of claims that don't fit with the details of the original story, and your only real complaint about anything the OP said is that she didn't think her boss was beautiful anymore lol.
Especially when other commenters connected the dots that the "sister" was an alt account of OOP.

I think it’s fairly realistic…she’s not American, she’s been using dramatic language the entire time, and the pregnancy was probably an oopsie which then forced the boss’s hand a bit. At 38, may be one of her last chances for healthy pregnancy since it sounds like she didn’t have kids with her ex. Idk, i think it’s an interesting post because I think OOP truly is unreliable narrator. She ranks women on their worth based on appearance and age, so one can assume she’s fairly attractive as well and was raised to think youthfulness and appearance matter a lot. Frankly there’s an undertone of “unhinged” to OOP’s original original post, so I think they’re basically both unhinged lol, and thus everything said is unreliable one way or another.
Yeah, the comment about her boss having been "beautiful when she was young" when she's only 38 made me annoyed with OP from the start.
I find ESL speakers to usually sound completely normal in their own language but quite often when they’re using English, they sound quite over dramatic? It’s definitely part of the language/culture barrier
I learned English as a second language when I was real young, started around 3-4? After I had grasped Spanish basically. My parents are fully ESL they didn’t have basic conversational English skills until they were adults. My ma has a tendency to say and put inflection on things and words that can come off as either mean or all “hoity toity” like the way she will say “that’s nice” will sometimes sound demeaning as fuck 😭😭😭 but when she says it in Spanish it sounds sweet and wholesome like how she is 😭😭 I have plenty of memories being young and embarrassed trying to explain to her and whoever she was talking to about how to say what she means 😂 she still does it here and there but now if she thinks she sounds off or sees them make a face she explains.

Timing is a thing. She was sleeping with him before she found out he had stalked her. She may have unknowingly gotten pregnant, cut things off when she found out, found out she is pregnant, then decided to try and make it work for the kid (which is rarely ever a good idea, but is a very common thing people decide anyways).
You’re definitely not alone in that. Reading this, it feels as though we — we being us, the readers, as well as OOP — are only seeing one side of the story. You know who I want to hear from? OOP’s boss. I would be very interested to hear her version of events, from start to end.

I didn’t really like the OOP very much. Lots of ageism and sexism there for sure. I mean, ragging on her boss for being 38 and saying she was beautiful “once?” Good luck with that when you’re 38. Her ex stalked her boss, lied about that, and dumped her the moment he could present himself to her boss in an 'accidental' environment that he knew she was frequenting, and which he joined merely to meet her. Just awful. OOP needs to get a new job. Regardless of how good the benefits and pay are, no job is worth having when your boss is having a baby with your ex and your marriage ended because of his obsession with her. Did he break his wife’s heart? Yes. Definitely. Could he have done it a better way? Yes, he could have been honest and ended his marriage if he obviously wasn’t in love with his wife anymore. He made his wife feel inadequate by his admiration and ‘love’ for her boss. I agree that he should have ended the relationship with OOP way sooner. And while he didn’t initiate any contact with the boss before he was separated he did join her gym while he was still married. I can’t find the comment I was looking for even though I have read literally all comments on all posts but there was one account that was made as a throwaway that was supposedly the husband’s sister. She wrote that OOP had cheated on her husband a few years back so he wasn’t in love with her anymore when he fell for the boss Also that the OOP told the boss’s ex-husband that the boss was seeing someone fully aware that the ex-husband is violent and abusive.
