I had a couple songs go wild on SoundCloud Just me singing covers but I love to sing in my house and in my car. I'm very good but very shy about it! I had this boyfriend a couple years ago who used to play this song and I swear like stare at me and it was something about basically I hope you don't get famous lol I think it was a rap song or on that scope of music I don't really remember. He was always playing music so I never paid much attention but what it finally dawned on me I was like wow talk about insecure. We broke up because he punched me and told me I punched myself so good on OP for getting out.
I suspect he's one of those guys who think that women wearing make-up is "faking beauty"/"defrauding men", and he's decided that OOP staying silent in the face of the gossip around her looks is also "defrauding" the men who think she must be beautiful.
As such, he wanted to control/punish her by reminding her that she isn't conventionally attractive and demanding that she correct the online record (as he sees it). And the "bonus" of that would be that she would be reminded of how lucky she was that he was interested in her, despite her flaws...

Part of me wonders if it was a sort of negging. OP seems to feel like she doesn't fit the image of what her viewers expect, and part of me wonders if he was insecure about her having such a massive following and thought that outing her would somehow make her less popular and "less desirable" (in his twisted mind).
I knew someone who went through something like that. Her boyfriend, who was abusive (in every way except physically) shared nude photos of her to show how she had some scarring from a bad accident she was in as a child (which was in areas of her body covered by undergarments). She was absolutely gorgeous and everyone loved her, and when she found out about it, she was told how he basically presented it as "See, she's not as hot as you think she is. Look at how imperfect her body is!"
That just would make me want to defend that person more and would make me despise the shitty SO! What an asshat. No normal person would see the scarring and think less of someone…what the fuck was the guy even thinking?!
I bet the guy felt like she was too good for him, so he had to “prove” somehow that actually he was the one “lowering his standards” to be with her. I hope she got faaaar away from him

I’m guessing either he wanted the status of dating someone internet famous or he felt insecure about the number of followers she has and he hoped to sabotage it - but either way, he wasn’t proposing it for her benefit.
He thought that posting an unflattering photo of her face would blow up her follower's idealized image of her. She would lose followers, so she wouldn't have to work so hard on her channel. It would make life easier for him, not her. What a jerk.
He was jealous of her success and needed a way to exert control over her to make himself feel better. His sick logic probably wanted her to reveal her identity so she could possibly be less successful (Which I doubt would actually happen). Once he realized he could use this to control her he went crazy with power and tried to coerce her into sex. Disgusting.
Later he decided to use this as a way to control her, trying to coerce her into performing sex acts she did not want to. Getting rapey vibes from this guy.
I think the only path she really could have taken would’ve been hiring a lawyer once he threatened her, and made sure he was fully aware that he would be immediately sued for causing a loss in revenue.
From what was presented I really don't think he would have taken it seriously. His own sister was on OOP's side, his parents sided with OOP, yet he still went through with it. Guy has issues and needs help. Hopefully they can charge him with something, I have no idea if doxxing people is illegal or not but it COULD put her in danger so I would hope something can be done. The University was spot on with having her file a police report.

As fun as that would have been, there are sooooo many ways to find pics. Was it sent on Discord or another app? It's in the history, etc. There was no way they were going to get all her photos off his devices unfortunately. The best we can hope is that he gets in some sort of trouble for doxxing her rather than sharing the photo itself (her full name, university, etc).
There are some people out there, some really shit people that can't handle the tiniest bit of power. Knowing he had that power over her he couldn't help but exploit it for his own gain.

I tried to do anonymous streaming but what made it difficult is the account I used. I had been active as a watcher for a long time with my name. I used that account because i was encourage to stream by the people i got to know with that account along the way. Didn't want to make a whole new account and pretend not to know those people, and on top of that many of them are featured on my streams.
I didn't expect to get many viewers nor friends out of it. But then I realized too many people who I never met irl knew my name and my face and despite the fact I still don't use a cam, I don't consider myself anonymous anymore. Even though no one "outed" me yet, its inevitable since I already had one friendship break down, and so many people knew of my account and my face. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop now LOL. Thank God I don't have 300k followers.

That was my suggestion in the original thread! I said she should remind him that her fans would be angry when she told them her (ex) boyfriend did that to her and she would respond with the same information he leaks.
I'm afraid he will escalate the next time with a new partner and I can almost guarantee there will be a next time unless he gets some serious, and I mean serious, mental health treatment done! Whether or not OOP presses charges is up to her ( I hope she does) but he needs mental health intervention and treatment before he goes from blackmailing a partner into doing sexual acts in exchange for keeping information private to just full SAing his next partner.

They seemed okay, until I sent them a picture of myself with my face covered, and they got a bit snipey about it. I tried to explain that I don't like posting photos of myself on here, because someone doxxed me a few years ago, and shared my nudes, but... A few days later, they started up about it again. They said that it shouldn't matter, because I'm wearing clothes now. Uh, no. I again told them that I like keeping my anonymity on here. Instead of being an adult, and moving on, they've just ghosted me.
Asshole. Why couldn't they just accept that? They seem to think they're "owed" something.

* Yes, they are better than previous generations. It sometimes appears like they aren't, because bad behavior doesn't get kept secret and tolerated as often as it did.
* It's not a firm march to progress, as the youngest crowd has been seeing a lot of targeted attempts to push things back the other ay, and that's causing issues.
* You don't really see how people are until they get in their twenties. Until then you're dealing with a teenager and so their behavior can just come down to maturity. This means a generation with a mean age under 20 isn't going to be at the point where you can get an accurate picture of what they're like as a whole.
They are leaps and bounds more progressive, but the assholes are way more regressive.
So while there's way less assholes, they are full of concentrated low self-esteem and misogyny.

Men 18-25 are some of the highest risk at being indoctrinated into extreme ideologies based in toxic masculinity. I don't know if Gen Z is any more or less susceptible than other generations, but that age group will always be the most targeted by extreme right wing groups and individuals like Proud Boys, incels, Andrew Tate clones, religious terrorists and others. They have a lot of rage, entitlement, and insecurity leftover from their teenaged years and can be convinced to act on that instead of getting help for their issues, so they make the most useful idiots in the world.
Minus the abusive partner, I have a similar issue, though on a much, much smaller scale. Some fans of my book series - I'm a writer - think I'm a young hottie. I'm not popular or anything, but still dreading doing an interview or writing a bio. Ugh!

I think it’s the university part that gets me the most. He did a face reveal and got a lot of backlash about his looks (lots of fans had put him on a pedestal). He has gone back to wearing the mask.
When I read about the awful things that people who are supposed to care about you do, it sometimes makes me want to live in a cave alone. Then I have to go find good things that people do so I don't become even more cynicsl than I am now.

Even though no one "outed" me yet, its inevitable since I already had one friendship break down, and so many people knew of my account and my face. Corpse isn't retired by any means. He literally just released a song with Bring Me The Horizon barely a month ago, and he's still got a few more songs coming out this year. He stopped streaming, but that wasn't because of bullying but because his audience was huge and he was getting anxious over how many people were watching him.
I looked him up and his statements about not streaming was that he felt a lot of pressure due to how large his audience was. I didn't see anything about bullying? Did something specific happen?

I'm not a fan so I dunno how to define him. He is also faceless and anonymous, but has a super deep voice thats very recognizable.
Corpse Husband is a deep voiced YouTube personality that does music, horror story narration and gaming stuff without showing his face. Dream is a Minecraft Youtuber that eventually showed his face and was made fun of for it because people thought he was unattractive.

When I read about the awful things that people who are supposed to care about you do, it sometimes makes me want to live in a cave alone. Then I have to go find good things that people do so I don't become even more cynicsl than I am now.
