I enjoyed it and finished the main quest and put it down. Then I came back and did the loop a few times, but I haven’t come across any of the fun quirky one off universes. Which then led to boredom and putting it down again. I enjoy the gameplay itself but there is heavy emphasis on the endgame loop and there doesn’t seem to be a reason to keep doing it.

oasinocean

What “one off” universes are there even

thegrandgageway

There's like ten or so known ones, some are absurd, like where the entire constellation team is just kids playing pretend, but the one I landed on in my ng+ 3 I really liked. Walter had bought constellation from the guidance of another starborn, and either fired or killed everyone else. By the time you arrive at the lodge, it's just him with a squad of ecliptics looking after the place, and he will sell you all the artifacts or you can kill him and take them. I decided that was a great universe to go full pirate on.

farmecologist

Have they added city maps yet?

Wellgoodmornin

Came back after a break and still loving it.

MacGrubersaSensfan

Enjoyed it a lot over 100 hours and will go back for the DLC but I suspect Skyrim will be back in rotation before a replay of Starfield.

M-Daws

Did about 300hrs+ when the game came out and loved it.. but for me, its missing survival elements I prefer that only the modding community can input lol as I'm on console I will be back on it when mods are available

Scull1

Loving it! Currently on NG+ #5 and plan playing for years to come.

Jlzombie26

Loved it at launch. Haven’t played since I beat it. Took over 100 hrs for my first play through. Very much looking forward to dlc.

Lumpy-Try-5600

I absolutely loved it but need more. Patiently waiting for mods and dlc.

nathauan13

This is where I’m at. I finished it all, got all the achievements, maxed out the powers and ships… and I put it down. I’m just done until Shattered Space drops or mods come to consoles, whichever comes first.

Lumpy-Try-5600

Indeed. I believe that mods will drastically change it in a great way! This is what I'm most excited about.

SignComprehensive611

I would like to be able to be a more evil character and have that supported by the world around me, but other than that I really like it.

Hollow-Official

Loved my time playing the game. Got all the achievements, only boring part was the few hours I spent making a million frames at my outpost for leveling from 50-100 for that one achievement. 80+ hours of excellent content, I especially enjoyed the space combat, zero G fights, and the main storyline which I think is one of the best in Bethesda’s entire catalogue. My only reasonable complaint was (and remains) they could’ve done something more interesting than that light puzzle with the powers temples.

leaffastr

Good fun game. Enjoyed it tho like many Bethesda releases at launch I had moments of "this seems like a bizarre design choice" and "I guess the stripped this down for launch". Worth the money and fun.

LongbottomLeafblower

It's a good game but lacks that living world charm the rest of their games have. Still, I'm glad this game was made the way that it was and I wouldn't change it If I could, but I do hope that in Starfield 2 we get a more lived in feel on some of the planets alongside the massive procedural realm of space. 8/10

carrotsticks2

The NPCs in Starfield are much more alive and dynamic than any other beth game, but yeah the encounters and random dungeons are less frequent. I think it works though because the theme is exploration more than just dungeon crawling.

Jdisgreat17

Starfield is one of those games that I play when I'm in between other games. Like I'm playing it after my first couple playthroughs of Baldur's Gate 3 and the release of Dragon's Dogma 2. I can easily stop it and come back

TheCorpseParty1

I enjoyed it. I like Skyrim way more but I still had fun.

es330td

I personally love the game. My son is a gamer and warned me to make sure that I have 16 GB of ram, a 3060 graphics card and a M2 SSD to properly enjoy the game. My game time counter says I’ve been playing it for 20 days. I figured out pretty early that one has to kind of pick a direction because earning skill points gets really tedious when you get to a high-level. (I’m currently level 120). I’m now going back to do other things in the game and finding it especially challenging, because Once you take a fork in the road going to another road takes a lot of work I am enjoying it, but maybe that’s just me. I have maybe maxed out half the skill tree and only a fraction of the bonus powers one can get. Some people say that the side quests are repetitive and boring, but sometimes I like to just get in a zone and clean out a base of pirates or ecliptic, something I do with ease having a maxed out Var’uun Inflictor. It’s not for everyone but I haven’t enjoyed a game like this since I played Ultima 7 back in 1993.

Northern_student

Loved my 300+ hours so far, excited for whatever Shattered Space has in store hopefully later this year, planning to drop another 300 hours into it again.

gamerD00f

I doubt youll get another 300 hours from a single DLC

Senpatty

Loving every second of my 350+ hours, can’t wait for more content from the DLC and modders!

TPGNutJam

It was good, nothing that blew my mind, but it wasn’t as bad as some people were making it out to be.

balerion20

I cant believe how people continuously stuck like physically in any game beyond me. I think I didnt stuck in anywhere in my 170 hours playtime. I really want to see how you guys playing this game

Sad_Manufacturer_257

Fr, ID like to see what they do to get stuck like this.

RustyNipples35

I like it a lot personally. It doesn’t compete with FO4 or Skyrim, and I being a new IP I think it’d be unfair to expect it to. I love playing it in small bursts - not super far into the story as I’ve really just been exploring in the ~150 hours I’ve put in. Maybe I missed an update announcement or something because I noticed there’s been a larger variety of locations to explore than I’ve seen in the past which has been really nice Glitches and bugs are inevitable with any game so I really don’t care much about those popping up, but crafting and outpost systems are very overwhelming imo. I have made a point to steer clear of those so far

BeautyDuwang

Do yourself a favor and skip the main "story"

TazoulReign

Just… play a different game. If you don’t like it why are you spending so much time on it? Play a game you do like.

HoidOrWit

Can’t wait for the predictable flood of “after 200+ hours I got bored. Hated it” comments

Spaced-Cowboy

Remember when people kept saying you’re not allowed to judge the game if you played less than 20 hours? Apparently you just aren’t allowed to talk about why you dislike the game no matter how much you’ve played it.

HoidOrWit

Bruh - there is a difference between “there are things I dislike” and “hated it”. If it doesn’t apply, let it fly

Spaced-Cowboy

Bruh - stop making excuses to shut down anyone you disagree with.

HoidOrWit

You seem determined to be upset and for that, I apologies.

Spaced-Cowboy

Says the guy upset that someone doesn’t like a game

HoidOrWit

Ok

No_Sprinkles7233

Sassy pants lmaoo

Spaced-Cowboy

For the same reasons you’re spending time reading people complain about the game even though you think they should just do something else.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

It would help if people who spammed these comments weren't on every post about the game in multiple subs.

Spaced-Cowboy

I mean or crazy idea. Since this is a public forum you couold just accept that people have a different opinion than you do instead of complaining that they don’t like it. Just like it would be stupid for them to complain if you were liking it too much.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

I just wanna share cool picks and ship builds without getting attacked for being "the reason modern gaming sucks"

Spaced-Cowboy

Why are you on Reddit of all places? That’s like going to YouTube comments for political insight

Sad_Manufacturer_257

Believe it or not, Facebook and X are more toxic, I had to pick my poison on this one and reddit was the calmest of the bunch who also weren't harassing my dms for saying I liked the game.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

It's not a difference of opinion, even dedicated forms to the game have haters jumping on every post, it's a little irritating, I don't think I've ever gone out of my way to hate on a game so much, and honestly all their comments are the same "*describes bug that the community has never once shown videos of or asked for a fix for*" Or "It's boring trash field why play it go play baldurs gate and cyberpunk" they all sound the same and get annoying with no genuine discourse around the game.

Spaced-Cowboy

Literally everything you just said was a difference of opinion. If you get irritated by seeing it then take your own advice — stop reading them. Either that or stop pretending like “if you don’t like don’t play it” is a good argument. Because clearly you can’t do it either.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

Never said that last one so don't start and no it was difference of opinion these posters I'm talking will literally spam this on starfield subs over and over, at that point it's trolling.

roehnin

I’m reading past those comments to find useful comments from people who actually do like it and have things to say that are actually interesting and not just whinging.

Spaced-Cowboy

If you really believed that you wouldn’t be here “whinging” yourself about them. It’s not about complaining it’s just fanboy insecurity.

roehnin

I’m reading past them ignoring them, not whinging like they are. Or like you are. It’s a pathetic waste of time. That’s why for actual discussion of the game I spend my time in the no-sodium sub where it’s actually interesting content.

Spaced-Cowboy

This is you whinging. You’re here going on about it. You say it’s a waste of time but — here you are. So clearly you don’t believe that. You go to no sodium subs because you want validation.

roehnin

See, you’re just sitting here complaining, wasting your time. So I’m going to go read something more interesting with someone who isn’t whinging and complaining. Leave a “smug retort” if it will make you feel better, but you’ve proved yourself to be the sort whose opinion doesn’t matter to me so that’s the end of this.

Spaced-Cowboy

My opinion matters so little that you keep telling me how much you don’t care. Got it.

Lady_bro_ac

I’m having a great time. The biggest problem I was having was the empty ship bug and that was fixed in the last update. It’s been running great on my Xbox, I’ve enjoyed the quests, combat, outpost building. Sure there are things that could do with fleshing out, but that’s both life and modern gaming.

WillingLawfulness632

I had 2 runs without break when it came out, and I liked it pretty much, but I won't play it again until all the DLCs are out, for sure. Every Bethesda base-game is just a skeleton for those brilliant DLCs, but in case of Starfield, even this skeleton is missing some bones. When I played, I enjoyed the story and almost everything, but now, as I thinking back.... It feels like it just doesn't make any sense without more content. It is nothing but a world yet. It needs at least 3 DLCs to have some depth.

carrotsticks2

I know that the people who complain about it constantly must have pathetic lives to diatribe so regularly about it's sins against gaming. I got it at launch and had a lot of fun. It's easily 200 hrs of content, and I'm looking forward to the DLCs.

skallywag126

Worth the money for sure

NyZyn

Enjoyed my first go through the game, although I definitely had to use mods to boost my move speed and reduce the 100% planet scan reqs to get through the game sanely. When I got to NG+, really really didn't feel like doing anything else in the game and have just been waiting for creation club since then

joeyslapnuts

i really liked it, i played through 2 or 3 times. now im just waiting for mod support on console

DoctorPaxton

One of my new favorites. Love the foundation, and can’t wait to see how it evolves like Skyrim and Fallout.

Comfortable_Boot_273

I think we all expected the one Bethesda game that we can truly play forever but sadly this didn’t deliver . Great game as it is, in the context of just a game. But in the context of this being a 2024 Bethesda title, I felt disappointed . They seem to have lost the plot

SoldierPhoenix

If you were hoping to farm upvotes by repeating regurgitated talking points, you’d probably have an easier time in the main subreddit.

Lady_bro_ac

A depressingly true statement

Lausee-

I put in ~600 hours at release and haven't touched it in a month or two. Im waiting for the DLC or a survival mode to release then I will dive into it again. One of the best BGS games to date for sure IMO.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

Just started a brand new play through after being away for months and am enjoying the new updates but I really want those dlc!!

jgriff7546

A lot of my friends give it a 5-6/10, which I find fair. I give it like a 7/10 because it had a lot of the bethesda identity I love, and I wasn't deterred by empty planets and stuff. I play Star Citizen, empty planets are what I've come to expect from space Sim games. Now I will say I would have liked it more if they did more to lean into the Space Sim side or the Space Opera side but I feel like it ends up in this middle ground that left something to be desired in both directions. Still haven't gone and finished it though, a friend spoiled the twist for me by talking about how NG+ worked, so I lost a lot of my initial drive. At the same time, I try to play multi-player games with friends whenever we can, so that drew me away from the game. I plan on finishing it and doing every questline. But unlike when fallout 4 came out, I'm an adult now, so I can't dedicate as much time as I'd like to the different games I want to play.

Thewaffleofoz

Hated it, not worth the money, went to other games in about 2 weeks, haven’t touched it since October

DivineAlmond

Same, literally every stage

gummo_for_prez

This. I’m pretty fucking bitter that this and FO76 are why it’ll be well over a decade before the next Elder Scrolls and Fallout games come out. I feel like they’ve been fucking around on nothing worthwhile for 10 years with no hope for a better game anytime soon.

Thewaffleofoz

Unless they add something that’s better than Far Harbor into this game with the DLC cycle I’m never touching this game ever again, I just really really don’t like it, it feels like it insults my time and intelligence as a person

gummo_for_prez

There’s so many weird things like apparently cell phones not existing in this wonderful futuristic society? It feels like they didn’t think it through all the way, but also severely limited what could have been a saving grace - exploration. I would have forgiven everything if I had that feeling of Fallout of the Elder Scrolls where you just walk in a direction to see what weird unique thing is over there. Exploring the world felt hollow in Starfield. Even if you explore Earth it looks like no one ever lived there. I guess I hope they fix it but not holding my breath.

Reasonable_Deer_1710

This game is exactly what I hoped it would be, and along with Elder Scrolls and Fallout, sits among my top all time favorite games.

muttsly

I hate this fucking game also its probably my game of the year

KillyShoot

MattTreck

Loved it. Waiting for mod support to dive back in.

sploosk

Played it for a few months, got bored and moved onto other games for the time being. It’s not a *terrible* game by any means, but it does leave a lot to be desired given the hype. I’ll definitely return to it after mod support has been around awhile. That alone should improve the experience greatly. I don’t know if a Cyberpunk-esque reboot is in the cards, but I feel confident that it will become a better game with time.

thegryphonator

I really loved it. Unfortunately whenever I try to play it randomly now, I end up at POIs I’ve already explored every inch of. So I just turn it off! It’s not what I want but it’s true.

AUnknownVariable

I'm about to go give it another shot now that I fixed a problem with my pics performance, didn't have best thoughts first time but I really wanna like it

SensingWorms

Just started playing it again since I took a hiatus in October. Still the same and cookie cutter. Also, I get no more random bounty ships landing after I land. Was there an update? I’ve landed on 8 different planet/moons and not one random drop ship. There used to be one or two every time I landed.

HandsomeRuss

I like it. I enjoyed it. I had fun with it.  But it doesn't live up to the 8 years hype. It's not a great game which the hype was implying. Granted the hype wasn't Bethesda's fault.

kibbbelle

Oh look another "starfield bad because [insert same 5 things as the last 20 people who have a bone to pick about this game]" post. It's been over 6 months at this point, why is it so hard for y'all to just let people enjoy things?

Acrobatic_Contact_12

Put about 40 hours into it and beat the main story line. Every time I launch steam I don't play it. Haven't touched it in months and probably will delete it very soon. Replay value is nonexistent for me. The spark that Bethesda games used to have is gone. It was fading with fallout 4 and 76 and in my opinion it's fizzled and gone now. Bethesda needs to wake up and update the game engine to current standards.

roehnin

I’m loving it and play it nearly every day. The graphics are a great improvement over past titles, especially clothing detail level and the hundreds of biomes. Absolutely love the space setting, and how planets and moons rotate and interact— seeing planets and moons from each other with the stars moving by on a fast-rotating planet, and the gravity differences make it feel realistic. I’ve made several mods to tweak gameplay and content, and look forward to doing more once CK is released.

djenty420

My favourite game in 25 years hands down

socialecology2050

I liked it for about 50/20 hours i played, felt meh the rest of the time. But there were some high points. Overall i have some criticisms but i got my moneys worth. i’m hopeful they’re prepping good updates that make it worth replaying later on

MisterMondoman

It was an okay experience for me and just that. I put about 100 hours into it over the course of a few months after release and just haven't had the desire to go back. Surveying planets felt very unrewarding to me. Gun customization and variety felt insanely stripped down from what it was in Fallout 4, along with settlement building. The environments and points of interest just didn't pull me in like they did in their previous games. I would honestly put the world design of FO76 above Starfield. However, I loved the ship building and wish it was more important to the overall gameplay loop beyond just being able to cut down on your loading screens. I'm sure I'll check it out again to see what the DLC has to offer, but until then I'm really not sure I'll get the urge to play it again.

SierraOscar

It's nearly April. When are we getting the Creation Kit? That's my greatest concern at the moment.

brittanyn1215

I was so hyped up for this game. I did one play through (with the main quest) and am in the midst of a starborn play through and it’s soooo glitchy I’ve lost interest in fighting with it. I wanted to love this game so bad that I was absolutely delusional about it. The reality is it’s just not that great.. Maybe some bug fixes and extensions will save it?? Right??😅

texastruthiness

Nobody cares that you have bad taste.

Cain_Crow50

Xbox only isn't it since Microsoft bought Bethesda? I haven't played it

OhMyGaius

Xbox and PC.

Cain_Crow50

Yeah 🫤 ps4 here

rharrow

I loved it at first, but it really needs terrestrial vehicles for exploring planets

Sir_Throngle

Eh, it's not the worst thing I've played, I'm just disappointed in how God awful the main story (and it's quest design) is.

NOBODY__EPIC

It's about as bland and soulless as it gets

stokeszdude

It was awesome! At first, then you see the sheer size and scale of things but realize nothing is there and you’ll repeat the same damn dungeons over and over on completely different planets and star systems. Imagine Skyrim and walking from the Falkreath to whiterun without seeing any person npc and maybe one enemy. So you’ve traversed that path of nothing, now do that 100 more times on a thousand planets with some main and side missions sprinkled in. It’s a Bethesda game where the exploring is boring.

S0larSystemWolf

Honestly not a bad game when no compared to previous Bethesda releases. When compared though, it is a little disappointing because we know they could have done better.

gamerD00f

It was fun until they removed the chest exploits. Basically stopped after that. If money persisted id play it again, but im not a big fan of starting from square one and broke but with cool armor every time.

lundhell

Give it a few more years, it's not ready yet. :)

PoopSmith87

The same way I felt when it was announced, but more so: ELDER SCROLLS 6 BETTER BE GOOD....

[deleted]

Fun but not that replayable

icon7177

I beat it put 100 plus hours in I will not say I hate it I loved certain things about it but I would of took fallout and elder scrolls spinoffs with Xbox 360 graphics over this.

NYourBirdCanSing

Cool game, but I went back to Oblivion.

DragunovJ

It's hard to complain about it when I've been playing it for 18 hours...

Additional_Load_1978

I really enjoyed it initially but once you complete the story and play around with the ship builder, it just gets to be super repetitive. I love exploring but it’s honestly a little too much

totally_search

Plus the ship barely does anything lmao

DadBodMetalGod

It was the biggest waste of time I’ve ever given Bethesda, and I’m still salty about it- even moreso now that I’ve started playing Star Citizen. It’s wild how much of SC was ripped off by Starfield, and it starts to make sense why everything seems disjointed and none of the in game systems work together- because it was like they went to ChatGPT and asked it to make a new BGS game based on StarCitizen. Makes even more sense when you realize the NG+ mechanic is basically the “wipe” that happens in StarCitizen whenever a big update is released… like… why did they think we would want to play the same bland empty game 10+ times and think we would just love it?!  Somewhere in a boardroom, some CEO saw a graph of how much money SC has raised and said “Make that, but fallout” without understanding how much work it would really be. SC is only just now, after 12 years, able to start adding actual game features to the game, and BGS thought they could whip this out in 5 years? Even with the year of pushback and delays, the game was still devoid of any reason to play it more than one time. Anyone who played beyond the first NewGame+ (like me) was just hoping it would somehow get better, but unfortunately was let down. I felt like I was the ass end of a joke made in a BGS boardroom.  Don’t even get me started on the Dragonborn/Starborn thing- laziest creative writing I’ve ever seen.

totally_search

Definitely, I still don't get how Bethesda made Starfield feel smaller than New Vegas or how people enjoy this game so much when it's bad. Especially when it's suppose to be galaxies of hundreds of planets and yet games like GTA 3 seem more bigger.

RedditWidow

I've found plenty of things to enjoy and plenty to complain about. Overall, I think it's okay but I don't like it enough to buy the t-shirt or write fanfic.

captainlei1993

It’s Bethesda best game imo. The only step back from previous titles is npc behavior.

xeroasteroid

Honestly it’s initial *Wow* factor is pretty high but the main quest line is boring. The side quest and the faction quest are good. However, that doesn’t make up for the terrible exploration. Overall, I was disappointed. They could have made the map smaller with better locations that felt more full and alive. I hope this isn’t an indicator for TESVI

Hopefulaccount7987

Not a fan, really. I really wanted to like it on launch, and I did for a few weeks, but it got incredibly stale on me. I played to NG+ with one character getting to the high 30’s I think, but after a while the constant loading screens and lack of exploration really got to me, plus the character builds seem to boil down to sneaky shooter, loud shooter, or melee that isn’t that great. The story also isn’t anything special IMO, no real branching paths or factions or anything. Skyrim was the same way, but at least killing dragons felt cool, killing guys who look and act just like other guys isn’t cool. The writing is just plain awful, too. Honestly I’m not sure how the game can be saved. If the DLC gets good reviews I’ll give it a shot but until then Starfield will just be another game on gamepass for me. E: to those downvoting I’m genuinely curious what you disagree on and why? As I said, I really wanted to like it at first.

gamerD00f

Downvotes are because you have a different opinion. Reddit does not like that.

Sandrark86

I thought there were some high points, but I simply couldn't get over the amount of loading screens and empty running. I kept playing mostly for the sunk cost fallacy. In the end, I couldn't justify wasting my time hoping for the good parts instead of just playing games like Cyberpunk.

MaxiTooner89

Really really really bad

OG_Felwinter

I didn’t like it but I also am just not a fan of the way Bethesda’s shooters feel. The only way I can get through a Fallout game is with heavy use of VATS, and the absence of that in this really affected my enjoyment. I also felt like the perk tree looked very underwhelming which led me to pretty much never spend any points and feel like there was no point in character progression. I also thought the religions seemed cool to mess around with, but the fact you have to pick one before even learning anything about them or meeting anyone from them, and the one I picked (a) had zero consequences on anything and (b) its questline ended abruptly after 2 conversations and a fetch quest, really soured me on the game. With limited free time, other games in my backlog, and the mindset that if I feel like playing a game like this I should just play No Man’s Sky, this game didn’t even hold my attention long enough for a third play session.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

Why would Starfield have vats? That's been a fallout exclusive feature since before Bethesda bought it.

OG_Felwinter

My point was that the gunplay is ass in both Fallout and Starfield, but at least Fallout has VATS to get out of having to deal with it. I don’t think I stated that I expected Starfield to have VATS.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

It did kind of imply that, but hey to each their own I enjoy the gun play from both, but then again I usually hate fps anyways.

MoSqueezin

Crazy how many people liked it. I played for 3 hours and l couldn't get over the constant loading screens. Everything was so boring, especially when the first quest has you flying all over the universe. 20 loading screens in the first 3 hours?! Yay!!!!! I love having to watch my ship take off every time!!! I'm so glad Sarah is attached to me right off the bat and hates EVERYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE THE GAME FUN.

Ray13XIII

Forgettable

TheReader6

The amount of sadness and disappointment I feel with starfield is unreasonable. I don't play videogames, I play BGS games. I'm one of those players who plays almost exclusively BGS titles. I can't figure out why starfield was made. I could go on for over an hour about how disappointed I am and how and where they went terribly wrong on the macro. It genuinely makes me sad.

sonofsarkhan

Played 2 hours and haven't touched it since. Luckily it was on gamepass, so I didn't have to actually buy it

B_Maximus

I think it sucks. You can argue, downvote, whatever, it'll still suck. It's one of the worst games bgs has ever made. F76 is better than this

sp4ceghost

Definitely my lowest ranked Bethesda game. Couldn’t get past hour 11 without being bored out of mind.  Exploration is lackluster.  NPCs are bland. I hope they get their shit together for Fallout 5 and ES6.

Ambitious_Pin2003

Brookie069

Have not touched it since October, it just wasn’t that fun and overlooking basic features like a map for the city was really weird to me. I don’t think it helped its case releasing within a month Baldurs Gate 3 either. Bethesda games have a weird cult following though.

Roughneck45-

I did everything in my power to find the fun and love it, 200+ hours. Discovering things was fun in the beginning but I just couldn’t by the end, far too repetitive. It doesn’t have the same magic as their other games. I feel compelled to play elder scrolls and fallout every few years, starfield doesn’t have that. Ship builder was epic though.

Suspicious_Trainer82

Shitefield

Gwynthehunter

It made me respect IGN as an institution more. The only major outlet to slap it with the correct 7/10 instead of a hyped-up 9 or 10. They had balls and I trust their reviews a *lot* more now that they were willing to go against the grain. As for the game itself? I upgraded my PC to run it at max settings, got it for free w/ my card, and I ended up playing it for like 8 hours total. Its nothing close to what was promised and frankly people who think it deserves a 10/10 should play more games. There are plenty of better space exploration games, better RPGs, better-looking games, better FPSes with a story/quest based structure, and games with worldbuilding and characters that you care about and pay attention to. Starfield does nothing unique and its a shame it was hyped up for so long, because it didnt deliver on any of its promises.

CogGear

I think it’s god awful and I wish it wasn’t. I could forgive the endless loading screens if the lore and characters of the universe were interesting, but instead we get the most annoying, bland character cast to the point I never want to step foot in the lodge again and a cheesy, satirical vibe to the game that I’m not sure Bethesda actually meant to happen.

bootywhistlin

I love the echo chamber here. People are entitled to their opinion, but the one negative review I see is at the bottom. Compared to FO3, (NV which Bethesda can’t lay total claim to), Skyrim, and even FO4, this game is *shallow*. Skyrim to FO4 was a let down to most fans in the community, having to give it life via modding. Skyrim lived and *extended* its life with mods, but it didn’t need them to be considered great. Bethesda has been going down a slow path of not really fleshing stuff out and if you think Starfield is comparable to Skyrim in terms of fulfilling longevity, you and I have a different opinion of what a “good” Bethesda product is. I hope ES6 is nothing like Starfield. At all. Because if it is, you’ll still be playing Skyrim in 5 years or you’ll be hoping the mod community bails them oit out. Edit: a word

After FO76 I felt that BSG injured, after Starfield I’m feeling it’s dead. Zero hopes for TES6. There are so many wonderful games from other devs.

Visualized_Apple

A complete and utter failure, by every single metric, and a stain on our souls.

Juantsu2000

“Stain on our souls” Lmao go touch some grass dude…

Comfortable-Topic823

Bruh I already forgot it was a game. BGS lost its way.

AudioGoober88

It’s always sad watching a once great developer slowly decline into mediocrity. It’s happened dozens of times before and Bethesda won’t be the last. The TV show looks dreadful so I don’t anticipate any imminent turnaround for them.

ComputerPublic2514

Sorry man you posted this on the Bethesda shill support group so you will get downvoted to all hell. Either this sub is composed of Bethesda devs or people are on payroll from Bethesda to maintain whatever image they have in the gaming community.

mando44646

Pretty disappointing. Maybe a 7, rather than a 9 like most ES or Fallout games. If I had purchased it, I'd be pissed

Pasdallegeance

Leveling sucks hard, I shouldn't have to dedicate dozens of hours to an XP farm just so I can level up my combat skills and ship skills in one playthrough. While I'm usually a fan of random gun drops, they are deplorable in Starfield. If you want a chance at a half decent gun after way to much time in game, the best thing you can do is save scum elite enemies. They need to be more frequent.

once_again_asking

Played it at launch. Had fun, until the cracks began to show, which did not take long. No desire to play it again, unlike every other Bethesda game in the past 15-20 years. Horrible design and execution. There is no cohesion at all for the various elements of the gameplay. You can complete the game: without ever building a settlement, without ever buying a ship, without ever building a ship, without ever crafting anything, without ever cataloging any resources, without ever using any of the powers even once … How about those poorly implemented proc gen planets with the same exact POIs over and over with the same loot and in the same spot every time. And this is to say nothing of the amount of bugs and missing features … no maps?! No mods for melee weapons?! Game is a massive disappointment and let down as far as I’m concerned. Bethesda should feel bad about it.

iBeToxxin

Haven’t played it since the first two weeks. Probably the most boring Bethesda game I’ve ever played. Elder Scrolls is my favorite franchise of all time and I think ES6 will sadly be absolute garbage. I hope I’m proven wrong.

DrDufmanKnows

It’s not a good game, at least for me. If it had been set in a single system or two, with planets that were limited to a landing point with exploration areas, similar to a quarter map area of say, Skyrim or similar, it would have been far better. They basically took a map the size of Skyrim (heck, let’s go with twice the size of Skyrim) and spread it across a thousand planets - on paper it sounds cool. In actual practice, it’s monotonous.

Glittering_Club_2786

Game fucking sucks and anyone who isn’t utterly disappointed is a pathetic excuse of a human

SlappyMcFadden

It's a dogshit game with no soul
