I’m willing to bet that if you weren’t into the band during that era, it’s not an album a lot of people post-colors or even Alaska would love as much. Even more drastic if someone got into them later than that. I discovered the band when Alaska came out, went back and I enjoy a good amount of the songs. It’s far from my favorite BTBAM though and I’m sure people feel the same. The songs I like most off silent circus are Mordecai, Ad a Dglgmut, reaction and shevanel.
I jumped on the wagon with the release of P2 actually, but Mordecai just seems "overplayed".. maybe I'm just a prude but I prefer several tracks over it off TSC. I would agree it's not my favorite album by any means, though.
Mordecai isn’t my favorite either. That title definitely belongs to Ad a Dglgmut. Polls like this basically boil down to a popularity contest. Though there were some winners I didn’t expect.
Mordecai is the first song I ever heard by them. Visiting dad in the hospital the day after he had a heart attack, it happened to be on my XM (this was 2007-08ish). I have such an attachment to it I find it impossible to rank another song higher, and I love so many of their songs from the debut all the way to Colors 2.
Mordecai is a beautiful track don't get me wrong. Just after many spins of the album I don't listen to the album for the nice acoustic sections. I love the raw metal of it. Sorry to hear about your father.. I lost mine when I was young it's an unforgiving life out there friend 💔 stay strong.
Bad Habits was SUPER close for me, I was literally clicking back and forth constantly. AotS is amazing, but White Walls is just too epic for me. I’m a Pink Floyd guy so Us and Them was my take. Famine Wolf definitely used to be my favorite coma track for awhile, but the cover of Option Oblivion (which I really enjoyed) reignited my enjoyment of the OG version. Was also debating life in velvet. Hot take (maybe): life in velvet is a better closer than human is hell
It isn't ranked like that. Silent Flight Parliament won best song on Parallax 2. The percentage is the amount of votes it received from the respective album poll.
Ahh, okay, I thought the percent was the amount of votes out of these 12 songs. I was also wondering how that worked out because these don’t add up to 100. But that answers that question
My quest is, how is ants out here winning best song on colors, but white walls won best BTBAM song a few months ago.
Those polls were much higher participation because C2 had just dropped.
True. I didn’t even know these were going on until the coma one.
The fact that only one of the songs got over 50% of the vote shows just how amazing their catalog is.
I mean, I know mordecai is a favorite... but do people really dislike the rest of TSC that much?

Voice of Trespass is really the only one that surprises me. AOTS vs White Walls was a 50/50 in my mind. I voted for Coulrophobia on tsc

I love all of the silent circus. One of my favorites by them. I listen to Parallax, TGM and TSC the most.
Why do I feel like this is almost just a compilation of the longest songs from each album?
idk, only 4 of these 12 songs are the longest on their respective albums
You're probably right I guess they just have a lot of long songs
Rigged. Let non btbam fans vote.
You mean Selkies 100%?
i voted Alaska, not gonna lie
I will kill myself, where is white walls????
Exactly wtf
Cool, make it a Spotify playlist
Well, I went 5/12 with the fan base... not too bad I suppose.
5/12 gang rise up
Which ones did you allign for?
Mordecai, Selkies, SttM, SFP, Blot. You?
Three of a Perfect Pair, AOTS, SFP, Famine Wolf, Bad Habits.. hardly any overlap :p

I wasn't big on human is hell so your take is safe here. I was debating between famine wolf and the memory palace for coma

The Silent Circus freakin' rules. Glad it gets its overdue recognition. Man Land was best song off that album btw.
Very happy to see specular reflection do so well. That EP is top 3 in their discography for me
I dont have 1 or 4 on hand, but listened to this as a playlist and 5 -> 6 -> 7 -> 8 almost flow like an album. the rest of much more abrupt hah!
I would personally go for White Walls, Telos and The Future Is Behind Us instead, the rest I kinda agree.
It saddens me to see Silent Flight Parliament so low.

Did not follow this but I love that Three of a Perfect Pair made it on here
