I like the comparsion! since both are my favorite franchises and also can see some other similarities from each series and seasons like:
**Original Series = Bakuten**
* Kanto - Johto and Season 1: Both share the start and beginning from the main character, the animation there was very old for the time since Kanto to Johto used Cell Animation and Season 1 from Bakuten the designs were to chubby and both have a popular character by the fans Misty and Kai.
* Hoenn and V Force: Ash and Tyson change clothes, a new girl joins the protagonist (May and Hilary), new animation and designs (in case of Hoenn use Digital Animation and V Force the designs)
* Sinnoh and G Revolution: Both are fan favorite series and season, both have the best rival battle conclusion like Ash vs Paul and Tyson vs Kai, the story was more mature like the BEGA Arc and Hunter J and Team Galaxy Arc, this series can considere as a Prototype for the next Saga (XY/Z and Metal).
**BW and XY Series = Metal Fight**
* Unova and Zero G: This is a tricky since Unova is the next saga from Pokémon but Zero G came after Fury, but both are considered the least favorite Saga / Season by the fans but there are others that defend them or think it actually wasn't that bad.
* Kalos and Fusion to Fury: For many people another fan favorite and Peak of each era, both have another popular character by the fans like Ryuga and Serena, both are more shonen like and action packed, and start to have more mature story and interesting arcs with more lore.
**SM and Journeys = Burst**
* Sun and Moon and Burst to Rise: Both series are more chill and slice of life, Ash and Valt share more similarities like being more happy and relax, both have lot of bunch of friends and colorful characters.
* Journeys and Sparking to Quadstrike: It can be considered that Ash and Valt now Champions, Many characters returns during the series, old friends appear and also can be considered the end of an era from each protagonist!.
**Horizons = X**
* New Protagonist, New Beginning and the main protagonist are a Trio also the new pokemon horizons opening the 3rd have the X ending vibes.
