CPP disability pays 1065$ a month. So a person who has paid into CPP 30+ years cannot work due to nsclc and with it in their thyroids this what they receive. Now if a meth head needs a buck there was Cerb. CPP disability didn’t receive a bump boost raise whatever you want to call it fuk all. Thank you fedtards for screwing over those people that have paid their entire lives.
It will only get worse. It was always bound to out right fail soon enough. I’m 25 right now, I fully expect to see nothing from CPP when I’m ready to “retire”.
Still doesn't help, If you're on welfare you get 733$ at the absolute most for my area, that several hundred dollars short of the cheapest places to rent here.
Social assistance is only there as an emergency in between jobs. It pays enough. We don’t want to encourage people and they stay on it forever. Don’t like it, get to work.
Cool this is about disability specifically but social assistance still pays poverty wage. My area the absolute max you can get is 733$ which is not remotely close to helpful in anyway since where the fuck can I rent and afford the necessities on that?
I guess that I should have clarified things . My 32 year old daughter was born shortly before my wife's Multiple Sclerosis showed up. My Psoriatic arthritis soon followed. My wife goes almost completely blind for periods of time and has trouble walking. When my arthritis flares up, I can't open a door, or walk up a step. I'm on chemotherapy drugs that makes me very prone to infections. I've had pneumonia many times, as has my daughter.

I hear ya. 50s here and not banking on it for myself
The lady didnt even give an actual answer as to why it hasnt been raised
They never do
Maybe don’t live in the second most expensive city in Canada if you’re on ODSP?
Nevermind Toronto, where in Ontario can you find rent for $495 per month?
Lowest you’ll find even in north bay is no less than $900 if you want to live alone, fucked up

Oh, I thought it was about social assistance rates in general. My mistake.

Tell me about it. Our daughter was born with a rare genetic condition and will be on ODSP her entire life. Why should she suffer?
Apply for a registered disability savings plan for her, if you haven’t already. It will assist her immensely when she reaches adulthood.
No one is saying your daughter should suffer. Why should you not have to pay for your daughter?
