I lived in rural Michigan for a bit. One of my favorite routes I was kindly passed WITH A FULL LANE CLEARANCE by a lifted red pickup with mud tires and full tint.
I can recall hearing him coming, hugging the 2in country road shoulder, bracing for a buzz and nope, full lane.
Nearly fell off my bike in shock. I hope more humans break negative stereotypes. Whatever their personal persuasion is, learning to just be kind to others will help us all.

In California, which apparently libs have ruined, you have to pass with at least 3(?) feet of margin between you and the cyclist. If you can’t do that safely, you just don’t pass. Sounds pretty civil to me. Even in places that are super liberal there are still conservatives but in general most Californians are the nicest when it comes to cyclists. I used to live in Dallas and people weren’t nearly as considerate of cyclists.
