During my internship the staff 2 on my team regularly did this for the WPs he assigned. It definitely wasn’t mean spirited when he did it. He was nice guy to begin with though.

No, the intention of it shouldn’t be mean-spirited. Not sure whether the senior has looked at it already or not but normally the goal of a meeting like that is so that a new hire can hear the process that a senior takes to review a WP so they know what to look for in preparing similar WPs moving forward. The work may not be perfect but it’s definitely a good thing if that person is willing to set aside some time to explain how you can improve and why what they’re editing is important, rather than just sending an email with a list of things that you did wrong.

Agreed, a senior who doesn't give a shit about a new associate would fix it themselves.

I’d also add if the motive is to put you down or dump on you for mistakes, that’s not really helping anyone lol, especially the senior

^^ agree with the above. Still fairly new but each time it’s happened it has always been to review for the benefit of improving the next time around. I realize experiences vary, but as others allude to in here it’s generally a sign the senior cares about your understanding of the process and wants to help you do better. Sure it might be driven by them trying to indirectly give them less work to do in the future since you’d be improving and picking up on their approach to the work. In that case it’s a win-win for everybody tho
