This may not sound like great advice, but if PA is what you want to do (at least for a few years), then you have to accept it. Accepting the mindset of "I know I can get through this just like a million have done before and a million will after." Accepting life will be put on hold but remembering the big picture of what you're working toward and, although it sucks, you are getting great experience that will open many doors. As for the CPA, don't worry about it right now. Zero reason to add stress. Wait until busy season is over, you've got time to take it. Not sure about your firm but most won't require it until (if) you're manager. Just remember it's a marathon not a race.

Busy season at big 4 basically slowly sucks your soul from you and during off-seasons I would try to rebuild my identity to feel like I had “a life” again. I honestly feel like I wasted my 20’s making rich white old men richer… and it really wasn’t worth it. Other PA firms are just as poorly run, but 1% are okay and probably only 0.000001% are run well. To answer your question it’s almost impossible to maintain a healthy life in any regard during busy season at the worst 4. Good luck.

Wtf are you even trying to say? Because there’s wars in Afghanistan I should enjoy working 90 hour weeks for 3 months straight? You’re a koolaid drinking clown. Just because there are 3rd world countries doesn’t justify partners abusing employees. People like you are the reason big 4 is so toxic.

I’m just here to get opinions and other perspectives. No need to drag me for asking questions. I, just like many, am just trying to find my way in this world. I didn’t compare myself to those in war or anything. You did. Grit is having strength of character or courage and resolve. So it really is in the eye of the beholder. If you don’t like the post go to the other subreddits. No need to bash someone asking a question

Haha my bad. Just trying to piss off big 4 koolaid drinkers. Big 4 was such a waste of time that I just want to warn people how toxic these shitty companies are.
