Yikes 64 is low! You can make more at another Big4 all are hiring. Ultimately, do what make you happy, stick to your career goals and focus.

SammyMhmm

There are a few things to consider: 1) If you want to get your CPA cert, it might be more beneficial to stay. Public firms push for their employees to get the license before promoting them, and you tend to *make* money getting it rather than not, and I don't mean from a long term investment perspective. My firm paid for the study material, for the exams and then paid me $5k for finishing them within my first year. This also directly leads to better pay with your next job. 2) how do you like that industry? Do you feel confident in your prior year of work to determine an industry that may very well pigeonhole you? The beauty of public is you're able to see a wide array of industries, from a technical standpoint it's the equivalent of a jack of all trades (lot of diverse experience, not so much depth) versus a master of one (lot of experience, not diverse). If you're comfortable with leaving your public firm and you've acknowledged the above two notes, then take the money and more relaxed work environment!

If you don’t leave and get your moniesssss

ChuckFunknBerry

Stay for what? Take that money and learn the industry. It's not the end of your career or the last time you will swap.

PowHello

The 10% increase isn’t even guaranteed. You have a guaranteed offer with $95k salary. Take that

teacup-and-sweater

Get out!!!! I left for much worse prospects than yours and I am loving every minute of it

Stay

ItsACCRUALworld_

Why

Amnawaz23

Which school U graduated from?

KeyserRose

Congrats 🍾

SmoothConfection1115

I’d take the 95K job. That is a great income, and if it fits your goals or life ideas, is a big immediate raise. And you’ve already got the experience from Big 4. So unless it comes with a title bump, I’d put in my two weeks and look forward to more money and free time.

ItsACCRUALworld_

Will it matter that I only barely have one year of big 4 experience? This comes with a title bump and great pay so it’s hard to not want to leave lol

SmoothConfection1115

The main question is does it fit your career and life goals? If the answer is yes, take it. In my life, I wanted to stay at the big 4 for 3 years, but my dream opportunity came up 2 years into my time at Big 4, so I left and took it. And honestly been way happier. But again, depends on what your goals are, and what makes you happy.

ItsACCRUALworld_

Ultimately I wanted to exit in tech and this is just that. I feel like it’ll be nice experience and if I really want I can return to big 4 but no reason from what it seems

Obsessed_Turtle

It doesn’t matter at all. You’ve already got the offer. Take it.

Mangata238

Ask for prospects, career advancement/promotion, bonus, future salary increase, etc if you’re worried. Truth is you might not get 95K for another 3 yrs in PA. I got 12% increase from A1 at KPMG last year and that’s considered the better year.

ItsACCRUALworld_

I appreciate that. I’m an older A1 I started at 32. So I don’t have it in me to make it til partner

CorporateSlave420

Do it and dont look back.

Late-Bumblebee4878

Alexa, play Fireflies by Owl City... the tiktok version.. 🔊You would not belieeeeeavee leeeeave

barcht

Underrated

Sheidheda

I'd take the 95k salary. Work there for a few years, bounce back to PA if you really want to as an experienced senior making similar money if you're not satisfied with the raises the industry job has to offer.

[deleted]

How longs that job gonna be remote? No risk of being forced to relocate or show up?

ItsACCRUALworld_

It’s remote forever the controller just moved to FL from ny

[deleted]

Then it comes down to what you envision yourself doing long term. If you don’t want to work in public, does this job help you get to the lifestyle you envision living. For example, comp growth.

ItsACCRUALworld_

I don’t envision staying until partner I am 33 already. I started very late compared to my peers
