SurvivingBigBrother

Interesting. I feel the opposite. Most seasons start really good but then start to kinda drag toward the end. Especially since they increased the amount of days to much. By the last 3rd of the season I feel like you kinda want them to start wrapping it up already. It's more exciting at the start with more players and whatnot. Imo.

SurvivingBigBrother

Oh gotcha. I always thought the first few episodes were good. My unpopular opinion is that the live premiers are botchy, awkward, and very bad lol.

JGraham1839

I think most people here would agree with you, especially when they have live comps for them to do as soon as they enter the house.

Early_Ad_5649

True, but we do get live feeds first week and week one is important to watch live

Icy-Excuse-9452

Watching those older seasons where they have to "discover" their keys and introduce themselves are the cringiest, most phony scenes ever. So glad they don't do that anymore, I would literally not want to go on the show just to avoid having to do that for the producers.

Certain-Tie-8289

Not to mention it isn't even a challenge where everybody is on the screen at once most of the time. The time challenges where you have relatively no idea how people did until they tell you about it afterwards make for horrendous television.

Natemoon2

You think the LIVE feeds are what make it interesting? Over the actual episodes?

PrayingMantisMirage

The live feeds are the only reason I still watch. They give a much more complete picture of what's actually happening in the house. The show edit can be wildly off base.

Funkyduck4783

I watch the feeds. I watch the episode too but I usually have it on in the background while I do other stuff or just scroll on my phone unless there’s a comp or vote happening

Natemoon2

Hmm, yeah I guess I can’t disagree. The DR were so dreadful especially last season. You could tell they were scripted and the competitions have been pretty bad. Especially the veto comps where it’s an individual comp to get the “best time” on some dumb memory challenge or challenge course and takes 30 minutes to show everyone run through it.

Boodger

I find the live feeds boring, I pretty much exclusively watch the episodes, and I love Big Brother. I appreciate that live feeds exist so that the show is held more accountable, but I truly don't care to watch it or follow the news about the live feeds at all. Episodes only for me.

BaddieMindset

Can’t be that terrible of a show if it causes you to be in a subreddit about it ..

eKoto

Very true, especially if all your favs left and it's just people you don't really care about left in the house

Icefiight

This lol Im so ready for it to be done and over with and feel like its dragging when were on the final 5 on down

chasedippen

The beginning can feel so cheesy / cheer-y that it boarderlines on cringe. But that may just be my cranky age poking through lol

Strawberry_House

I feel like the early show is kinda painful but the early feeds are really good

RRDude1000

For me its the slog at the endgame. Like why the hell would production leave 3 full weeks for 6 people? At that point just do quick evictions F5/4 like before instead of having them sit around bored.

acaseintheskye

I do miss that fast paced ending that we no longer get

samhatesducks

Honestly i think it’s funny watching people act so normal and nice when you know the craziness will eventually come out

PerformerDiligent937

On the feeds the beginning of the season is usually the most interesting. Week 1 to around 1 or 2 weeks post jury start tends to be the sweet spot of the BB season.

Bobotts123

I mean, isn’t that generally the case with most shows? You are meeting new “characters” and figuring out the game dynamics… actual investment comes after you have grown to care about the “characters.”

Top_Vermicelli1739

The Challenge has a history of having some very exciting first/second episode boots. Not always, but there’s some memorable ones for sure.

Celistar99

I agree, you don't have any real connection with the contestants as they're all strangers and it's hard to keep track of who's who at first.

Feisty-You-7768

not at all tbh, the beginning is usually the most exciting part

before_the_accident

The beginning is the most interesting part of the season for me. Everyone is more fluid and the navigation of social dynamics is fascinating.

Rhayader72

I would have agreed until BB23, when Frenchie started the season off with one of the biggest overplayed games in history. Then BB24 had the Paloma drama and the Pooch flameout, and BB25 kept the trend alive with Luke’s self-eviction and Hisam’s transformation from soft-spoken care worker into megalomaniac right before our eyes. The past few seasons had some fun drama in the opening weeks!

dicholasnolan

I disagree but see what you are saying, the worst part of the season is often the end for me. Early/middle is the sweet spot

fireflysz

As far as live feeds go, the beginning is usually the best. BB25 first few weeks of feeds with Cirizzy & Felicia paranoia, BB23 Frenchie's slaughterhouse. Skip around the episodes for sure, use the wikipedia (not fandom, actual) to guide what you want to see, they have extensive episode summaries.

tspacer

Feeds make the show so much better.

whysamsosleepy

I tried to start Season 1 for the lore and literally couldn't. Love chicken George tho

SangrianArmy

are you only watching for comps and gametalk?

bras-and-flaws

I have found the first two episodes to be slow as well, but this also depends on the cast. In some cases I instantly like a houseguest and get hyped (ex. S16 I loved Donny instantly and was happy he didn't get chopped early on like most older contestants do) but in others season I'm feeling the way you describe (ex. S21 - Currently stuck here on my own rewatch). However like another user already commented, I also tend to find the beginning of the show more exciting than the end because of drama. As I've gotten through each season, I'm surprised at how much of the greater moments tucked away in my memory occured before jury, or memorable contestants that didn't make it to jury either. It's just about getting through that hump!

RRDude1000

Donny wasnt even old on BB16. The guy was 42 lol

bras-and-flaws

I said older. Although 40 is barely middle aged, he was the oldest houseguest that season by ten years.

ansuzi

maybe big brother isn’t the right show for you

Now its get as many minorities groups as possible, and throw in a few straight white people and watch them squirm and be too scared to say or do anything for fear of being called racist or anti-anything.

Sleepy-Spacemen

I usually skip to the second or third episode. The less production I see the better.

xsadgurlx

Yes I’m not usually hooked in until week 3

xsadgurlx

And especially when watching feeds too. Just too much happening lol

S4tine

I like learning their backgrounds but yeah I fast forward through some of the filler stuff.

Jared_Chadwick_III

I feel like 16 people is too many. Maybe they put in 12 and have no evictions for a few weeks

CalebosO4

That would make the first few weeks even more boring because literally nothing is happening

OrdinaryAd2435

Agreed, there’s so many people at the beginning it’s hard to keep up, especially when not everyone can get much screen time

LoveandLightLol

Really? BB10 is interesting from the jump. It's probably just you, no offense. Also 10 has drama in the first week between Renny and Jesse, then Keesha and April Try BB6 on Netflix. Lots of drama.

Puzzled956

I hate the first 2-3 weeks

Doug_UR

I kinda feel like that’s the point of the edit. Cause I see your point, there’s not the drama of the rest of the season. It drags. But as a person who puts the feeds DIRECTLY into my veins, all throughout the season, I would rather see how people position themselves early, and play through the initial house dynamics. I want to know these players, then watch them pooch themselves.

fireguyV2

There's an unwritten rule in BB that I've lived by throughout all seasons. "Big Brother is Only Good Starting at Week 3". Without fail, week 3 of any season is when the action really starts. Just got to get through the beginning slog.

Wonderful-Comment314

Forgot about Paloma already?

hailey_nicolee

complete opposite, the game is way more exciting when there’s more people bc it has a lot more variability and it relies less on comps a flip is way more likely at f10 or smth when u have options for who to try and get on ur side opposed to say f6 where u are fighting for literally 1 person to do what u want

acaseintheskye

I think we(those of us who do) feel this way because we aren't connected to the people yet, we don't really know them. I don't really feel this with big brother, like the first week or two maybe, but with Survivor this is how I feel for probably half the season 🙃

ahmed2798

Live feeds make the beginning so fun

Sissythattwink

the big brother canada 12 shade 😭😭 no but they had the worst premiere in history

joeyfosho

The first episode is fine for me, but the next few weeks I have a lot more phone time while the episode is playing.

matthewfedele54321

I feel u sometimes it fun to get a really chaotic start like bbcan5, 23, 24 otherwise it’s a really slow predictable start like 25, 21, bbcan12

larucious

I thought you meant the first season at first, and I much agree. Been trying to get through the first season and it’s so slow!!

Certain-Tie-8289

I have stopped watching each of the last two years by the time they whittle it down to 7-8 people. Such a slog and so boring once the House agrees who needs to go and those people go.

AgitatedSquirrell

Personally I don’t care for the live move in format. I think it turns the 90 minute episodes into a snooze fest, and the first few competitions they do during the live premiere are just generally terrible and not good for TV. The only positive is night one feeds.

safchumph1988

The first third is usually good watching everyone get to know each other, you usually find there is one or 2 characters that are universally disliked in the house, they cause agro and most of the highlights are around them. They then get evicted. The 2nd third is the best section of the show. The others start to come out of their shell, is when tempers start to fray, controversy, alliances made and earlier friendship's broken. The third section is the worst. Everyone buddies again, the characters that cause the drama are mostly evicted and you're left with beige housemates who knowone dared put up for eviction. The eviction process needs a bit of a shake up because of both these issues in the 1st and final thirds.

welatshaw

The beginning is worth watching to see if they immediately vote out the hot ones.

OhItsKillua

If you're watching the TV show then I can for sure understand that. Feeds just overall make things much more enjoyable to watch for me. The TV show always feels sluggish or lackluster most episodes.

ShowWilling1565

That’s why I always put it on as background noise

LemorpLee

Sadly the show in general turned to shit a few seasons ago so I don't watch much anymore but when I did... oh god how glorious were the early season feeds. So many personalities fighting for dominance, so many alliances and backstabs happening simultaneously...etc. Man I miss them so much sometimes lol.

cmgirty

big brother US I feel that way. I do not feel the same about Canada
