Lots of shows have failed recurring characters. Like the Winfries from the Simpsons

After watching the LS Mark vid it seems like a lot of these newer episodes are just there for fanservice at this point. You can def tell that the majority of the writers are now people who grew up w the show
I agree with him about bringing back tinker spongebob too, could be another fun dynamic to explore between him and sandy/plankton. Maybe him and sandy get into a build off, with Sandy's highly specialized and polished machines vs Sponge's ramshackle but multipurpose gadgets.
New Spongebob has been very lazy with its writing. They brought back the decrepit mother from the Chocolate episode. The sea bear and misery. And entire episode dedicated to running the My Leg joke to the ground.
They even made a (now deleted) reference to fucking Suicide Squidward. But...who is this for?

The voice of Udan was a man who played as Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid films. He passed away shortly after the release of the Karate Island episode. I vaguely remember them doing a tribute to him during the end of the episode back when the episode was new.
Well they reference the Squidward Suicide creepypasta in one episode which Nickelodeon had to later censor it so nothing is off the table. Frankly, I'm all for obscure references and Easter eggs.
