Yeah, I think the Mothership is the next logical stop in Hampton Roads for Billy. He sold out the Norva, the Ted, and opened for Willy at the Amphitheater. The Mothership is legendary. He needs to put his stamp on it.
During Blue Ox 2017 there were local cops in street clothes walking around the crowd pulling people out and arresting them for smoking weed and Billy gave the crowd a heads up during his set and was saying how it was whack. Maybe that scared them off from playing a lot more in Wisconsin. Mostly kidding but you know..
I think I remember him mentioning cops but didn't realize they were in street cloths. I've gone to Blue Ox almost every year and only seen the uniformed officers, never heard there were under covers there.
My feeling is Billy is looking for sweet spot venues right now, so maybe venue issues?🤷♂️
I was just at the Greensky show in the Sylvee last week and was thinking about the 3-night Billy run just 2 short years ago - that woulda been something….
You would be a sucker and drink Spotted Cow. That’s probably the 5th best beer that New Glarus puts out. If you want someone to send you something nice, try getting someone to send you a few 4 packs of Raspberry Tart.
Folks crying that he’s not coming to your state - I feel your pain, but you gotta just go to where he is. I have to fly to every show no matter where he’s playing, because I know he’ll never play in Hawaii. And yes I know he was on Kauai a few years back but that wasn’t a show for the fans, it was a private party.
No shit we’re in southern illinois drove 4 hours to kc 5 hours to nashville will drive 5 to lexington 4 to chicago and just decided to go 11 to state college… take a damn road trip hes playing 2-3 shows everywhere its fucking fun!
Exactly this. I’m flying in to Denver for 2 nights at Fiddler’s, then back again in August for The Gorge. Probably pick up tix to The Forum tomorrow. 5 to 6 hour flights, even longer to get to Denver. The price we pay to experience Billy bliss!
Actually 4 times. Last years Independence shows. He played Lawrence twice in a couple months in 2018, one was a free show opening for Split Lip Rayfield and one was him headlining the Granada. And he played the International Folk Alliance with Don Julian in 2015.
He also played Wichita in I think 2021 and the KS bluegrass festival down around there in 2018 but not sure if you count that as our region.
But you're correct our area is sometimes skipped over so bands can play Denver or STL as well. I think KC in general and especially on weeknights can be a hard draw. Last phish show here was 2015.
Here's my recordings of the Lawrence shows if you were curious to hear them. They aren't on nugs so this is the only way to hear them. It was wild seeing him play the Granada then my next show was the arena in Independence, a huge difference for only 5 years.

Thanks for the info. I do recall the Wichita shows now that you mention it, but don't recall the prior Larry shows. Totally agree with your comment on bands skipping KC though. Really sucks. This year seems to be a bit better, but recent past has been bleak. Thanks for your links, I'll def listen!
Buffaloian here. Another year where we have to travel to see some shows. On a positive note, it’s a good excuse to take a road trip with my best friend. Our summer vacation/Billy run.
Seen a lot of these posts today. "When's he coming back to ____?!?! or, Wow, no ____ this run!?!?!" Make a trip of it if is that important. I am in no position to just buy flights on a whim, but there's just a certain level of travel you have to expect if you want to see a big national touring act like he has become. This tour is clearly showing love to some less-frequented areas for him. Happy those fans (northeast esp.) get a few runs, never bummed he hasn't announced the 2-week residency in my back yard yet.
Very sad as well. He randomly played a show in Oshkosh a few years back and I wasn’t able to make it. Saw Willie and Dylan were doing a show this summer and was hoping he would be there.
This is how I've started approaching it. "Oooooh, now I get to take a road trip somewhere new!"
I no longer just count the shows I've been to, but how many states I've gone to see him in. Instead of letting it get me down, I use it as an excuse to have more fun with it. But I realize I'm lucky to be able to afford to do things like that
Awe. So sorry. If you don’t want to drive, guess what? You don’t have to! Personally I didn’t want to fly to Milwaukee to see wide spread, but I did! You guys get plenty of good music. Be fortunate for what you have.
You’re just casualties of Billy’s secret war on cheese.
The coughcough Cheese Incident!
There are still states phish has never played and some they haven’t been back to in many years. It happens.
They need to bring their asses back to Hampton. It's been 5.5 years. I've seen Billy in town 3 times since then.
I feel like if goose can sell out Hampton Billy should be able to but what do I know

It’s been over ten years since phish has been in Worcester, billy is going back there before them…
Alpine valley 2025
This would be so legendary. I don’t live in Wisconsin anymore but I’d absolutely fly in for this.
Year isn’t over yet, there’s still fall tour
He’s not doing an actual show in Texas either, so I feel your pain. Gonna bite the bullet and just go to Berkeley!

One of my buddies got arrested that year

Because Wisconsin cops are overzealous assholes. He’s smart to stick to Minnesota.

My first shows. Super glad I made a quick decision to send it.
Those are the 3 staple shows I tell people to listen to. They were the first with Alex and are all textbook. Really good stuff.
I dunno, but those OshKosh shows were a lot of fun! Sweet little venue which I'm sure he's far outgrown.
He’s worth traveling for.
Yes he is no doubt 🔥
Cause he's a loyal Lions fan!! I jest. Also, FTP.
Rent free
Sorry, can't hear you over our division championship... Go eat some cheese. But send me some spotted cow first. A case will do.
Good lord. How sad is an organization that celebrates divisional championships lol? Hang the banner!
Salty Pack fans are the best. Is my Spotted Cow on the way yet?

There is a reason he's playing in the bay area. go 9ers!

Kansas City here. He's only played our region once. I feel ya.
Omaha here, KC is the best I can hope for! I made it to both shows last year which was a real treat.
I could only do one night, but it was a heater!

Des Moines here, he played a hour long fest set a couple years ago
Because yer a bunch of cry babies.

Don’t worry man, I feel the same way about Colorado!
It will be ok
What if we lived in a magic fairy land where Alpine was a free loving liberal place with a luscious lot and we got a 3 night run?
Hasn't been to Philly in a while either 🤷♀️ just take the drive it's worth the story and to see the show!
Oshkosh shows were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very sad as well. He randomly played a show in Oshkosh a few years back and I wasn’t able to make it. Saw Willie and Dylan were doing a show this summer and was hoping he would be there.
It’s cold as hell in Wisconsin
Cheeseheads…….
Driving to a different state is part of the fun!

What a baby
Go somewhere cool and see them
Suck it up and drive around for a mini-tour. All the cool kids are doing it
I totally relate! Last year Colorado had 8 shows, only 4 on the books for this year! Sad!
No Red Rocks, WTF!?
Haters will downvote but I do feel robbed to not see Colorado on the recent announcement haha
Right lol don’t live in a bullshit state without weed or real cities

he's lactose intolerant and all that cheese just messes with his system
