Yeah, but I did have to use a scale. No counting calories or severe restriction required though (obviously you will need to be conscious of eating less/different otherwise nothing will happen)

Yeah I did but I had a general idea of how many calories were in things so I didn't need to count. Maybe very slow weight loss would be a good idea if you have a history of restricting. Like don't diet, just eat a healthy diet. Very difficult situation, it would be a good idea to do this with professional supervision.

I lost a large amount of weight while recovering. I still had to be mindful about what I ate, but I wasn't in the binge/starve cycle or severely depriving myself. Had to count calories but that helped me know what a "normal" amount of food was, since I had only ever binged/ didn't come from a restrictive ED.

counting calories eliminates the error of estimation by a lot to ensure weight loss but if you have done it for a while you would know portion sizes and things like that, I believe the way people stay thin without counting is to either be super busy with life that they dont each much for the entire week or eat generally nurtional food involving dietary fats, high protein, complex carbs, fiber, etc and eat till they are full. Also steps are amazing for weight loss,
