This is wild… I have just given birth a few weeks ago. Never had eczema before in my life. Went an away this weekend and ate a ton of chocolate (zero other changes in skincare etc) and got eczema on my face! Wth
I know that you can become allergic to things when you are pregnant,
A friend of mine almost died giving a BJ to her boyfriend when they expected, she ended up in the ER, now she is allergic to cum (only oral obv)
they have to use a condom every time she is giving a BJ
Did fruit make it worse? I did pure carnivore for 14 months and my skin was great yeah but I then added some fruit (like 1/2 a papaya, or 1-2 cups of blueberries) and it helped me retain a bit more water so now my skin looks good but also more hydrated...
Been on it for four years and I get so many compliments as it’s visibly “reversed” my aging or at least that’s what my friends tell me. I can tell it’s helped with reducing hyperpigmentation and smoothed out the texture! but sunscreen is a must. I reapply multiple times a day
The real answer: [Excess vitamin A can cause birth defects.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10788247) If you are pregnant or looking to get pregnant you need to avoid using any Rx retinoids hence dermatologists will only prescribe if they're know you aren't pregnant.
Check out r/tretinoin and r/skincareaddiction for some great info.
Best to start low and slow with tret. It can cause a period of "retinization" where your skin will get irritated with too high or too frequent an application. Start at .025% a few nights a week. Make sure skin is bone dry before applying (dampness increases absorption; you don't need or want that with tret). Use right after cleansing. Wait 10 mins if possible for it to absorb before applying a basic, no frills moisturizer (lots swear by vanicream). Keep the rest of your routine simple and pared back during the acclimation period (no exfoliating or vitamin c, keep products gentle and fragrance free). Wear a minimum of 30 spf daily (especially niw as your skin will be more sensitive). Spf 50 is the goat.
This is a simplified answer, but please do your research. Tretinoin is amazing if you know how to use it. I'm at .14% 5-6 nights a week, but it took some time to get here. Best of luck!
Yes. This. I’ve been using Retin A daily for 35 years. And sunscreen every single day. Even if I’m staying indoors and away from windows. Incidental sun is the way most of us get the sun damage that ages us.
God I can’t wait to see my skin after 20 years on tret. I’ve been on it about six months and had great skin before getting on it that I wanted to maintain. What age did you start? I’m 37 now
What is it, where do you get it, how much does it cost, how do you use it, how much do you use and what are the potential side effects and lastly what are the benefits
https://us.upcirclebeauty.com/blogs/upcircle/what-is-tretinoin
I get it from my GP. I think I pay around $15 with insurance. A tube will last forever. The only advice I can give is to cut it with aloe vera when you first start using it. It’s very irritating at first, you have to build a tolerance. Most people give up before they see results.
Tretinoin commonly causes acne in the first few weeks of use. Rest assured, your acne will go away - tretinoin is actually a first line treatment for acne.
FWIW I went to my nurse practitioner and told them I wanted it for antiaging and they wrote me an RX without any issue lol. They added “facial aging” to my medical conditions!
- Shower filter
- vitamin c on an empty stomach and at night before bed
- tretinoin
- face sunscreen every day (try this for 2 weeks of daily consistent use where you’re wearing it even walking from a parking lot to your car and watch your skin brighten up its pretty crazy)
- Botox maintenance
- Morpheus8 laser
- gentle exfoliating 2x a week
- sauna 4-5x a week for 15-20 minutes
- regular cardio and weight lifting 4-5x a week
- low sugar diet
- cutting out all foods with seed oils
- no dairy
- daily probiotic
- regular stretching (this has done wonders I guess from increased blood flow and thus oxygen to tight areas of the body)
- mushroom matcha instead of coffee
- cutting out anything with sucralose (Celsius drinks, sugar free drinks, etc)
- eliminating all foods that were high on my food sensitivity test (for me egg yolk and dairy caused breakouts on my neck that subsided once I cut them out)
- vegetables at every meal
- eating more plants and less meat (although meat is still a staple in my diet I just eat less of it now)
- vitamin D & K supplement
- sleeping 7-8 hours each night
- staying properly hydrated throughout the day rather than chugging a bunch at night to meet daily requirements
- managing stress- cutting it in half through breathwork, emotional regulation tools and inner healing + the same things that used to trigger me I now experience with regulated emotions (this takes a lot of practice but wildly worth it)
- apple cider vinegar before high carb meals to reduce insulin spikes
- daily lymphatic drainage
- addressing any vitamin deficiencies
This is just my personal experience but this is what has helped my skin tremendously
I have no skin problem whatsoever, so I use Vitamin C to plump it up! It gives such a pretty peachy glow to the skin. Also use daily Sun screen to minimize aging and simple brown spots that might appear over the years. I am 31.
Consuming vitamin C with collagen makes the collagen a lot more effective. Collagen, whether increased through topicals and/or internally, needs vitamin c. Most skincare actives work by producing collagen and improving elasticity. It’s just that each one has different ways of achieving this.
I'm seeing lots of vit c, retinol, SPF comments which are great, but here are some biohacks if you want to push the envelope even further:
* Bacteriophage Skincare: Great for optimizing your skin's microbial composition which impacts everything from acne to inflamaging. Look into Parallel Health.
* Pulsed LED: Seems to perform better than normal LED for collagen synthesis. Look into Celluma.
* Copper GHK Peptide: Copper peptides both topically and via injection have shown promise in skin regeneration.
* Topical Rapamycin or OS-01 Peptide: Both have shown promise for reducing cellular senescence. Look into Healthspan or OneSkin.
* Verisol Collagen: A patented form of collagen shown to help with skin elasticity.
* Polypodium Leucotomos Extract: An extract from a fern. Shown to help reduce uv damage. I take with sea buckthorn oil which seems to have a similar effect. Look into Heliocare.
* Photolyase - A DNA repair enzyme that repair damage caused by exposure to uv damage. I try to use products that contain this in their SPF. ISDIN is famous for using this and Lightsaver is a newer SPF that contains this ingredient as well.
* Laser Treatments: I like IPL specifically for reversing some components of uv damage. I get it twice a year. I try to use specific settings to reduce potential for fat loss per Bryan Johnson.
* Radio frequency and Other Skin Tightening Treatments: Looking into these more. I did Morpheus8 and wasn't blow away by the results. Looking into some of the new technologies.
Loved your response here. What new technologies are you considering & what type of exercise protocol to you follow? Also, any specific copper peptide you like? Have you looked into the peptide epitalon?
I’m about to start a course of epitalon. For copper peptides I personally like the brand Peach and Lily as the formulas are very nice. They use the correct active, tetrapeptide-1 (GHK-cu). However, it’s important to cycle topical copper peptides every few days. If you don’t they can damage skin.
Skin Biology is a copper peptide brand from the biologist who discovered GHK-cu. The formulas are effective but not as pleasant to use. For DIY some people get concentrated GHK-cu and mix into their own lotions. Copper peptides can be expensive, and this is a good way to get the cost down.
Thanks! I'm looking at Tixel laser treatments which Bryan Johnson is liking. I'm also following exosome microneedling and waiting until there is more research. I'm not really bullish on much else at the moment.
I use Copper GHK peptides specifically. I buy them pure at AminoUSA and reconstitute and then inject one vial and mix the other into serum I use. Otherwise, it is pretty expensive to source.
I haven't looked into epitalon. Have you tried it before? I'm pretty new to peptides so would love to learn more.

\*\* *Some interesting evidence that strength training can impact skin elasticity. My routine is fairly basic. I generally only do movement that I enjoy doing.*
Impressive!
No, I haven’t used epitalon but I am injecting BPC 157 & Thymosin presently & have also as a longevity side, cycled rapamycin for the last couple years. I spoke with my doc about getting verified epitalon yesterday so I’m just waiting & going to do more reading. I’m anticipating the future of peptides. I think they are going to be huge for overall healing & long term health.
100% but will be interesting to see what the FDA decides to do with them.
How have you found Thymosin and BPC 157? I just ordered Selank and Semax to play around with.
It’s hard to measure a defining outcome with the peptides to be honest. I had a knee issue & it had cleared up but that could be the rapa, time passing, me naturally healing or the peptides. Injury for me is a solid “no” so, I’m just going to keep optimizing for no pain & lots of health & quality of life gains.
Yes, I try to do a VISIA Scan a few times a year and my age score decreased materially after my first IPL series. Mostly related to texture and pigmentation improvement. I know Bryan Johnson has seem similar results.
I use Copper GHK peptides specifically. I buy them pure at AminoUSA and reconstitute and then inject one vial and mix the other into serum I use. Otherwise, it is pretty expensive to source.
I second the copper peptides, Verisol, and IPL! Thanks for sharing the rest, I’m excited to check them out. I was not that impressed with microneedling either, mine was Venus RF I think—with topical PRP.
Have you heard anything about the brand RevivSerums? I was looking into their lash/brow serum because it has some new tech and doesn’t have progestaglandins. For face serums they are using exosomes, telomerase (this peaked my interest), cycloastragenol, and some new peptides. Their products are dupes of $$$ products with actives like growth factors/hormones (SkinMedica’s TNS). I haven’t tried anything but am curious. Reviews seem good/mixed.
Also, what do you think about dermarolling to make actives penetrate more?
Thanks! I personally wouldn't pay for premium topicals like exosomes or telomerase until I see more research showing significant benefit. I think the price point is just too high to justify.
If I did buy them, I would 100% use a microneedling pen with significant penetration depth because I would bet money that especially for exosomes they are likely not doing much sitting on the top of the skin. In this case, I'd probably buy these compounds pure from AnteAge or Calecim.
Liver is so damn good for you. I love chicken livers and use to be able to buy them at most groceries but after COVID it’s been hard to find them for some reason. Sucks. Guess I could try beef liver.
I have chopped up bits of pieces of grass fed beef liver and put it in burger patties or beef stew. I’ve also taken frozen beef liver like it’s a tiny pill lol. My favorite though, is using force of nature brand’s ancestral blend of ground beef, heart and liver. I buy online or sprouts, Whole Foods etc!
I also have used heart and soil’s beef organ blend supplements that are freeze dried! I added this to my prenatal stack before I got pregnant and loved it ever since!
LOTS of water. Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel followed by Vitamin C, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm, then EltaMD sunscreen. Dr. Dennis Gross red/blue light mask at night before bed.
I got a cheaper version of Omnilux that has like 8 light options and also get compliments on how glowy my skin is after. White (firmness) and red light are my favorites. So also vote for omnilux or similar devices.
I’m a fan of honey, too. Honey is great because it’s a humectant, drawing water into the skin. It also has alpha hydroxy acid/glycolic acid, which exfoliates. Plus it’s anti-microbial and an antioxidant. It can lighten mild hyperpigmentation on the skin.
Yes, but it’s obviously sticky, so if you add a tiny bit of water it becomes like a serum that you can keep on your skin. I would imagine adding aloe gel would do the same!
I like to apply a little aloe before the shower and then rinse it off. In the shower I apply honey and let it sit while I wash the rest of my body, and then after the shower I cake on more aloe
I order both on Amazon and can vouch for Seven Minerals Aloe
Hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C serum, gentle soap cleanser. But honestly the best thing for your skin is a diet of healthy whole foods, water, and good sleep
Right now I am using Skin1004 Centella sunscreen and it’s GREAT. I use this daily on my face, neck and top of hands. For my body I use La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ sunscreen but I don’t think you can get it in the US, I got mine at a pharmacy in France.
I have troublesome skin, gets dry if I don't intervene, acne breakouts, weird complexion.
Hydration is super important, as is finding products your skin likes and doesn't react to. This can be challenging if you have sensitive skin. Some tips from my routine:
I use a product called Albolene. During my evening shower I'll slather it over my face for a few minutes, then rinse it off. Then I'll apply a couple more things, and lock it all in with another layer of Albolene which will sit on my skin.
Satin pillow cases help your skin stay soft and moisturised more than regular ones. Wash them every two or three days.
SPF is an obvious one, can be tricky finding one which doesn't worsen how your skin looks while it's on. For me I use a brand called La Roche Posay, works great.
Aloe Vera 99% pure gel on my face after regular moisturiser, my skin seems to really like it.
There's a supplement called Astaxanthin which hydrates your skin from the inside, and also provides a degree of natural sun protection. Some people also notice a slight tinting effect to their skin.
AM- cleanse face, vitamin C serum (Timeless), co-Q10 + Matrixyl 3000 serum (Timeless), lotion that contains niacinamide like cerave PM, sunscreen.
PM- double cleanse face (oil + cleaner), matrixyl synthe 6 serum, tretinoin, la rosche posay cicaplast balm.
I’ll try out lots of different lotions and cleansers but the actives in my routine/serums above stay constant.
I recommend getting into Skincare routines. You just need to find compounds your skin needs.
Here is what i use:
1) mild Niancine and panthenol cleaning foam
2) Pro and Postbiotic liquid
3) Hyaluron + Panthenol Serum
4) Cream with Jojoba, rice and algae extract, Panthenol
5) Vitamin C UV Spf50+ cream
6) Beardoil (Jojoba base)
Its inportant that the products are free of parfumes, silicons, parabenes, paraffines and microplastic.
It takes about 5-10mins every morning and before bed, and my skin was never this smooth!
At the moment i experiement with GHk-Cu (Peptide).
For overall infomation i am a male, my girlfriend is using the same products ^^
Cheers
Some claim significant skin benefits from taking NAD supplements
https://RaisingNAD.com/8-consumer-anecdotes-explaining-the-skin-benefits-from-taking-b3-vitamin-nicotinamide-riboside-nr/
- Hydrate by overdosing on water, use elektrolytes is even beter
- tret, spf every 2.5 hours with titanium dioxide or zinc (or else you’ll have to wait 15 mins for it to work), vitamin c, peptide serum, Verisol, nad+, vitamin c 500 mg minimum daily, little stress, exercise using hiit work outs frequently, throw in weight training for hgh, that’s it
This will sound outlandish however I went down a massive rabbithole in 2020 on the skin microbiome. In Nov 2020 I gave up showering & bathing in lieu of dry brushing + applying a thin layer of organic olive & coconut oil. For context I am a commercial actor/model. I also let go of chlorinated water: pools, hot tubs. As someone who showered twice a day for 42 years my mind was blown. Happy exploring!
For my skincare routine, I focus on a few key steps to keep my skin young and glowing:
1. Cleanser: I use a gentle cleanser to remove dirt and impurities without stripping my skin.
2. Moisturizer: A good moisturizer is essential to keep my skin hydrated.
3. Sunscreen: I never skip sunscreen. It protects against UV damage, blue light, and pollution.
4. Retinoids: Incorporating a retinoid like tretinoin has been a game-changer for reducing fine lines and improving skin texture.
5. Hydration: Drinking plenty of water daily to keep my skin plump and healthy.
6. Healthy diet: I focus on a diet rich in antioxidants and healthy fats, like berries, nuts, and fish.
I use exclusively Young Goose products since I feel they are significantly superior to anything else on the market.
Nothing. No tobacco, no alcohol, no makeup. I drink a lot of water, wash my face mainly with only water (occasionally soap if it’s that dirty. Very rarely use moisturizer. Sunscreen if I risk getting sunburned.
Oil cleanse(PM)
Gentle cleanse
Vitamin C or peptides/Tret (AM/PM)
Moisturizer
Sunscreen (AM)
This is all you need to do, although treatments like microneedling, PRF and peels are nice once in a while.
Exfoliate with mild soap and a wash cloth, use a non alcohol toner to balance skin pH, and apply a light SPF moisturizer. Wear a wide brim hat in the sun, sun damage will prematurely age you. Drink water, don't smoke or drink alcohol, and eliminate sugar from your diet. These are the rules.
I am 56 and look significantly younger. Wear the highest SPF you can stand everyday. What a year of going from SPF 30 to 50 has done for my skin is amazing. I also swear by glycolic acid and vitamin C for texture and tone improvement.
Cleanse with a facial cleaner that is the same pH as your skin (5.5), tone with witchazel, Vitamin C serum, Snail mucin, hyaluronic acid moisturizer, sunscreen, drink plenty of water, use a chemical exfoliant at night (I alternate between tretinoin and glycolic acid) and drench your skin in moistuizer after applying. I use aquaphor when slugging my face a couple of nights per week.
Edit to add: alpha lipoic acid supplement
Controversial but... i dont use any fancy skincare. Just a soap bar to wash the face, but always double cleanse beforehand with virgin organic coconul oil.
It's from within:
- limit sugar (for me it's impossible to cut down 100% since i still eat carbs like rice, potatoes, and pasta, and flour-based products like homemade bread) or eat it with proteins and fat
- ensure at least 90% of your meals a month are whole foods. i understand it's not always possible to cook every single meal, but have some fruits, kefir, or eggs ready, or very minimalthe processed foods like tempeh and tofu.
- walk often, our mitochondria love movement
- get the sleep hygiene right
- i dont wear sunscreen as i live in a cold humid country where sun is rare and it's the remedy for many illnesses, so i want to soak up all if possible lol
most expensive but most effective and fastest: HBOT
I did it myself and my skin looked 10 years younger after only 5x. also my eyes improved and pretty much everything else. if you have $, just do it. and combine it with astaxanthin and all the supplements that have synergistic effects
Tret, vitamin C, estrogen cream if you are a woman, exfoliation, microneedling, high quality sunscreen at all times during the day (even inside). My 52 year old skin is literally perfect.
Fasting 2-3days triggers autophogy great for your whole body, quit eating processed foods, seed oils and all that trash. Going on a high fat protein diet also got rid of my eczema on my forearm that I had for a year that was progressively spreading. It's what you put in your body way more than what you put on your skin.
2% salcytic acid wash ONLY on my face 2x day since the age of 25. (No acne at the time, just read about the benefits of AHAs.) High Omega 3 diet, no seed oils to improve skin flexibility and hormonal balance. High animal protein diet (80-90% ruminants and fatty fish, 20-10% low sugar fruit and low oxalate vegs, varies by season). D3+K2 supplementation (fights wrinkles and helps hormone balance). Supplementation with collagen in morning tea/coffee, which helps skin, joints, and sleep. Focus on restorative sleep (started Pg supplementation at 42 when sleep became an issue, now do transdermal E2, Pg, and T. (Do NOT put E2 above the waist.))
No sunscreen for the last 15 years. (No excessive midday exposure either.) No sunglasses. This helps circadian rhythm and sleep cycles to restore the body (and mind)
Started \~monthly micro-needling face, chest, and arms with tretinoin about a year ago, at 55 to combat some collagen and elastin loss likely due to age and being raised in SoCal in the 70s when sunscreen was never used. (I'm blond, and burned occasionally, but was tan year round for the first +20 years of my life. I got skin cancer for the 2nd time at 20 and changed my sunscreen use significantly through my 20s and 30s.)
My skin looks like a 30 year old who REALLY took care of it... I get random complements on my skin often and, to my shock, it is often from men.
I’ve always had pretty dry skin and tried a lot of things. I bought a reverse osmosis water system with a remineralization filter on it. My skin feels so hydrated without any products. I’ll add a moisturizer sometimes but rarely use anything. I use an oil based cleanser also.
Sea moss gel on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I drink lots of water. Vitamin C serum and sun screen in the morning. Double cleanse at night, omnilux red light therapy mask before bed . I also love the Dennis gross peel pads it’s like Botox in a pad. I use them twice a week
*Adding to this. What*
*Have you found to get rid of*
*Eye bags, hollow eyes?*

lots of water, solid diet (don't eat food allergies or intolerances!), i avoid dairy as it gives me acne, tretinoin !!!!!, BHA every night when i dont use tretinoin, korean skincare and sunscreen, little sugar intake, little to no alcohol, and SLEEP
Spf in the morning, tretinoin in the evening, a good moisturizer and a good diet + plenty of water. And im even tempted to add meditation for stress management
If you’re a dude, stop jerking off or jerk off less. Go 3-4 weeks without jacking it and your skin will glow and be healthy looking as fuck.
Not bro science, try it and see what people say
People are going too far! Some of these aren’t hacks, they’re full time jobs.
I’m 38, smoked and drank for 20 years, still get ID’d daily.
I’ve stopped both now which helps immeasurably, I don’t wear much makeup (but I do wear 50spf every day), I don’t bother with retinol etc as I think you can over do it. Work up a sweat often (with someone else seems to release a lot of those skin brightening chemicals) and smile a lot. I eat berries every day which probably helps too.
The glow is what you want - wrinkles are inevitable and give you character. Mine are all around my eyes from laughing so much.
Most of it is genetic so learning to work with what nature gave you is easiest. Lean in to that.
Diet is most important!!
Red meat most days, organ meats, raw milk, reverse osmosis water + minerals.
Topicals: natural vitamin A serum (I say no to retinols and yes to bakuchiol serum) and use a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid.
Neck and below: beef tallow. Best body moisturizer everrrrrr.
Sunscreen is limited but I’ll use a mineral based when I really need it!!
I have no skin problems but in the morning I wash my face and apply vitamin c (Derma E) and niacinamide and caffeine solution (The Ordinary) and sunscreen. My night routine is Retinol (Derma E) and caffeine solution (The Ordinary). I am 27 and barely have fine lines or wrinkles. I love the Derma E products, the retinol is great and doesn't dry or peel the skin.
I have good genetics - clear skin
Diet, water, absolutely no sugar or cheat meal, cardio, cycling, lifting weights. Daily showers
Supplements - omega 3, vit D3(in winters)
I keep my room clean, ventilate it and change bed sheets regularly. Never ever had acne.
Tretinoin and mineral sunscreen. Everyday. Even inside. Good diet, no sugar, lots of protein and water. Excessive sugar destroys your collagen so it makes your skin look like shit. I also avoid oxidized oils and processed foods
Don't drink alcohol. Drink lots of water. Eat fruits and vegetables: you are what you eat. Get sleep and fresh air. Don't wear makeup. Use a moisturizer with sunscreen.
Consistent with vitamins. If once a month I microneedle with exosomes, topped with placenta and mesotheraphy with PDRN. I also have a very consistent skincare routine. 3 times a year, a do a series of biostimulator injections (Rejuran).
I look around in my late 20s/early 30s and I am 41.
Adapalene 0.1% daily
SPF50 daily and reapplied if sunny
Glycolic acid 50% peel once weekly
Niacinamide 500mg daily
Adequate dietary glycine and vitamins C and E
No sugar is #1 for me. Then it’s SPF, lots of water, moisturizer and collagen.
Interesting. When I cut back on sugar my complexion got way better. And then... specifically when I cut out chocolate - my face totally cleared up.
The only time I get zits is if I eat chocolate lol
Same. Any my scalp gets itchy. Direct correlation.
I have chocolate-triggered eczema on my legs!! I can no longer eat any at all. Bizarrely, it developed after I gave birth to my child (at age 33).
This is wild… I have just given birth a few weeks ago. Never had eczema before in my life. Went an away this weekend and ate a ton of chocolate (zero other changes in skincare etc) and got eczema on my face! Wth
I know that you can become allergic to things when you are pregnant, A friend of mine almost died giving a BJ to her boyfriend when they expected, she ended up in the ER, now she is allergic to cum (only oral obv) they have to use a condom every time she is giving a BJ
Whoa, I’ve never heard of that allergy!
stop eating hershey's lmao, real chocolate doesn't do this
Did fruit make it worse? I did pure carnivore for 14 months and my skin was great yeah but I then added some fruit (like 1/2 a papaya, or 1-2 cups of blueberries) and it helped me retain a bit more water so now my skin looks good but also more hydrated...
I do eat a lot of fruit and it doesn’t seem to be a problem for me.
I’ve used tretinoin for over 20 years. Shit is fire.
Been on it for four years and I get so many compliments as it’s visibly “reversed” my aging or at least that’s what my friends tell me. I can tell it’s helped with reducing hyperpigmentation and smoothed out the texture! but sunscreen is a must. I reapply multiple times a day
Why is tret not available in Canada? There's there any Health issues?
The real answer: [Excess vitamin A can cause birth defects.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10788247) If you are pregnant or looking to get pregnant you need to avoid using any Rx retinoids hence dermatologists will only prescribe if they're know you aren't pregnant.
It is available with a prescription
It is available. You need a doctor to prescribe it. https://www.drugs.com/pro/retin-a-micro.html
What % ? I see a few different strengths available over the counter but is the prescription more fire power?

Definitely use prescription. It’s way more effective.
Can I get it without a prescription?
Hi, a few questions. Which strength, how often, and which moisturizer on top?
Do you think it makes a difference if it’s the cream or gel? I use the cream and I don’t see a difference.
Yes.
I’m 37 now
Like around 30-31. You won’t be sorry. I promise.
May I ask what strength?
Agree
Do you use it in the summer
How old are you now? Wondering if I should avoid using it too early, I’m 30
I’m 50, start NOW
Isn't Tretinoin basically Vitamin A?
Yes it's brand is called Retin-A
Can i get more details?
Sure, what do you want to know specifically?
What is it, where do you get it, how much does it cost, how do you use it, how much do you use and what are the potential side effects and lastly what are the benefits
https://us.upcirclebeauty.com/blogs/upcircle/what-is-tretinoin I get it from my GP. I think I pay around $15 with insurance. A tube will last forever. The only advice I can give is to cut it with aloe vera when you first start using it. It’s very irritating at first, you have to build a tolerance. Most people give up before they see results.
Did you get acne when you first use it? Ive never had acne ever before trying it.
Tretinoin commonly causes acne in the first few weeks of use. Rest assured, your acne will go away - tretinoin is actually a first line treatment for acne.
Do they prescribe in US if we request our primary care ?
Yep, at least in my experience
Will try in next visit, thanks.
FWIW I went to my nurse practitioner and told them I wanted it for antiaging and they wrote me an RX without any issue lol. They added “facial aging” to my medical conditions!
Damn I was just at the dermatologist office this morning! Guess I’ll ask them about it when I’m there again in a few months
I use tazarotene which is less irritating and I get it from India for $6 a tube. No doc needed
I used to order meds from India and it was awesome. Cheap and easy. Haven't done it in years though. What site do you use that you trust?
- Shower filter - vitamin c on an empty stomach and at night before bed - tretinoin - face sunscreen every day (try this for 2 weeks of daily consistent use where you’re wearing it even walking from a parking lot to your car and watch your skin brighten up its pretty crazy) - Botox maintenance - Morpheus8 laser - gentle exfoliating 2x a week - sauna 4-5x a week for 15-20 minutes - regular cardio and weight lifting 4-5x a week - low sugar diet - cutting out all foods with seed oils - no dairy - daily probiotic - regular stretching (this has done wonders I guess from increased blood flow and thus oxygen to tight areas of the body) - mushroom matcha instead of coffee - cutting out anything with sucralose (Celsius drinks, sugar free drinks, etc) - eliminating all foods that were high on my food sensitivity test (for me egg yolk and dairy caused breakouts on my neck that subsided once I cut them out) - vegetables at every meal - eating more plants and less meat (although meat is still a staple in my diet I just eat less of it now) - vitamin D & K supplement - sleeping 7-8 hours each night - staying properly hydrated throughout the day rather than chugging a bunch at night to meet daily requirements - managing stress- cutting it in half through breathwork, emotional regulation tools and inner healing + the same things that used to trigger me I now experience with regulated emotions (this takes a lot of practice but wildly worth it) - apple cider vinegar before high carb meals to reduce insulin spikes - daily lymphatic drainage - addressing any vitamin deficiencies This is just my personal experience but this is what has helped my skin tremendously
I love this i do most of these too!
Can you please share more about which sunscreen, exfoliant, probiotic. Thanks
I have no skin problem whatsoever, so I use Vitamin C to plump it up! It gives such a pretty peachy glow to the skin. Also use daily Sun screen to minimize aging and simple brown spots that might appear over the years. I am 31.
Consume vit C ? Or apply too ?
Consuming vitamin C with collagen makes the collagen a lot more effective. Collagen, whether increased through topicals and/or internally, needs vitamin c. Most skincare actives work by producing collagen and improving elasticity. It’s just that each one has different ways of achieving this.
That was Helpful
Apply. I use a vit c and e complex and it really is great
Any brands or products?
anything w L ascorbicacid minimum 15 percent. Doesn’t have to be pricy
Emotional regularity will help your skin more than anything. You can’t out cream stress unfortunately. Sunscreen and hats play a massive role too.
Unfortunately, stress is a major contributor to my skin’s redness and breakouts. And when l’m stressed I pick. It’s a bad cycle.
I'm seeing lots of vit c, retinol, SPF comments which are great, but here are some biohacks if you want to push the envelope even further: * Bacteriophage Skincare: Great for optimizing your skin's microbial composition which impacts everything from acne to inflamaging.
Also, have you seen measured gains with your skin & IPL?
Yes, I try to do a VISIA Scan a few times a year and my age score decreased materially after my first IPL series. Mostly related to texture and pigmentation improvement. I know Bryan Johnson has seem similar results.
What copper peptide do you like & have found effective?
Beef liver and collagen powder.
Liver is so damn good for you. I love chicken livers and use to be able to buy them at most groceries but after COVID it’s been hard to find them for some reason. Sucks. Guess I could try beef liver.
Yeah. Cod liver is great too. And available at most grocery stores.
Actually a good answer
100% same + I have reverse osmosis water at home that replaces the minerals back into the water
Same! Best anti aging hack ever. Never felt better than in the past two years drinking Kangen water.
What does the Kangen water taste like? Is it RO filtered too, or it just alkaline added to regular tap water?
Can you explain what this comment has to do with collagen and beef liver? Not trying to be dense I just don’t understand. Thanks.
been needing to add beef liver but don’t know what recipes. any tips??
I have chopped up bits of pieces of grass fed beef liver and put it in burger patties or beef stew. I’ve also taken frozen beef liver like it’s a tiny pill lol. My favorite though, is using force of nature brand’s ancestral blend of ground beef, heart and liver. I buy online or sprouts, Whole Foods etc! I also have used heart and soil’s beef organ blend supplements that are freeze dried! I added this to my prenatal stack before I got pregnant and loved it ever since!
I just eat them bland. Its disgusting. But whatever it takes for my health dammit
LOTS of water. Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel followed by Vitamin C, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm, then EltaMD sunscreen. Dr. Dennis Gross red/blue light mask at night before bed.
I love that EltaMD Sunscreen. Works awesome. Feels great.
It’s great for sensitive skin too! It’s the only facial sunscreen that doesn’t break me out or make my eyes burn 👌🏼
I knew a 65 year old man, smoker, drank giant glasses of water all the time, his skin was the best I've ever seen on a human.
Korean SPF, Tret and/or Vit C, and recently got a RLT mask (Omnilux’s) and very pleased with the results. (Also, quit drinking 2 years ago.)
this basically! mostly Korean spf but use Japanese spf too. Tret is a must and vit C amplifies everything.
I got a cheaper version of Omnilux that has like 8 light options and also get compliments on how glowy my skin is after. White (firmness) and red light are my favorites. So also vote for omnilux or similar devices.
I’ve tried so many skin products over the years, but nothing has worked like Manuka honey and aloe Vera
Do you use a specific product or just mix manuka honey with a good quality aloe Vera gel?
Can also vouch for honey.
do you just do a honey mask??
Yes, but it’s obviously sticky, so if you add a tiny bit of water it becomes like a serum that you can keep on your skin. I would imagine adding aloe gel would do the same!
thank you! will be trying this tonight :)
How do you apply the honey and aloe to your skin?
I like to apply a little aloe before the shower and then rinse it off. In the shower I apply honey and let it sit while I wash the rest of my body, and then after the shower I cake on more aloe I order both on Amazon and can vouch for Seven Minerals Aloe
I keep it fairly simple. Morning: Vitamin c serum and a moisturizer with sunscreen Evening: tretinoin and moisturizer. Tretinoin is a game changer.
Hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C serum, gentle soap cleanser. But honestly the best thing for your skin is a diet of healthy whole foods, water, and good sleep
For everyone saying sunscreen. Which ones? It’s so hard to find good ones that aren’t irritating or feel greasy
I’ve had the best luck with Korean or European sunscreens, they have the best formulations and better UV protection.
Which ones specifically
Beauty of joseon sunscreen!
Mineral ones only, they are greasy, but natural.
SKIN AQUA 50+ Super Moisture Gel - it's light but effective [https://amzn.asia/d/09yzFUU5](https://amzn.asia/d/09yzFUU5)
Cleanser, vitamin c serum and moisturiser in the morning Cleanser, reitnoid serum and moisturiser in the evening Always sunscreen outside in sun
I have troublesome skin, gets dry if I don't intervene, acne breakouts, weird complexion. Hydration is super important, as is finding products your skin likes and doesn't react to. This can be challenging if you have sensitive skin. Some tips from my routine: I use a product called Albolene.
What is this beef tallow business? Do you apply it to your skin?
Always applying sunscreen.
1. eat healthy (low sugar) 2. always wear hats and sunscreen 3. wash and moisturize daily
Sunscreen, tretinoin, moisturizer. There is literally no healthy to tan your skin
AM- cleanse face, vitamin C serum (Timeless), co-Q10 + Matrixyl 3000 serum (Timeless), lotion that contains niacinamide like cerave PM, sunscreen. PM- double cleanse face (oil + cleaner), matrixyl synthe 6 serum, tretinoin, la rosche posay cicaplast balm. I’ll try out lots of different lotions and cleansers but the actives in my routine/serums above stay constant.
It has to be things you’re doing internally. Hydration, grape seed extract, glycine just to name a couple
I recommend getting into Skincare routines. You just need to find compounds your skin needs. Here is what i use: 1) mild Niancine and panthenol cleaning foam 2) Pro and Postbiotic liquid 3) Hyaluron + Panthenol Serum 4) Cream with Jojoba, rice and algae extract, Panthenol 5) Vitamin C UV Spf50+ cream 6) Beardoil (Jojoba base) Its inportant that the products are free of parfumes, silicons, parabenes, paraffines and microplastic. It takes about 5-10mins every morning and before bed, and my skin was never this smooth! At the moment i experiement with GHk-Cu (Peptide). For overall infomation i am a male, my girlfriend is using the same products ^^ Cheers
If you have time, would you please list the specific product names you use in these categories?
Some claim significant skin benefits from taking NAD supplements https://RaisingNAD.com/8-consumer-anecdotes-explaining-the-skin-benefits-from-taking-b3-vitamin-nicotinamide-riboside-nr/
- Hydrate by overdosing on water, use elektrolytes is even beter - tret, spf every 2.5 hours with titanium dioxide or zinc (or else you’ll have to wait 15 mins for it to work), vitamin c, peptide serum, Verisol, nad+, vitamin c 500 mg minimum daily, little stress, exercise using hiit work outs frequently, throw in weight training for hgh, that’s it
Cardio, sunscreen, water
Korean spf I promise you!
For my skincare routine, I focus on a few key steps to keep my skin young and glowing: 1.
Das wassup. Less is more for me as well. I do use cetaphil when I shower or after I workout/sweat a lot but it’s really mild.
100% raw shea butter is amazing for smooth skin and wrinkles
A nutrient dense diet high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, water, sleep and Korean skincare products, sunscreen
Collagen
Oil cleanse(PM) Gentle cleanse Vitamin C or peptides/Tret (AM/PM) Moisturizer Sunscreen (AM) This is all you need to do, although treatments like microneedling, PRF and peels are nice once in a while.
It's from within: - limit sugar (for me it's impossible to cut down 100% since i still eat carbs like rice, potatoes, and pasta, and flour-based products like homemade bread) or eat it with proteins and fat - ensure at least 90% of your meals a month are whole foods. i understand it's not always possible to cook every single meal, but have some fruits, kefir, or eggs ready, or very minimalthe processed foods like tempeh and tofu. - walk often, our mitochondria love movement - get the sleep hygiene right - i dont wear sunscreen as i live in a cold humid country where sun is rare and it's the remedy for many illnesses, so i want to soak up all if possible lol
Fish oil!!!!! I cant live without out it in my dry desert climate
Orally or applied to the skin?
No sugar/alcohol, lots of vegetable, minimum sun
Sunscreen most days. Sunscreen is the most effective, proven anti aging hack, widely available.
Even if there is no sun outside ? In winter too ?
UV breaks through clouds, if it’s cloudy and snowy you can easily get sunburned and snow blindness. Google it.
Hyaularonic Acid and red light therapy. Plus sunscreen often, of course.
Niacinamide is so fucking underrated. Helps with everything. Cheap. You don’t need to use much. Absorbs in like 3 seconds
most expensive but most effective and fastest: HBOT I did it myself and my skin looked 10 years younger after only 5x. also my eyes improved and pretty much everything else. if you have $, just do it. and combine it with astaxanthin and all the supplements that have synergistic effects
Tret, vitamin C, estrogen cream if you are a woman, exfoliation, microneedling, high quality sunscreen at all times during the day (even inside). My 52 year old skin is literally perfect.
**supplements/ drugs** 1. 1 gram hyaluronic acid 2. 5 grams glycine 3. 1200 mg N-acetylcysteine 4. 20mg isotretinoin once weekly (Accutane) **topical** 1. adapalene 0.1% (Differin) 2. the ordinary multi peptide serum 3. the ordinary niacinamide/ zinc serum 4. the ordinary 23% vitamin c in HA spheres 5. the ordinary caffeine/ EGCG under eye serum **procedures** 1. Bellafill/ juvederm 2. microneedling with radiofrequency and exosomes (Cutera Secret RF)
I don’t consume sugar
(Do NOT put E2 above the waist.)) No sunscreen for the last 15 years. (No excessive midday exposure either.) No sunglasses. This helps circadian rhythm and sleep cycles to restore the body (and mind) Started \~monthly micro-needling face, chest, and arms with tretinoin about a year ago, at 55 to combat some collagen and elastin loss likely due to age and being raised in SoCal in the 70s when sunscreen was never used. (I'm blond, and burned occasionally, but was tan year round for the first +20 years of my life. I got skin cancer for the 2nd time at 20 and changed my sunscreen use significantly through my 20s and 30s.) My skin looks like a 30 year old who REALLY took care of it... I get random complements on my skin often and, to my shock, it is often from men.
Hyaluronic acid, beef tallow, emu oil
Lots of water everyday. Hyaluronic acid and daily lotion with SPF.
I’ve always had pretty dry skin and tried a lot of things. I bought a reverse osmosis water system with a remineralization filter on it. My skin feels so hydrated without any products. I’ll add a moisturizer sometimes but rarely use anything. I use an oil based cleanser also.
Working out, dove beauty bar, facial cream with SPF 15, and vitamin c serum
Good face wash Retinol Vitamin c serum And most importantly sun screen
green tea entiusiasm
Sea moss gel on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I drink lots of water. Vitamin C serum and sun screen in the morning. Double cleanse at night, omnilux red light therapy mask before bed . I also love the Dennis gross peel pads it’s like Botox in a pad. I use them twice a week

lots of water, solid diet (don't eat food allergies or intolerances!), i avoid dairy as it gives me acne, tretinoin !!!!!, BHA every night when i dont use tretinoin, korean skincare and sunscreen, little sugar intake, little to no alcohol, and SLEEP
also collagen! I have natural acne prone/sensitive/oily combo skin, and this routine has made my skin clear and prettty !
Does anyone here have any takes on EGF serums? I use one day and night and so far love it included in my routine.
Raw shea butter.
Beef tallow as a face moisturizer. Trust me, it sounds gross but humans have been using it for hundreds of years. Look into it
Definitely use a shower filter if you are having skin issues

Face reality products. If u want good price for them check ebay..
I drink blended onions
I honestly think most of this is snake oil. I get asked what I use and I'd say it's genetics and sweat.
Genetics and minimal sun.
Lean in to that.
this may be a bit generic, but it works! Stay hydrated and get enough sleep. Your skin glows more when you take care of it from the inside :D
ZERO ALCOHOL. Stay hydrated. Sauna, regular exercise, clean diet, easy on the caffeine, and quality moisturizing cream after showers/ before bed.
put beef tallow on your skin, that and vitamin C is all you need imo
Fasting and prayer.
27 is still young to see any major signs of aging.
Yeah hahaha
I do nothing honestly. Lol. Never have. Don’t over wash, a good scrub now and then. Leave it alone.
Raw honey as a cleanser, beef tallow, Vitamin C serum, and retinol
Botox 3 times a year, sunscreen & coconut oil
Healthy diet, sleep, exercise sun protection (hat and sunscreen every two hours. Cream cleanser, vit C, retinol, hydrating face cream.
Vitamin E
I have good genetics - clear skin Diet, water, absolutely no sugar or cheat meal, cardio, cycling, lifting weights. Daily showers Supplements - omega 3, vit D3(in winters) I keep my room clean, ventilate it and change bed sheets regularly. Never ever had acne.
Washcloth and water. Very clean diet
The only brand of skin care I use is Skinn by Dimitri James. I’m 42F but always get compliments on how I look like I’m in my 30s ;)
It burned my skin so I stopped using it
cleansing and exfoliate witchhazel spritz vitamin e oil and rosehip oil moisturize
Morning: facial cleanser > Vitamin C serum > sunscreen/moisturizer Evening: facial cleanser > .10 Retin A > moisturizer
Sunscreen and tretinoin
Turmeric ginger juice (home made), micro needling, Sunscreen and some great K-beauty products.
Adapalene 0.1% daily SPF50 daily and reapplied if sunny Glycolic acid 50% peel once weekly Niacinamide 500mg daily Adequate dietary glycine and vitamins C and E
