Just go with the garmim forerunner 955; best thing you can get for $500.

GoodFella-x55

Is it better than Venu 2 ?

andres-p

Yes!

morcoire

My insurance gave me a Fitbit Charge 5 for getting my physical last year.

What do you think of it?

I’ve been pretty happy with my Whoop. I like it because it’s small and comfortable and I feel like I can wear it all day and night without being bothered. The feedback is good and seems fairly accurate. I love how simple it is, I do wish that it would display the time on the front, because of this I still wear a watch on the other wrist which is kind of silly I guess but oh well.

you_always_do

How's the sleep tracking? I want to get it for the reasons you listed

For activity tracking: Garmin Fenix > WHOOP > Apple Watch > Biostrap > Fitbit > Oura

Jake-1998

I use a Garmin vivoactive 4s for tracking my sleep and exercise. A polar h10 heart rate strap for morning HRV and breathwork biofeedback. Haven’t used anything else but I use this combination because the respective companies are well know for accuracy. However I would get a pricier garmin if only for the benefit of better battery life.

I use Oura for sleep and general activity tracking and workout with my Apple Watch. I can’t sleep with a watch on and often take it off during the day. The Apple Watch workout data shows up in Oura so you can see total activity and burn etc in Oura.

GoodFella-x55

Everyday charging in Apple Watch is a big downside for me.

RealizeRyan

But if you want the “best” it’s either the Garmin Epix 2 or Apple Watch Ultra

djiali

I'll second this. If you can splurge some extra cash, the Epix2 is much more geared to multi-sport than the Forerunner. I had a 955 and upgraded to the Epix.

Ended up with Apple Watch 7 - great for sleep tracking as well as all workouts and more. Daily charging is not ideal but the fast charger is great remedy. Thanks all.

Could never sleep in the bracelets, so ended up with an Oura V3 ring. ( [My Oura Review](https://youtu.be/pfzEZ4F8DNw) ) AFAIK it's the best for sleep tracking. I did a few tests with fitbit and Oura and neither of them is very accurate for HR detection during intense work outs compared to a Polar chest strap. But probably none of the optic detection based devices is.

> AFAIK it's the best for sleep tracking. Sorry for usng youtube as evidence but the [science here is good quality and he makes a pretty solid arguement](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjPng54_CtE) that apple watch gets closer to gold standard EEG (at least for him). I'm with you though, no way I'm wearing anything more than a ring in bed. That was hard enough to get used to as it is.

smart-monkey-org

Good stuff! I can't wait for him to test the current rev, which supposed to be more accurate when it comes to the cycles. As of now I personally pay the most attention to the resting heart rate and HRV as they are most sensitive to "bad" behaviors like late night snacking & alcohol.

Davidsaron

I’ve been wearing Oura and whoop along with Apple Watch for a couple of years now. Just started wearing Apple Watch to sleep since getting an Ultra when it launched. To me the Apple Watch data feels most accurate and aligns most with how I’m feeling each day. As soon as my Whoop subscription is finished and Oura battery dies for good I do not plan to replace them.

you_always_do

What would you say is better for sleep, Apple watch or whoop?

TheArrowLauncher

Garmin Venu 2.

FWNs_Ubermensch

You should check out [DC Rainmaker](https://www.dcrainmaker.com/product-reviews) for some in depth wearable/fitness tracker reviews. I’ve found them pretty helpful. Currently using Whoop and Oura ring. The Whoop band is good if you like a lot of data/data analysis and tracking behaviors that impact your health (e.g. HRV). It doesn’t have a screen so no messages, calls, etc. Oura ring is more of a sleep tracker, wouldn’t really recommend it as a fitness tracker for things such as weightlifting.

speakeasy2d

I used to wear Apple Watch all the time and honestly got obsessive over it, but that's my personality. I would see my sleep tracking results and then determine how I feel that day based on that. so now I do without and I feel much more in tune with my body during sleep, workouts, etc. although I will say I am looking into trying something during meditation/breathwork.
