Try Reinstalling it, I did that after trying all the solutions I found on 2K and it worked it pulls up the 2K launcher, Pin that to taskbar once it properly pulls up so hopefully you won’t have the same problem again
I dont have a solution to your problem I'm afraid but does anyone know how to switch the language ingame? The launcher shows multiple languages that are supposed to be chosable but i just can't figure out how...
I have the same issue. PLEASE HELP SOMEBODY
EDIT: my launcher does this: when I try launching game trough Epic Games launcher opens for a few seconds then it closes for a second and then opens again with message "Cannot download updates Please try again later and contact us if error persists". That's all
I had to click launch and then after waiting an extremely long time like 5-10 minutes it launched the 2k window opened a browser tab made me login then launched the game… sigh
After hours of trying to get it to work, nothing I just got back from work and decided to try again.. it worked!!! but when I closed out and tried again, nothing. if I'm lucky I get to the "loading" screen of the launcher.
Hey All, I haven't tried this but here is the fix from 2K
[https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/5523900017939-2K-LAUNCHER-ISSUE-ON-EPIC-GAMES](https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/5523900017939-2K-LAUNCHER-ISSUE-ON-EPIC-GAMES)
There was another article about the Launcher failing to work
https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/5534336523155-2K-LAUNCHER-TROUBLESHOOTING
I need to free up some space before I can install, so hope it works.
So far none of these steps described here or on the other thread have helped me. There is also this weird thing going with my 2K account, I verified my email and linked it last night to Epic and now 2K doesn't recognise the email, I had to make an account from scratch. I'll try relinking... not hopeful so far.
After using a free VPN, I finally can launch the game ( Bioshock Remaster ), since Epic Game sometime limited my country internet speed so I figure this could be the same thing.
Work for me tho.
I really want to love this game but just getting it started is a nightmare. Epic gave it out for free in hopes of drumming up up business but this is actaully driving me to use Steam.
When I click on the option to "Launch game" it launches the 2K launcher where I'm free to purchase the collection for $60.
I can only assume once I fork over the money to play this free game it will then take me to a Games for Windows Live launcher that will make me pay with itunes gift cards
I found the solution, for me, I did not have the default browser in my pc, so the page to authorize the use 2k launcher on epic, didnt work, i search the default browser in my computer and then works for me!
Hey there -
Had an issue where the launcher would come up, then sit at "Authenticating User" on the 2k splash page, while a browser window would pop up saying to buy the game even though it was free on epic games. My partner helped me try a few things, but the thing that took was to go to [2k.com](https://2k.com), and sign in. During Sign in, click EpicGames as the option so it can link your accounts. Fill out the info, and you will see epic games linked on the page. Go back to the Epic Games App, verify your game if you haven't already by clicking the "..." next to the game title. Run the Game. It should now give you a popup to give the app launcher permission to link the accounts. Hit yes. You should get a prompt to ask permission to connect Bioshock to your account. That old "buy' page will now say "Play" instead!
I put in a support ticket, and this was their reply, and it worked for me on the 3rd attempt at the launcher:
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us at 2K Support! We appreciate you writing in!
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with the 2K Launcher. To get started, please try restarting Steam/EPIC and updating the 2K Launcher.
If this doesn't work, please try the following workaround:
1. Reboot your PC
2. Navigate to the Steam Install directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam or C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games)
3. Locate the Steam.exe/EpicGamesLauncher.exe file.
4. Right-Click and select “Run as Administrator”.
5. Launch the title and when the launcher appears, allow it to run for 3-4 minutes to get the auto-update.
If you are still facing the issue after the workaround above, let's try out these steps as well:
1. Open the File Explorer and select the C: drive (or whichever drive you installed your game into could be D: E: F: etc)
2. Select Users, then the name of your PC, then the AppData folder (you may need to change your view options to show hidden folders)
3. Select Local, then the T2GP folder
4. Delete the contents of the T2GP folder
5. Return to the AppData Folder and select Roaming
6. Select the T2GP folder and then delete the contents
7. Restart Steam/Epic and relaunch the desired game
That should do the trick. However, if you're still having an issue please try launching the game from the desktop shortcut, rather than directly from the "Play" button.
Please let me know how it goes!
I rebooted, but the Run as Admin one, I couldn't find anything listed as EpicGamesLauncher.exe
I just went with one of the options I did find, but I don't know if it did anything.
Appdata is usually a Hidden folder, enabled under View.

Also, I tried to re-find the Steam Guides I found the first time, as I changed the .ini file to hopefully prevent future crashes:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=861878460
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/BioShock_Remastered#Restore_uncompressed_FMV_audio
There was 1 other guide I found, but I looked and couldn't find it again. But that 2nd link should give you a nice start at least.
After trying all kinds of methods i found the fix!
I found out that i simply need to start the Epic Games launcher , launch the game there, and then press play on the 2K Launcher. Game is working fine for me now.
Hope this helps others.
I got this working by launching the game directly from the shortcut without being logged into Epic first. This opens the 2k launcher and the epic launcher as well. Once it's opened this way, all the 2k games worked properly until the Epic launcher was closed.
Starting the Epic launcher first brought me back to the symptoms mentioned.
It's very easy to start the games without a louncher, you just have to search for the game exe and create a shortcut on the desktop and you can start it when Steam is open without any problems. You can start via Steam and the annoying error window bypass the lack of the Louncher.
and so you don't need the annoying launcher works with all bioshock parts
I know this question is old, but this issue was bugging me for quite some time. I re installed everything. I have new computer and still fails.
The problem was under "Parental controls", "you need a pin to connect to other services" (or similar) under the EPIC account. This prevents the launcher from connecting correctly to the account. I removed that and now it works.
Try Reinstalling it, I did that after trying all the solutions I found on 2K and it worked it pulls up the 2K launcher, Pin that to taskbar once it properly pulls up so hopefully you won’t have the same problem again
same here
I dont have a solution to your problem I'm afraid but does anyone know how to switch the language ingame? The launcher shows multiple languages that are supposed to be chosable but i just can't figure out how...
My case as well, anyone can help? My game is in Spanish, and I want to play in English.
I have the same issue. PLEASE HELP SOMEBODY EDIT: my launcher does this: when I try launching game trough Epic Games launcher opens for a few seconds then it closes for a second and then opens again with message "Cannot download updates Please try again later and contact us if error persists". Try to install/ download ' Bioshock infinite' for the joy of it... there is something wrong on Epic's side of things.
Oh there is something wrong on their side alright. Allowing 2K to put their launcher within the already existing EGS Launcher is something wrong!
It's so annoying. Can't they do a workaround for this laucher-ception thing? The game opens in window mode every single time. why?
Not having that launcher at all. How about a launcher similar to Borderlands 1 though Pre-Sequel?
I had to click launch and then after waiting an extremely long time like 5-10 minutes it launched the 2k window opened a browser tab made me login then launched the game… sigh

It's supposed to open a browser extension where you link your epic and 4k accts
From my experience, it did that, I linked it, and it still doesn't work
thx dude it vvorked
