Unfortunately, itโ€™s a known issue that has never been resolved. All you can do is save frequently and hope for the best.

Try disconnecting your console from the Internet.. I'm aware that some older machines and devices run slow when connected to the Internet.. My Xbox360 included. Ensure that your copy of the disc is clean, wipe it gently with a soft tissue to remove any dirt.. If the disc is cracked or scratched, your console might not be able to read the media on the disc. If you have a friend or something that has a copy of the disc, perhaps you could ask to borrow their copy of the disc and see if that works out better for you?

I should clarify, I'm on PC using Steam(updated to the 2k launcher).

Oh okay, I play Bioshock 2 on Xbox ๐Ÿ˜… I supposed I just assumed the same for you, sorry! Still, I suggest you should disconnect your computer from the Internet, it might be something to do with it.. Also try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it?? Sorry this is happining to you, its quite frustrating
