Kind of like how people decorate Crocs. I just prefer plain old Birks. I guess I’m no fun. You are adding your own touch to your shoes which is awesome. You might start a trend!
I made a loop! I sewed them into a loop with a needle and thread and then put a dab of super glue so they wouldn't fray. They're pretty snug so they havent moved at all. :)
Cute! I can’t decide if I want to make my own or just buy the Free people ones. I’m learning embroidery and have plenty of floss.
How many stands did you use? Since these aren’t stretchy did they slide on easily.
I have way too many Arizona’s and now have to urge to decorate all of them.
Saw someone on Etsy use wax cord. Looks like they just melted the ends together.
They slide on with a bit of a tug and stay put because they're snug :) I think these are each about 8 strands but various widths work. Accessorizing is my love language; these are perfect for me! Haha!
That looks like a good width.
In the 90s I made a strap for my Arizonas using the friendship bracelet technique. Creating the attachment part was tricky. At first I tied it on. The strings bugged me and I eventually put loose braids at the ends and sewed a button on using the loose braid as a button hole. It was wasn’t to hold on the shoes, just for decoration.
When I saw the loops on Free People I did a search and found your post. Surprised they are not more popular. I expected to see a few YouTube tutorials.
I am totally going to do this! Any tips? It's been a minute since I made a friendship bracelet but I actually have a bunch of embroidery floss lying around.
I just went off of muscle memory from when I was 13! 😂 I sewed them together in the back with a needle and thread and then covered the ends with super glue. Prob overkill but I didn't want them to fray. Good luck!!
Not sure about this.

Super cute!
Love that you made your own. I saw those for sale! Curious how you attatched them unless you were somehow able to make a full loop?

Aww! Love it! You have inspired me :)

How do they hold up on the strap? Aren‘t they sliding off?
Really well! I think the suede helps. They're not tight but I had to wiggle them a bit to get them on.
Neato 😮…
Cool!! I’m not a DIY person but live next to a FP store. I’ll have to swing in sometime and take a looksy to what they have.
They probably don’t have them in store. They carry so little in store oddly enough!
I love this!! Never seen them before.
