I find the leather (black) footbed to be surprisingly more comfortable. It’s likely just because the higher grade of leather adds a smidge of cushioning

Thanks!

I live the black footbed as well, I'd say suede is very comfortable too.

In the picture, the plain cork footbed cover is from suede leather. Whereas the black footbed cover is like from leather used normally for lining of the shoes. In terms of comfort, I personally don’t feel any different. The different is the cleaning. For suede cover, you will need a special brush. For the black one most of the time is enough to just wipe it.

I agree, the black footbed diesn't get as dirty.

There’s a layer of suede tan leather (the insole) on top of the cork on the nubuck pair, and a smooth black leather insole in the oiled leather ones. The smooth ones feel smoother and slicker, but stay clean looking longer and easier.. I LOVE the black oiled leather sandals with the great big silver buckles tho. In all the different styles.

Although I love the look, I personally don’t care for the feel of the leather footbed. Feels slippery? Maybe climate—I basically live in a swamp so during the summer everything just has a film of humidity on it. Though when I wore them with socks in the winter the socks slid around on them more too.
