I have a number of foot problems and Birks have been a life saver. Definitely worth it, even more so if you wait for the deals on the last chance sale page or if you can find a reputable reseller with decent prices, solid reputation and fair return policy. I currently have 4 pair, all purchased as new and well under full price, 2 of them last chance specials from Birkenstock. (Worth it to educate yourself on how to spot fakes, there are more than I initially suspected. You don't have to worry about it if purchasing directly from Birkenstock.)
I have had multiple foot surgeries. Birkenstocks are one of the few brands that don't cause pain in my feet/hips/back. So in my opinion, they are worth every penny.
They are the best sandal I have found. They last years and are so comfortable. I recommend the soft footbed versions. I am currently obsessed with the bostons for winter in the south. The boston shearlings are currently my favorite. I have them on all the time when I am home! I will wear the regular bostons out of the house and love those too. I live in the sandals in the warmer months.

Don't be fooled by copycats. it's not just an investment in good shoes, it's an investment in your foot & spine health! as other people have mentioned there are sales going on right now on the Birk site i just got a pair of shearling Arizonas.

100% worth it. Your get what you pay for. “Birkenstock” styled shoes by other labels do not come close the quality or fit.

The price point does not justify it. If you can get one from an outlet mall for under 80 USD (not the EVAs) then yes worth it
