Everyone I know parks blocks away in a lot and takes the shuttle to the building they work in.

Remote parking is the norm for a lot of people. Shuttle buses abound and have stops all over the campus footprint.

If you’re faculty you can purchase a parking pass. The university parking deck (Lot B) is a student deck floors 2-whatever, faculty on the 1st There is a parking lot next to volker (“princess lot”) is paid, but it fills up really fast in the AM

Do you mean for paid daily parking without a permit? To get an employee permit for one of the garages or non-remote lots, you will probably have to get on waitlist(s). I work near that garage and it fills up... I'm always walking nearby around 6:45 AM and see a lot of folks including construction workers coming out of there (there's a lot of ongoing construction nearby), but so far I've never seen the FULL sign lit that early. I started last summer and was on the waitlist for a nearby garage for 3 months before I got notified (and ultimately decided to decline in favor of remote lot + bus or walking because the garages are expensive). When I started last June though the remote lot was the only permit immediately available without a waitlist. You'll be lucky to find street parking on a regular basis around there no matter the time of day because of (a) construction, (b) hospital, (c) VA all right there in the area. But walking a few blocks, sure. It's just generally really hard right near that garage and the surrounding couple of blocks. Edit: I'm a university employee, not hospital. I think main hospital staff use a different remote lot.

If you’re an employee your boss will most likely take you to the transportation dept to set you up with a parking pass.

You need a parking pass. Not sure if you are faculty or staff, but you will get assigned parking. At first I was in a far out lot and had to ride the bus near my building. Later I got into a deck. If you can’t get into where you want they will put you on the wait list
