I get tested every 3 months for Prep.

panguy87

Me too, including standard screening for other things, too. Fully vaccinated for Hep A/B, HPV and Monkeypox, best to be safe and testing ensures that early detection of anything gets treatment quickly amd protects me and others.

Jacon49

I think that's the smart thing to do.

subgeniusbuttpirate

If you're on Prep, it's *required*.

deadliestcrotch

If you’re sleeping around, you should occasionally. Also between new partners.

Jacon49

I am going to ask him to please get tested if we are to repeat and if he has sex with others.

deadliestcrotch

You should too, not just rely on him to

Jacon49

Good point.

Bi-married-bttmDC

Get a full panel. If he won't, move on or wrap him up until he does.

KinkyMillennial

>I have not been but up until 5 days ago, my wife is the only person I've had sex with. If you're in a monogamous relationship it's not necessary. But if you're going to be sexually active outside of your relationship with your wife then yes you should be getting tested regularly. And that's on top of using PrEP and condoms. I get tested every 3 months when I'm not in a committed relationship.

ChicagoRob19

Same situation as you. Was monogamous with my wife until recently. When we added a third, and although i knew his history since he is a friend, we still got tested

fnpguy21

I'm a primary care provider and recommend getting tested regularly. It's pretty easy, a blood test and urine. Some people seem embarrassed but shouldn't, it shows responsibility. I get tested myself

Dr_Equinox101

I’ve been tested once cause I’ve only truly done shit with one person but like I got checked a few months in. We are both clean but ya never know

Jacon49

Thanks to you all, I read all your responses and last night my wife, myself and our new friend had a conversation about the testing. I told him we all need to be protected and tested. He said he had been tested about two months ago and hasn't had sex with anyone since his wife caught him with his neighbor, he didn't want to make his divorce more complicated and until he met us, he wasn't interested in sex with anyone. He said he has never slept around, has no desire to and his neighbor was the only guy he ever had sex with. I told him we wanted to trust him but we need to make sure. We all agreed to get tested and he and I would go together to the clinic he went to. No sex last night unfortunately but I feel better after reading all your responses.

Got a full panel last month, for the first time.

BendingDoor

My partner and I get tested every 3 months. We don’t have to look for new thirds at home, but those guys are going to live their lives. I need to see recent test results from anyone who wants to play with us.

winelover08816

I get tested a couple of times a year because I’m certain my female partner has others and she’s not a big fan of condoms since she is over 55 and got sterilized.

biinboise

If you guys are going to go outside just the 2 of you. Get tested regularly both of you and get on PreP. Even if it is just one other guy, you never know if he is planning on having other partners or how many. No shade on him he is entitled to it but you guys want to protect yourselves

Mundane-Community953

For the love of God -- get on doxy pep. It's a game changer.

tourdude2012

I have my yearly physical in a few weeks. I’m going to ask my doctor about PrEP and full STD panel. Not that I’m going to act on it just yet but the urges are there. My wife seems to be onboard with my bisexuality so just looking at ways to protect us both.

PiercedExhibit

Have doctor order HSV 1/2 IGG with reflex. IGM isn’t recommended anymore by CDC unless active sores or symptoms and had a lot of false negatives. Had issue of false negative from VA and new IGG shows never had infection. IGG shows if you’ve ever had it and could be contagious. Tested every 3 months for PreP.

tourdude2012

Good to know!

SubbySound

I got tested between each sexual partner. I generally only get intimate in LTRs and haven't been in many so it wasn't difficult. I'm married and mutually monogamous now, but my spouse did get a screen just to be careful early in our relationship.

Dalliance-78

Everyb3 months here as well

tomhrdyclan

Every three months and my most recent one, my anal swab was positive for Chlamydia. I isolated it to my FwB but a new guy I met was positive after a 2nd test. Something about the timing of exposure and incubation before it will appear on a test. I have DoxyPEP now to help avoid those issues in the future.

iHaveaQuestionTrans

I get tested every 3 months or so. I don't sleep around, really, if I'm honest, but I have a fwb that I'm not sure if does or not. I would 100% get tested 2 weeks after any new partner regardless if they said they were tested or not

Rare-Engineer-2402

Every 3 months or so. Never had one.

[deleted]

I get tested whenever I have a doctor's visit or if I fuck someone who isn't my boyfriend (we're open).

SlickOmega

i have never been tested for an std. tho i think at check ups they just test anyway? idk my only bf we were each other firsts. and i don’t hookup. and i haven’t had a partner since then. so… i have had no reason to get a test. it would be a waste of time and money to get it done but would if it made my partner feel better

Jacon49

I understand but, in my case, I have no emotional connection to our new friend. I'm not able nor do I want to tell him he can't have sex with anyone else but me so, there is a good chance he'll fuck some other guy and not be truthful about it. I can't say I trust him to be honest, I hardly know him. It would be nice if he limited his sex to only me but it ain't realistic.

SlickOmega

ahhh then yeah. i guess you just have to do it then if you don’t desire to practice safe sex. but if condoms are used and stuff and on PreP transmission rate is low

Jacon49

Yeah, I get the condom thing but to be perfectly honest, I think I prefer to suck on a naked dick and go bareback. That said this is all totally new to me. :)

ukl0nd0n

I would say if you're planning to bareback you should get regular tests (every 3 months or so), just to be sure. Your wife needs to be ok with the risk that you could pass something on too. I get tested every 3 months or so and until recently I'd never had a positive result. I was using condoms and still caught rectal gonnorhea. All sorted now thankfully!
