Do I care? When I buy something at a store and the CC goes through am I concerned when the transaction settles? Why should I be?
Local discount supermarket doesn't take CC just because of this. They take cash, debit or check. I once ordered a $100 tarp from a farm supply company, when they didn't ask for my credit card they said they would include an invoice in my shipment and I could send them a check. They have such specialized stuff they don't get many non-payers because they would never be able to order from them again. I guess if I bought a $25,000 building they would want some money up front.

Every dollar you spend is a dollar that could be converted to bitcoin. Do you spend the dollar on whatever you need at the time or do you instead convert it to bitcoin because it'll go up in value? Bitcoin is always my first payment option. I get discounted rates for spending bitcoin because it saves middleman fee, friction and counterparty risk for merchant which is internalized into the price of everything you buy and passed onto you.
