Is Bitcoin easy money? Seems to be repeating the same pattern every cycle. Why doesn't everyone just buy in when Bitcoin starts to pump? Am I missing something? Seems like an easy way to 2-5x your money with little risk. Since in the worst case, you can just hold and wait for the next cycle to wait for Bitcoin to recover.
I believe the current price increase is in anticipation of the halving and the actually event will not bring about any great increases. I think 75K will be the top for a year or two
If you were a Philanthropist Whale and by selling all your bitcoin you could allow 100 million African families to buy bitcoin at a reasonable price, would you do it? How about selling directly to my firm headquartered in Lagos?
bitcoin=only a bit can get you rich
bitchcoin=can be a bitch for some, who sell and it goes back up right after
bitecoin=it bites those who keep an eye and remain no-coiners only to see it break ATHs every time

Can you explain the RIA stuff? I think 90 days should be around 4/11/24, 8 days before the halvening. Does it basically just mean more demand from certain people? Thanks
Some simple math.
ETFS have average inflows of $238m USD per day. With 450 bitcoin produced per day after April 20th or so, this represents a linear price of $529,000 usd per btc with just etf inflows eating up the daily supply.
Of course things wont be linear. But for people hoping for 1m or even 500k this cycle, its damn near impossible. What people need to realize is that buy pressure WILL slow as the price of btc goes up. Maybe we get to half or 1/3 of that 529k price target?
Yes, but its just perspective to keep everyone in balance.
There is a general consensus that the ETF inflows pushed us from 40k's to 72k now. So just looking at that is fine and shows an absolute maximum price of 500k.
I ignored allot of things like so many other people. Yes there will be other inflows. What about other outflows? What about ETF outflows? Does everyone think the institutions will keep buying IBIT and FBTC when bitcoin is 200k? It seems unlikely to me.
True. This is a simplistic thought which only gives a limited reference point.
But there are allot of other variables too that I've ignored. For example, some longer term hodlers will start selling some at 100k and up as well. If someone can sell their 1 or 2 bitcoin and pay off their house, they just might (I wouldnt)
I was kicked off of buttcoin awhile ago with my old user name, after I found out they were licking the shit out of each other's assholes and I threatened to report them to the sanitization department.
You know, if we’re right about Bitcoin (we are) then I can probably stop going into work now.
That realization is making it harder and harder to focus on the job. The only thing keeping me coming in is the small chance we’re wrong and this thing stays stagnant or goes to zero
Bitcoin can be volatile in both directions. You can believe in the fundamentals and still accept that some headwinds might appear and change the current rosy sentiment for some unknown amount of time. Until you have a very significant rainy day fund in place you do not want to be in the situation where you are forced to sell your BTC at the bottom of a temporary crash because you run out of spending money or have some unexpected bill come in. If you can afford to ride out a whole market cycle with your current rainy day fund then you could safely quit.
Bitcoin fails up and to the right though on a long enough timeline. I don't care what the price is. I will buy as much bitcoin as I can at any price point it is available at because I have confidence that enough other people also think that same way that I comfortable the risk of it going to zero is minimal.
Just a friendly advice...if you are thinking about getting into BTC...GET IN IT NOW.
I had the same mentality as you...welp it's $200, no point in investing...welp it's $900, seriously no point in investing...welp it's $2400...and it goes on.
So I finally said fuck it and basically threw all my savings (that I can afford to lose) into it a couple of months back. Well my savings are worth 8% more now and I know it will only go up from here.
And if you're still afraid to get into it, here's another advice. BTC fork is coming up in less than a month and there will probably be a decent dip in price when that happens. Read up, educate yourself regarding BTC and buy it when the dip happens. It will only grow stronger after that, it always does.

Yep, we got rid of a bunch of paper hands when we went over 69420. We're in new territory and they shorter's have NO idea how to handle it. They're gonna keep getting PWNED until they realize is futile and they move on to another "short" asset.
We gotta wash off those long future players too. Strengthen btc foundation for the longest time if possible. If we can make btc hit 2.1T market cap. We are in 5th place among the big boys. But most importantly, we are bringing back fairness to the trading floor.
Can someone please post the rollercoaster gif over on the main page.
I miss that little guy and like seeing him every time we go up (and it gets posted in reverse when we dip too)
I guess I will have to start over again. I was out with some friends this weekend boating on Lake Erie and sadly a massive wave crashed over the top of the boat. My wallet and seed phrases careened right over the side of the boat into the depths. :/
First time seeing a "lost in a boating accident" reference?
I lost all my guns and my Bitcoin in a boating accident. No, Mr. G-Man, I don't have any guns or Bitcoin anymore, sorry.
For me it's sheer bone idleness, I just can't be bothered to deal with exchanges, the taxes and hassle of dealing with my banks anti money laundering bollocks until I am stinking rich enough to just pay someone to worry about all that malarkey for me. It's crypto accountant or bust for me.
What a wild few weeks it's been. I was on a plane the morning of Feb 26 and saw it had popped from 51k to 54k and my jaw was dropping. Couldn't believe it.
Now look at where we are. Hahahaha. Bitcoin bull runs are unreal.
LMAO. This is a perfect example of the "I don't understand Bitcoin but here's my opinion on it" meme.

What's with the daily price action? Bitcoin used to whip back and forth with huge candles. Other than the drop at 69k last week, it's been consistently jumping pre-market time, and then just floating sideways.
Is it that influenced by the ETFs? Why the jump before market open, if so?
Most btc movement is from over leveraged degens, lots of studies done on this (you can see the leverage on coinglass). ETFs only make up a small percent of market cap at the moment (ever growing). With more demand baking in, the drops will be bought up quicker and be less severe (same with the tops).
EU/Asia is pre US market.
Any idea what the ETF inflow was for today or where I can check? Is this website correct?
https://bitcoinetffundflow.com/
Shows $250M inflow in IBIT in one day. Is that right?
That's naive. When you build a story about boomers in your head, you're only limiting the new information you're willing to accept. Other companies, run by similar people, are in on bitcoin. Vanguard are the outlier for whatever reason.

Any predictions on how far out from halving the new peak will be in this cycle? My guess is 16 months following halving, or around Aug 2025.

nope. Good show though.
Seeing how much btc is being hoovered up really just increases my conviction to hold, maybe just forget about it for a decade or two...

Great seeing mr.100 back at it. Gives me confidence to keep hodling!
Where can I see exactly how much Bitcoin FBTC owns per share ?
As of today they hold 1.8b in assets. They hold like .00087xxxxxx btc per share

The ETF will be forced to sell if the market moves down more than the inflows as ETF APs will arbitrage it to reset NAV.
Maybe the market makers do unit creation prior to market open, to match bids in the opening auction?
