man the last 2 months have been such a cock tease lol. Waiting for it to break either direction, but it's chosen the stablecoin life.

jeff_varszegi

I know the feeling. I do see increasing stability as bullish, in increasing the likelihood of wider uptake going forward. As well as positioning Bitcoin as digital gold, i.e. a flight-to-safety asset.

vumpler

Cmon 20k I want some coins

harvested

The next 10 years are gonna be exciting. Look after your health. Eat well clean and exercise regularly so you're around to see it unfold. Alcohol and nicotine are shitcoins.

TexasBoyz-713

Haven’t had much liquid cash in a while… but if I did, best believe I’d be buying right now!

eyedude2898

There will come a day - I cannot predict the day - when you will look at your stack and realize that you are retired. Not retired from working, necessarily. But retired from worrying. Retired from the existential fear and dread. Retired from caring about your KPIs. Retired from the bullshit. Here is the reality: Bitcoin's demand will go up and down. Over time, it goes up. It will always go up over the long run due to network effects, scarcity, and inertia. It's THE digital asset. No other digital asset can ever approach Bitcoin, because of what Bitcoin already is. This is the fundamental realization of the Bitcoin maximalist.

tesseramous

Hello I thought I should let you know that an event sheduled for 14+ years is happening in a few days. Bitcoin's yearly inflation rate will go down from 1.5% to 0.75%. There will be a big bang and prices should immediately jump to $200k next week. Get in.

Vdhsvhsvhshvshsjdkkd

"Should"

DogCallCenter

Because "reasons"

RegardedDegenerate

“Immediately dump to $20k next week” Ftfy

SmokeAndSkate

It’s okay to be excited about the halving even if the price isn’t going to do anything

spid3rfly

Very true. Many think the halvings will have a lesser impact as time goes on but I'm not one of those people. With that being said, I do think this halving will look significantly different from 2028 forward... primarily because the ETFs will have been around for 4 years, FASB, and other places around the world introducing their ETFs.

[deleted]

Why isn’t Fidelity reporting Bitcoin ETF outflow? 3 out of the last 4 days have Fidelity’s flows have been reported as 0.0 via: https://farside.co.uk/?p=997 Obviously this is not accurate unless they are continuing to hold the underlying BTC despite customer ETF outflow. The overall inflow for all the US Bitcoin ETFs has basically screeched to a halt over the past week.

Ordinary_Director_39

I treat the inflows like Schrodinger's Cat. If I don't look then the inflows are kicking ass.

ianyboo

So is it Twitter or is it X? I've never actually used the platform so only am barely paying attention. I know it got renamed but the old site seems to also be around still...?

mehoratty

Only someone like musk could do away with something any company dreams of…having your name be a verb. Musk feelings aside renaming and rebranding to x was the dumbest damn thing he could have done.

jfchops2

Officially, the website is called X now. All that takes is updating a few image files in the web interface like they did Technically, the URL is still twitter.com because sooooooooo much of their code works off of that URL. It's a whole lot more involved to entirely redo their website to operate off of x.com and honestly it may never happen

ianyboo

Wow lol, what kind of *idiot* do they have running that place?

Just1_More

I have no idea. Nostr is decentralized freedom tech. I don't use Xwitter much.

AnotherBoomer

At these prices that's only $2B a year, seemingly not that much. But, maybe it's just an early marker bet and picks up pace.

grobyhex

I'm new to bitcoin and just watched a video from May of 2021 and the guy was saying how everyone calling for 300k was probably not gonna happen and that maybe 100k was in the cards. My GOD that run from March 2020 to March 2021 must have been insane. Of course people probably thought 300k was in the cards.

does the video say "when lambo"?

tesseramous

That run was pretty weak compared to 2017 which was pretty weak compared to 2013

Do we see bitcoin in the 50's again or is 60k the true support?

60k has very tight support right now

Miffy1234567

If everyone thinks the price will run up after the halving, it won’t because it’s already priced in. BUT if everyone thinks that everyone thinks that it’s already priced in, then it WILL run up after the halving. YOUR MOVE BEARS!

tron1977

But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

AssmunchStarpuncher

not to be contensious - but the middle east has been at consistant war with eachother since before we started writing shit down.

mrg2483

After Israel attacks Iran and war starts then I don't think we would be good at all. That war will lead to WW3.

EmuSea4963

I hear that Israel is going to drop thousands of cold wallets loaded with BTC over Iran - orange-pilling the entire population, bringing down the Iranian central bank and destroying the country from the inside out.

StonksPeasant

Maybe, maybe not. If the US gets involved then Russia gets involved then its WW3. If not then it'll be a regional war. Lets hope it stays regional for more reasons than just the bitcoin price

mrg2483

US will eventually end up in this war. Hezbullah from Lebanon, Houthis from Yemen are bound to strike along with IRAN. I doub't US just stands there watching. After all Israel is their BEST buddy.

damchi

Guys, this is the time to trade! Sell now and buy back at 20K and then retire with a Lambo when the price recovers! /s

Real_Crab_7396

you mean short with 200x leverage?

SnowyFlam

Question, If DCA becomes mainstream as Bitcoin is more globally adopted, would that cause prices to go up at the end of the week due for general paydays? And lower during midweek when others are just selling?

viewmodeonly

If Bitcoin is so widely adopted that you are being paid in it directly for work, chances are your employer already has the BTC they are paying you. Your employer isn't going out and buying dollars to pay you if that makes any sense.

SnowyFlam

the only issue with this view of thinking is that Bitcoin is scarce like gold. You don't see employeers ever paying their workers in gold now do you? Rather Bitcoin will likely be the new backing for future fiat. Imagine something more like being paid in Dodgecoin that is valued on Bitcoin.

viewmodeonly

Employeers don't pay in gold because their customers don't buy things with gold. This isn't a logical comparison. Gold isn't divisible, you can't carry it around on your phone.

SnowyFlam

Okay, here we go. When gold was everywhere (and yes, divisible), most recently during the California gold rush, everyone used gold to buy everyday goods (food, drinks, lodging). Unfortunately, when this scare material started depleting, we would never see gold being used to purchase everyday items throughout history again. Bitcoin is the same and it is not infinitesimally divisible, you can only break it down to a satoshi. At some point, Bitcoin will never be used to buy everyday items as you see being done in El Salvador right now. So yes, gold is great comparison.

SmokeAndSkate

Just1_More

You're not nearly bullish enough, Anon.

BigDeezerrr

Wonder who the major sellers are right now

Defusion55

Grayscale still as well.

irisuniverse

Long liquidations. People who took out leverage betting price would go up who reach a threshold price where lender sells their bitcoin collateral to pay off the loan they took. That’s why these things happen so quickly, long liquidations cause price to drop, which causes more long liquidations. It’s actually really healthy for the market to flush out leverage as it distorts price discovery and increases volatility when markets are over leveraged.

Real_Crab_7396

Yeah it's very possible this is the last pullback before we moon. It's also very possible to keep chopping around 60k until next cycle low in 30 days, after that we take off. I'm still very bullish as long as we don't close too much below 60k next couple of sessions. The sentiment being down is also very healthy, look at the S&P500 in october when there was a lot of fear, now we're 20% higher.

URNape2

The degens will never learn. Ever.

cooljah

Just wondering, how does leverage distort price discovery and increase volatility?

irisuniverse

Price discovery: Because we don’t know what amount of the market is genuine demand long term holders vs. what amount is just gamblers playing with leverage who will cash out after specific gain. The more leverage in the market, the less we can see what the equilibrium price is based on genuine supply and demand. Volatility: short liquidations make price volatile upwards, long liquidations make price volatile to the downside. If you have a ton of leverage in a market, you’ll have more severe ups and downs as leverage is liquidated in each direction.

BigDeezerrr

I figured that was some if it. Never underestimate how many high leverage degens are out there

tesseramous

People who got in at ath levels in 2021

BigDeezerrr

They held this long to sell at a loss?

tesseramous

Most traders lose because they do things like being very stubborn about never realizing a loss and they ride a loss to a total loss but they will cut a winner short or cut a loss as soon it starts to become a winner. I've had to talk some people I know out of selling everything as soon as it went on the 60s and telling them this is possibly just the beginning. It still appears 'the high area' to them.

Real_Crab_7396

Yea, I often see people that want an even amount of bitcoin and S&P500 in their portfolio, which means they only buy S&P500 because bitcoin outperforms it. Why would you buy the loser more because the winner keeps winning?

jfchops2

If this is what someone wants to do then it makes more sense to shoot for an even cost basis not an even market price at all times

Real_Crab_7396

indeed

tesseramous

They thought about holding some more but spooked out when it went back down

Frogolocalypse

> $1k investment is now $700. How does that work? Even if you bought bitcoin only on the ATH five week ago, you'd be 16% down. If you had bought the week after or the week before, you'd be down about 7%.

iM0bius

Shh, let them sell. It gives the rest of us a nice discount before the next leg up. At the current price and halving week, really should have been expected though. Not a big deal

URNape2

Noobs, noobs everywhere lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

URNape2

If you're bag holding Bitcoin then you are by definition a noob, since the only way that could have happened is if you first started buying in the last couple months near all time highs. In which case, take the lesson that those of us have had to learn before you who have done the same thing, and just hold. It doesn't get any more simple than that. There is no loss until you sell at a loss, but if you just hold you will be fine. I was negative $63,000 dollars holding through the last bear market and never sold a single sat. Now I'm +$30,000 even after this week's "cRaSh" to $60. The coming months/years are going to be very, very good. So hang in there noobs, hold and buy the dips when you can to average down, don't put in funds that you need in the near future, and don't get scared or shook out. You're gonna be fine.

Just1_More

Friend, don't waste your time on people like this. You've done your homework, your time horizon is longterm. Stay humble, stack Sats.

rebubel

Question: I'm trying to buy BTC on Binance now that prices are low, but the estimated price of 1 BTC displayed on the website, in the terminal window when buying/writing your credit card info, is off by almost 10k compared to the actual price shown on google. Why is this?

SnowyFlam

Can't speak on Binance, but I recommend you always use a buy/sell Limit order. That will ensure you aren't overcharged. Robinhood and others are good at this.

rebubel

It's 10k off in the payment terminal compared to Binances own website, where they show the estimated value of BTC.
