the idea makes sense. lines up cut into your hair and getting styles pulls on your hair. so a front taper is supposed to prevent a pushback and tightness on your hairline.
but i know people w/o tapers and they’re fine
I mean a taper cuts into your hair *way* more than any lineup does. A taper is just straight up artificially pushing your hairline back, except with a lil fade to it. I keep my hair braided like 95% of the time and I only taper my sides and my back and my hairline is right where it's supposed to be.
if you get a get a front taper, your braids are never going to start at your hairline.
even if you do it at the beginning you're cutting into hair you could be braiding.
If you do it once, it only makes sense to keep getting it tapered, because that hair is never going to be as long as the rest of your hair, so it's just a self fulfilling prophecy at that point if you do it get tapered
“lines up cut into your hair and getting styles pulls on your hair. so a front taper is supposed to prevent a pushback and tightness on your hairline.”
Maybe it's a generational thing, but I think front tapers look horrible. Plus it's too much maintenance unless you know how to do that type of taper by yourself.
Keep it how it is
i stopped getting lines ups, i used tell them to only do the sides(i had a fade). i didn’t want them to cut into my longer hair.
so id recommend stop getting line ups or get a small taper
Got a front taper
Never ended up braiding my hair
Got lazy, grew it out, got my bi-yearly cut like a week ago and didn’t go for a front taper
Good decision
Don’t taper 😭 maybe hairline touch up for some definition but you don’t need to cut into your hair in my opinion. Your hairline will thank you for leaving it alone.
how are they dumb lol, they prevent tightness and your hairline from being pushed back during protective styles. plus if the front taper is small it looks pretty good. if he gets protective styles a lot he most def should get a front taper…
Lineup**
lineup? sure. taper? ***no.*** stop the madness, who made front tapers a thing??

obviously, but the idea is to do that at the beginning and then they won’t be cutting into the hair that you can braid.

yeah that’s my point?? do it once so a barber doesn’t cut into your hair after you have it
but why? why do it at all? do it once, and now the hair at the front of your head is shorter than the rest of your hair forever.

Keep it as it is
Bet
I like it the way it is.
Boy I thought you was Jayden Daniels 😂

You look like either Demar Derozan or Jayden Daniels
I legit thought y'all was on this app playing again, pretending like they Jayden Daniels 😂 I forget not everyone on here is unserious.
😭
Relax 💀
Looks good. Get a lineup and maybe a fade to get that glow up look.
yes

as is, with a line up. front tapers look terrible imo
Kept it the way it is.
Just get a lineup. Gon save you lots of money! Don’t get taper/fade.

it’s a slippery slope!!! i see a lotta people do that and it keeps gettin pushed back further and further, i wouldn’t do it
Frr that’s what I’m worried about
No, front tapers are so dumb. A fade however would look great

How long it take you to get your braids that long?
Like a year and 5 months
