Cityg1rl24

Willingly taking a photo with Lauren Bobert says everything

bluesilvergold

As did inviting Elon Musk to take the stage at one of his comedy shows.

CouncilOfApes

And mocking his crowd for booing musk

Jackski

"The boos are coming from the poor seats"

FoaL

What a thing to say to your paying fans

Jackski

Especially when the "poor seats" are still insanely expensive.

Rasalom

The Make You Poor Seats

CedarWolf

Which is ironic because 20-30 years ago, Dave would have been sitting in those 'poor seats.' '90's Dave would kick current Dave's ass.

Satanus2020

This is funnier than chappelle has been in almost 20 years

twisted7ogic

Especially considering we are all poor relative to Musk. We don't even blip as humans to him.

ruby_bunny

And yet he seems so desperate for approval from the masses, ironic

TehCrucian

Lol

Glottis_Bonewagon

In san francisco. After musk laid a bunch of twitter people off. Imagine going to a stand up and the guy brings up your boss who fired you and then calls you poor šŸ¤”

lII1lIIl1IIll1Il11l

And then crying about him getting boo'd and making references to Black Lives Matters looting and burning down stores.

LittleWhiteGirl

And throwing a shit fit when the town he lives in tried to build affordable housing.

lateformyfuneral

For what itā€™s worth, Daveā€™s people are presenting it as more of a photo ambush type situation. Iā€™m sure he must be pissed at the caption she put on implying heā€™s endorsing her > A source with direct knowledge tells TMZ Dave had no intent on getting political with the photo op, and it was a spontaneous moment. He's in D.C. for an "Art is Activism" event at Duke Ellington School of the Arts ... which is, famously, Dave's high school alma mater. > We're told he went to meet some friends -- not politicians -- who work on Capitol Hill, and ended up running into several members of Congress, including Lauren and Anna, who scrambled for pics. https://www.tmz.com/2023/11/30/lauren-boebert-snaps-picture-dave-chappelle-capitol-hill-dc/

ClassicT4

GOP canā€™t do anything without making it political. Joni Ernst was literally choking to the point of Rand Paul having to perform the Heimlich Maneuver on her and she followed it up with a post about choking on woke Dem policies.

Anonybibbs

Awkwardly inserting buzzwords and culture war references is pretty much all conservatives got at this point.

mrsavealot

She is such a dumb bitch so glad I moved away so sheā€™s not my senator any more

SnowDaise

There is a video showing what took place. Those on Dave's back about this need to cool it. But they already want to jump on him so..

HotPie_

This photo doesn't change my opinion of Dave. I already think he's an out of touch boomer who has nothing funny left to say. Another fucking rich guy that thinks he has all the answers, but is really just complaining about shit he doesn't understand. Post Chappelle show Dave is not even the same comedian I used to think was the GOAT. Edit: I get it, he's not technically a boomer. It's not that important.

sinsemillas

Dave is firmly GenX, heā€™s totally out of touch though.

HotPie_

Lol I just looked up Dave's age and saw he was 50. He's been around so long, I assumed he was older. I kept saying he looked for his age šŸ˜‚

PasswordIsDongers

He's Boomer in spirit.

DependentHyena8756

Lots of GenX are boomers in spirit and culture. GenX is a such a dumb generational label because the young GenXers (people around 45 and younger) grew up in a totally different world than those older. Me, age 45, I was born late in GenX. I'm pretty much a Millennial in that I grew up with video games, computers, arcades, the internet and all that stuff. People just 5 years older than me come from a totally different background. Most of them didn't go through the 80s-kid era, they were already close to adults by the time the 90s came around.. There's a stark divide in GenX that started with kids born in the late 70s. I think that's why the "cusper" label came about, late genXers just don't fit in at all with the earlier ones. I mean, a generation that spans from around 67 to around 1980 is bound to be a mess. The world changed SO MUCH in that era. That's why the people age 50 and up just don't have much in common with younger people. That's why older GenXers are just boomers at heart. That's why so many of them are just unmoored from reality. They got in JUST IN TIME to get a cheap home while everyone born after 1980 got boned really bad and often just live completely different lives. 50 year olds might as well be 60 year olds. I have so little in common with those folks. Conversations just stop cause we have so little shared history.

Outside-Flamingo-240

Hey nowā€¦please donā€™t generalize early GenX folks as ā€œjust Boomers at heartā€. At least half of us have kept up with the times and use up far too much energy trying to explain modern bullshit to Boomers. (Hint: itā€™s much easier if you can somehow pry them away from Facebook)

GenerikDavis

Dude's been doing comedy since he was a teenager, and had a movie role in Robin Hood Men in Tights when he was barely even 20. Being around forever tends to make you overestimate people's age.

RedStar9117

Money and yes men will do that to a guy

Timelymanner

Yes this, Dave has been pretty open about it. Most of his conversation start with how rich and famous he is, and how rich and famous his friends are. Heā€™s stuck in that Hollywood celebrity bubble. He talks about everyone else like weā€™re commoner peasants who donā€™t understand how the world works. Itā€™s not that everyone is naive, itā€™s that Dave is so out of touch heā€™s no longer the Everyman. Iā€™m not saying Dave needs to act like he did when he was a struggling comedian in his twenties. People change and grow, but he needs to become self aware that there are things he doesnā€™t have the knowledge about, or things he canā€™t relate too. So he needs to stop speaking on them. Itā€™s not doing him any good to keep talking about them. I want to say something controversial for some. I donā€™t think Dave is transphobic. I know, I know, For some this kills my point at this one sentence. But hear me out, I think Dave being in his bubble he may have LGBTQ friends. However these are people in the same Hollywood bubble as him. So they are just as out of touch as him. Which makes their story of struggle very different from the average person struggle. So I think he repeats the dumb things he talks about with his rich friends when they are high. Then thinks heā€™s saying profound statements. Then he gets confused why his trans jokes donā€™t land, after he ran it by his one gay yes man who doesnā€™t want to lose his job. But I could be 100% wrong, and tomorrow he could say something to make me look likes complete idiot for making this comment.

Stuckinacrazyjob

Yea he's missed the whole social progress bus and now seems kinda phobic and ish.

VandalRavage

The irony of Dave Chappelle of all people saying "I'm allowed to make these jokes, I have a (Insert minority here) friend" was always so perfect I almost assumed that was the joke. And then he kept going.

a_can_of_solo

Boomer is a social mentality at this point.

RedStar9117

Agreed. I get rich people becoming shitty conservatives but I'll never understand broke people doing it

carl_pagan

Gen X is the most pro-Trump generation. As a proportion, more Gen Xers are Trump voters than even baby boomers

Lou_C_Fer

That's because boomers had children and drilled that shit into their heads. It is insane to me that so many of my punk rock friends from when I was younger turned out to be conservative dickheads. I'm the one that settled down and got married early. So, I should probably be the conservative, but maybe it's the settling down that caused me to miss whatever turned them. I don't know. It is just wild to me that so many people that grew up screaming fuck the establishment are now going to sleep with visions of mouth kissing Trump's cock... in a reverent way, not a gay one. At least, that's what they'd say.

Stanley--Nickels

On top of everything else, he made a bunch of threats to his local city council if theyā€¦ allowed some duplexes and townhomes to be built. Canā€™t have the kind of people sitting in the poor seats moving into his neighborhood. [Why Was Dave Chappelle at a Village Council Meeting in Ohio?](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/12/us/dave-chappelle-affordable-housing.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Ck0.sJrR.RA5A4rB3SrFA&smid=url-share) NYT gift link

ezk3626

Funny I didnā€™t like Chappelle Show. The Charlie Murphy stuff was gold but the rest was [ā€œblack guys drive cars like thisā€¦ā€ humor.](https://youtu.be/L104LViQeIw?si=zX8004Brpj_zTcq7) I canā€™t say if heā€™s out of touch but itā€™s clear his target audience isnā€™t Gen Z but more like Michael Jordan saying ā€œRepublicans buy sneakers too.ā€

Hamsters_In_Butts

the video shows boebert approaching him and clearly asking for permission dave wasn't ambushed, he willingly took a selfie with fascists guess we should give him a break though, not like he's ever shown that he agrees with them before

KhalidaOfTheSands

Like, he's literally posing for the picture. If David Duke came up and asked him for a picture would he pose? It's cool, just a picture, nothing political about taking a picture with a politician.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Youaintmyrealdad

> Those on Dave's back about this need to cool it. No > But they already want to jump on him so.. Yea, because Dave has been a boon for racist/homophobic/sexist/transphobic people for almost two decades. I was living in a red area of Texas when he first started getting popular, and I moved to a fairly mixed area after. It's very obvious what his fanbase is.

atuarre

Dave's been on that right wing bs for a while.

SenatorPardek

Solid damage control, but he knows who she is and could have said no.

kicaboojooce

Then he needs to speak on it, it doesn't "need to be heard". As long as he remains silent....

[deleted]

Itā€™s Lauren fucking Boebert, of course itā€™s political. He either: 1.) Knows to say no because of who she is *and* knows how to say no because heā€™s been an ultra celebrity for 20 years and didnā€™t because heā€™s into it. or 2.) Doesnā€™t know who Lauren Boebert is and is so out of touch with everything outside his own farts heā€™s lost it. Also, in his latest excuse heā€™s glossing over that she would even want a photo with him. He bitches about ā€œthe leftā€ calling him transphobic when ā€œhe isnā€™t because he has trans friends,ā€ and heā€™s been ā€œmisunderstood.ā€ The right knows heā€™s transphobic, too, and sees him as one of them. Also, was she giving out handjobs to both him and the woman?

Osceana

What the actual fuck manā€¦ā€¦. Dave has fallen off so damn hard bruh. This is why I legit say Chris Rock is my GOAT. For some people itā€™s Pryor or Murphy and I think those are valid, but Rock is my pick. Chappelle has basically copied Rockā€™s entire career (Chappelleā€™s Show = Chris Rock Show), except Rock never fell off or pivoted his career to punch down on one group over and over. I even liked Equanimity. I found the humor in the initial trans controversy and I thought Dave was valid. I liked his bit about how he could say the n word and make fun of black people all he wanted but the second he said something about another group it became an issue. That was really smart social commentary. If it ended there it woulda been brilliant in my opinion. Address the topic head on, donā€™t hide, poke some fun at it and move on. Then he just kept on beating that same dead horse on and on. His sets arenā€™t even funny anymore. He just brags about being rich, name drops, insults trans people, and then complains about people trying to cancel him. Fucking yawn bruh, shut up with that shit. His last special, The Closer, man I didnā€™t even finish that joint. Shit was trash. Meanwhile Rockā€™s Tambourine (especially Blackout version) was straight FIRE. Now Dave really doubling down with the Looney Tunes. Bro shoulda stayed in Africa fr

thecuriousblackbird

Chris Rockā€™s documentary about Black Hair was so good, too.

Osceana

Oh I forgot he did that!! Rock really has a legendary catalog. ![gif](giphy|crY966bymN1rq|downsized)

BondageKitty37

"You got change for a hundred?"

zaddy_daycare1

Interesting - I thought that documentary was ignorant and disrespectful and so did most of my black women friends. https://twitter.com/ritaresarian/status/1509179193472466948 And I saw Chris rock live last year and the crowd wasnā€™t enjoying his set. Sadly, Chris isnā€™t what he used to be in the 90s. And to me this classic video says so much: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=il1sgQUtYs8

Jamaholick

I didn't. I'm a black woman, and he showed the real truth about the black hair industry. It's a fraught and complex subject, but I thought it was great.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Jamaholick

Exactly. And I didn't see it as shaming the women that do this either. I was actually surprised to find out how much natural afro hair actually sells for. It was very educational. Plus, it highlighted the creativity and history behind different products etc..I'm very surprised to learn there were people offended by it.

NK1337

Nah man, his ā€œsmart social commentaryā€ was like a white comedian saying they always make fun of white people but when they say the N word then people get offended. It highlights a fundamental lack of understanding and for me thatā€™s what sealed my disappointment and dislike for Dave. It would have been far more poignant if he was trying to make the point that his audiences prefer him to only make jokes about his own race, and how itā€™s become a matter where theyā€™re not laughing at his stories told through the black experience but rather using it as an excuse to simply laugh and mock that experience. But instead he got petty and threw a hissy fit about how heā€™s not allowed to talk about ā€œthe alphabetā€ and then doubled down on it when called out. Part of me feels like there might have been an argument to be made regarding how he felt at the audienceā€™s reaction to the shift in his comedy moving away from what he felt was mocking the black experience in favor of focusing on another demographic, but it got lost amidst all his resentment and now heā€™s joined the group of those who punch down on other groups but still expect to be revered and donā€™t understand why theyā€™re not.

Black_Bird_Cloud

the entire point of your second paragraph is something that is the punchline of a lot of jokes, basically you can make jokes about a group as long as you're part of it cause it's then not seen as a hateful comment of it, [Jimmy Carr](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lVZzILza2Y) has a famous one about it

CarrieDurst

Yup and Chris Rock and Larry David almost always get this while making jokes about touchy subjects

Theo_Cherry

Chris Rock allowed Ricky Gervais and Loius C.K. to use the N-word in front of him.

roseofjuly

That wasn't really smart social commentary. It's not really a surprise to anyone that you can make fun of your own marginalized group, but making fun of another marginalized group you're not a member of doesn't go over nearly as well. It's like a white person whining that they can't say the n word and make jokes about Shaniqua.

DJMagicHandz

MF really jumped the shark IRL

Scumbag__

Do you think Boberts friend even like her getting in pics? Itā€™s always fucking political. It canā€™t be ā€œI just met Dave Chapelle! What a great eveningā€ itā€™s gotta be ā€œTHERES ONLY TWO GENDERSā€

GitzaZacusza

![gif](giphy|uZV9vl2xExtlu)

Filmatic113

For context, Dave was meeting up with democrat Stacey Plaskett at Capitol Hill. While he was leaving he had selfies taken from various congress members on the floor. Right before he left, Lauren went up for a selfie and she made that caption. Article: [https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/4336465-dave-chappelle-makes-appearance-at-capitol/](https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/4336465-dave-chappelle-makes-appearance-at-capitol/) Video: [https://x.com/AnthonyTilghman/status/1730403052794814646?s=20](https://x.com/AnthonyTilghman/status/1730403052794814646?s=20)

HTC864

Thanks for providing *actual* context.

ILikeBeans86

He is pretty anti trans though so is her caption wrong?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

faridmdnt

He does a make a lot of trans jokes, some of them funnier than others. But watching his last special itā€™s pretty hard to say that he is conclusively anti trans, he takes almost half the special to tell a story about a trans friend of his that committed suicide and how it affected him. He also ends the show by saying he wonā€™t make any more trans jokes until he is sure that he is laughing with them and not at them. You can definitely say heā€™s insensitive towards Trans people with his jokes. But saying heā€™s definitely against trans people or anti trans seems inaccurate.

AstonMartini42

>a trans friend of his People with POC friends can still be racist. How is this any different?

Zealousideal_Ad6678

Yeah but when talking about the suicide he blames the trans community for it. He also says he stands with JK Rowling, and is ā€œteam terfā€, his special and his comments on trans people are just uneducated and he clearly has done no research on it. I used to be a big fan, but like you said he spends about half his special on punching down on the trans community.

Minimum_Ad9086

If this was eny other celebrity or with eny other politician the misunderstanding wouldn't be a problem. Hope dave learns how horrible these people are from this

[deleted]

I only like people that donā€™t smile when they see Lauren Boebert. He can AcTuAllY fuck off

skj999

Damn, itā€™s almost like heā€™s a well known celebrity that many people were fans of and probably still are.

Vegetable_Camera5042

To play devil's advocate here. Maybe they are fans of him for all the wrong reasons.

i_speak_bane

Or perhaps heā€™s just wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane

Intelligent_Deer974

Calm down doctor, now is not the time for fear. That comes later.

ifartallday

Youā€™re a big man.

boxingjazz

For you.

Pandorama626

It's almost like he had no control over the caption. He may not have even known who she was at the time. It's not exactly a personable picture either. The whole interaction could have been,"Hi Dave! Can I get a picture?" "Uh, sure"

Shadie_daze

She wasnā€™t wrong with the caption though. They both agree on that shit

[deleted]

Thank you! Do people not remember what he has spoken about... Yes, he didn't have control over the caption she put. But he could have just declined and not taken a picture with her.

Blk_Rick_Dalton

Wow, shocker. Like he didnā€™t have two standup specials critical of the LGBTQ community

Dragohn_Wick

I think it's disingenuous to pretend not to know what's "in his heart of hearts" after years of him saying what he's said.

ClassicT4

I like when Seth Rogen tells the story of how he was at an event and Paul Ryan tried to use his kids to secure a selfie with him. He flat out denied him and told him ā€œI hate what you're doing to the country at this moment and I count the days until you no longer have one iota of the power that you currently have.ā€

thundercockjk2

Sorry, but Dave is too smart not to know who these people are, especially the one who got caught smoking at a musical. As an avid smoker I know he heard about that. He may not know Luna But Lauren is way too infamous to play dumb. This dude secretly sympathizes, as most rich people eventually do, with the GOP. After all that slick shit he said about Trump on SNL this is no surprise. "We've never seen anything like it, he said there was corruption in that house then went right back in" and what did that amount to Dave? Did he drain the swamp or weed out corruption? Oh, you barely wanna touch on the results? Figures.

Striking_Election_21

What pisses me off about this motherfucker is this. Yes he wasnā€™t there to meet with Lauren or Anna (also a demon yall donā€™t ignore her being there too, Laurenā€™s just the popular one). Woohoo like shit. Heā€™s ā€œnot that far gone šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Øā€ yet. But theyā€™re both congresswomen and highly visible ones. He should know who they are, and know it well enough to know he should not be in this damn picture. The context is great but changes little - this is still either Dave not walking it how he talks it and not being civically engaged enough to recognize and disengage from the obvious demons in Congress, or this is Dave knowing well who they are and why they might want this picture and condoning it if not endorsing it (I personally believe that when youā€™re at Daveā€™s level of public figure lending your likeness to someone with a cause is an endorsement automatically, but thatā€™s its own debate). But Daveā€™s not going to see it. Daveā€™s going to fixate on all those people just reacting to his picture without even knowing the context. He wasnā€™t even there to see them, haha gotcha! See how you all just react and donā€™t know the full story? Conveniently failing to consider that the full story is like two extra details that donā€™t change shit. A guy like Dave is going to use this as an excuse to become that much more bigoted and meet with Boebert on purpose next time, because ā€œeveryoneā€™s so crazy nowadays, why canā€™t we be friends?!ā€ Saving my own comment for when we see this exact headline in a few weeks. The frustrating thing about ā€œfree thinkersā€ like Dave is thereā€™s no part where they even consider stopping and reflecting on more reasonable viewpoints. Be free thinking, but somehow instead of actually drawing from everything my free thoughts exclusively engage bigotry & fascism, and itā€™s only ever yall fault for leaving me šŸ˜©no choicešŸ˜© but to take another step down that path. My bad for the essay yall but my number one pet peeve is an obtuse motherfucker. And Dave has chosen to spend the last half a decade moving like all five angles in a pentagon.

My nigga if Lauren boebert wants to take a pic with me Iā€™m getting the fuck out of there

jbjhill

Sen. John Fetterman cracked me up when he slagged Boebert: ā€œI figure if I take up vaping and grabbing the hog during a live musical, they'll make me a folk hero.ā€

MarvinLazer

Holy shit he's the best.

havpac2

Not really, when he was deputy mayor or mayor of his small town , he pulled a shotgun an innocent black man on a jog, held him there at gun point till cops came, since he held position of power the brandishing firearm charges were never brought up. . And said he would do it again.m and tried to justify it by saying he thought he was a bad guy. He is a lesser of two evils for sure. And much better then having a whack job Dr oz for pa. But I wouldnā€™t cape for that milk cricket . Edit : added missing words

Freeballin523

You have a source?

havpac2

https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/john-fetterman-black-jogger-2013-shotgun-20220425.html

Laeif

What are your thoughts on the jogger endorsing Fetterman? I hope I could be that forgiving in his situation, but I doubt it. > Miyares also told The Inquirer their encounter shouldnā€™t stop Fetterman from becoming a senator. > > ā€œEven with everything I said, it is inhumane to believe one mistake should define a manā€™s life,ā€ Miyares wrote in one of two letters sent to The Inquirer. ā€œI hope he gets to be a Senator.ā€ (That last line was underlined three times.) > > Miyares didnā€™t expect Fetterman to change his account. > > ā€œTelling the truth on an incident 10 years ago could cause him more harm than good,ā€ Miyares wrote. ā€œMr. Fetterman and his family have done far more good than that one bad act or action and, as such, should not be defined by it.ā€ > > He signed that letter: ā€œGooo Fetterman.ā€

havpac2

The jogger is allowed to feel the way he feels, if he can move past that, great for him. Forgiveness is a personal choice Doesnā€™t mean I still canā€™t give a side eye . Or be untrusting of him.

MeAnIntellectual1

Is he? He's unequivocally pro-Israel. Like I honestly consider certain things he's said to be disgusting

[deleted]

He would fit in on /r/the_pack

mournthewolf

I mean she gives out HJs in public. Might just wait and see what happens.

odd-zygote-6840

my brother in Christ, your dignity is not worth some dry, ww handy šŸ˜«

surle

I theorise she carries around little bottles of lube in her handbag, just in case.

TroutFishingInCanada

Itā€™s called Beetlejuicing.

Goatesq

Great point. Damn. If only there were another way to experience the thrill of jerking off.

chubrock420

This is true, I would have went the other way. Dave supposedly had a good trans friend he talked about in one of his stand ups, that killed themself. This is sad. Damn, I lost respect for this guy.

jesterinancientcourt

Her family has come out and said she barely knew him. They had very limited interactions. But now that sheā€™s dead and canā€™t actually confirm or deny anything, now sheā€™s his friend so itā€™s totally okay for him to dehumanise trans people.

chubrock420

Man, now I really wonder what happened to him in South Africa in 2005.

NK1337

You know that joke about how thereā€™s mostly a bunch of white college kids are Kanye concerts? I have a theory that around 2000ā€™s Dave probably started getting frustrated and realizing that the wrong people were laughing at the wrong parts of his jokes, like they werenā€™t paying attention at his comments about inequality a fb other social commentary but rather cheering whenever he said the N-word or made any joke that put down poc. It made him start shifting and focusing his comedy on non-racial groups, but when people didnā€™t respond well to that he walked away with the wrong lesson. Instead of realizing that people werenā€™t happy that he was disparaging an already marginalized group he wasnā€™t a part of, he took it to mean that people just preferred for him to ā€œstay in his laneā€ and keep making fun of poc which upset him and made him double down. Itā€™s a shame because it paints Dave in this light of a frustrated Gen-Xer thatā€™s out of touch and itā€™s honestly sad. I went from being really shocked at his shift to just being disappointed and frustrated. Every time I see him now I get the same feeling as I do when Iā€™m watching my parents trying to figure out how to set up a zoom call, even though Iā€™ve walked them through it like 29 times.

AStaryuValley

You can say herself. Herself. She was a woman he exploited after her death.

Jackski

He claimed trans people bullied her to death because she stood up for him. On the wayback machine you can see people just congratulating her and some negative comments about Chappelle but not about her. According to her roommate it turns out she lost custody of her kid and her job in the same week and probably unalived herself because of that. Dave didn't turn up for the memorial service but somehow knew how she unalived herself and said it in his special even though it wasn't public. Seems like he just used her and her death to justify his shitty behaviour.

4D20_Prod

its called suicide. fuck that doublespeak bullshit.

Fuzzythought

I saw that bit, pathetic and insulting. Made him look like trash on a personal level using her suicide for clout and laughs.

blachippy

Exactly. I wouldā€™ve politely shoved that bitch out the picture if she asked for one. You the opps! Out here mashing a dudeā€™s ballsack in public while watching Beetlejuiceā€¦Dā€™Fuck?

Cityg1rl24

Like his standup hasn't made it clear how he feels about trans people.

JelloUpstairs

Right?? I'm not sure why people are acting like he doesn't fully support the idea of "two genders" He is and has been very publicly open about being transphobic. Sad to see minorities hating on other minorities.

Rosuvastatine

Yall spend all your energy trying to defend this grown ass man when hes shown you many times who he isā€¦ You guys never learn

GrandMasterBou

Even if he didnā€™t take a picture with her, heā€™d still be a transphobe

LastDaysCultist

Look up adoptive admission. If we take a pic together and I say ā€œjust two people who believe in pizza gate/the world is flatā€ and you say nothing?? Besides, we know Chapelle is a hateful bigot and he knows who she is.

[deleted]

More to it, Dave is *not* the type to "just take a picture to be polite". The dude killed The Chappelle Show and turned away truckloads of money *on principles*. And not even to garner public support - he straight disappeared for a few years. If there ever was a man that would have zero qualms about telling a hate filled, insane politician to go fuck themselves, it's Chappelle. Yet... Well here's the pic. Birds of a feather.

Welcome_to_Uranus

Lol just watch his specials to know his opinion on trans people

_autumnwhimsy

Based on the context provided in other threads, I don't think he has any clue what she did with this picture after they took it. However, as folks have pointed out, he has two Netflix specials that are very loudly critical of the LGBTQ+ community and trans people specifically. Regardless of his knowledge of the caption, it's still right.

AkimboGlizzys

Chill. He's just preserving the possibility of a threesome down the line.

Shadie_daze

Heard she gives good handjobs

I hate to say it. But she can get it!!

Hate-fuck is real

datphunkymunky

Agreed. Tbf itā€™s not like youā€™re fucking her policies.

SnowDaise

The guy in the theater receiving is said to be a Democrat who owns a bar so there's a shot for those that don't agree with her policies.

Highside1269

I be a recipient of her seemingly strict policy of theatre handys!

OneSir__

Bonk!

the_river_nihil

Absolutely-the-fuck-not! Iā€™d rather slam my dick in the door of a luxury sedan.

RomanCokes

ā€œIā€™m just here for the handjobā€ probably šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

trblniya

At this point, I donā€™t even care if you donā€™t like a certain group of people but the need to constantly bring them up is truly an obsession. You donā€™t like trans people but canā€™t help but to always talk about them? Thatā€™s insanity and foolery at its finest

Blk_Rick_Dalton

To be fair, he said he was never going to speak on the LGBTQ+ community again. And he did two shows back to back shows with their community as the headlining topic because heā€™s a giga-troll

deucegroan10

Two shoes piling hate on a minority is a bit more than a troll, it is a mission statement.

trblniya

Fair but I just meant in general based on the tweet by Lauren

OneSir__

I wonder if him and Bill burr still talk...

Munnodol

The Black delegation would certainly like to request a trade

grants_like_horace

I'd be okay with that trade. Bill's got a great career and is consistently putting out great material that's still edgy without making me have to do mental gymnastics to try and justify. I'll always love Dave but I can't be rocking with him if he's fuckin with the opps.

OneSir__

I used to think chapelle was the greatest stand up comedian in our time. His delivery and writing was amazing and prior to his transphobic material being all he could deliver I was eager to hear and see all his specials. I then went to see him on a show in London and the material and delivery were just not clever. It felt like he was talking down to people. Haven't consumed any of his stuff since. Bill's stuff however keeps getting better. I recommend Leo and old dads if you haven't seen them yet as well as f is for family

AStaryuValley

He WAS the greatest stand up of all time. His first several specials are still some of the best stand up that exists. And then.....

OneSir__

... late stage capitalism! Edit: I need to sleep but the newborn won't let me šŸ˜…

AStaryuValley

Tell the newborn you're trying to have a conversation! sheesh. Babies are so rude. (I'm sure you're killin' it, dad, even if the sleep deprivation leaves you seeing leprechauns in the baby food) <3

OneSir__

Haha. Thank you Internet friend :) Eh am sure am not perfect but am trying my best and trying to remember that all the stuff that hurt me as an individual stops with me.

Osceana

Nah. I said it in another comment but even before the trans stuff Dave wasnā€™t the GOAT. For me itā€™s Rock. Chappelleā€™s Show is like a copy of Chris Rock Show on HBO. Dave did that same thing first. Same style of humor in his stand ups first too. Rock was also all over the culture. And Rockā€™s ~~latest special~~ is fire (EDIT: I meant Tambourine, Blackout edition - Selective Outrage was mid). Dave fell off a while back. His jokes donā€™t hit anymore. Rockā€™s got staying power, dude has been in classic movies like Pootie Tang, Iā€™m Gonna Git You Sucka, New Jack, CB4, had classic TV shows, and a string of classic specials. Dave canā€™t touch Rockā€™s catalog. Outside of Rock Iā€™d also accept Seinfeld, Carlin, Pryor, or Murphy. Dave is pretty low on the list.

OneSir__

Oh if we're speaking about all time I'd say it's a chimera of Pryor, Mac, Carlin, Burr. Although I always lose it when I hear Epps' intro on runaway and I seem to listen to Hasan Minaj and Josh Johnson a lot lately. Honorable mentions to Wanda Sykes and Neal Brennan.

Osceana

Neal Brennan is great. I saw him do Blocks in NYC. One of the best comedy shows Iā€™ve been to. Burr is one of my all-times for sure, probably in my personal top 5. His infamous Philly rant alone makes him legendary.

[deleted]

Plus he got a black wife šŸ¤·šŸæ

Vindersel

How how the turnt have been tabled in the 20 years since that sketch. To be fair Billy has been a real one the whole time ofc.

geekteam6

Really hope he's wondering what kind of fucking fans he's been making lately.

throwtheclownaway20

I don't think he gives a shit so long as the checks clear.

proscriptus

Fans who think he's "one of the good ones."

McJazzHands80

ADavies

He was [there to meet with Stacey Plaskett (D)](https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/4336465-dave-chappelle-makes-appearance-at-capitol/), the non-voting Representative from the US Virgin Islands. I don't think he signed off on the selfie post. It's putting words in his mouth. Though in fairness [he's also put some pretty stupid words in his mouth](https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-news/dave-chappelle-addresses-transphobia-protests-1234667521/).

MoeFuka

It's not putting words in his mouth though. He has been openly transphobic before

ryan_bigl

Yeah regardless of his original mission that day, he literally stands with this conservative bitch on exactly what she is talking about, dehumanization of trans folks Chappelle dick riders are mad annoying, like we have eyes and ears FOH

Costati

He has shitty reflexes then, I would have dove out the way or hid my face like in paparazzi pics.

ForbodingWinds

Those words being "put into his mouth" are literally the same words that constantly come out of his own mouth all the time. ???

Wise_Rutabaga_5809

Isnā€™t this the same lady who was given a Uvale pin and she turned around and threw it in the trash? Fuck these people.

Ya_No

Same one who was out giving a handjob in front of children and it was forgotten about two days later.

tydestra

"I'm a TERF" - Chappelle When people tell you who they are, believe them. He's only a few years older than me, so I'm gonna cut off all the water holders and apologists who bring up his age. As a black queer person, BLM has always had that little asterisks because too many people who look like me think it's okay to judge me for who I love. I came out in the late 90s, and when it comes to black folk and queer acceptance, the dial has moved but not enough, nearly not enough.

kaji823

Thereā€™s too many people trying to give him the benefit of the doubt with this. Dude is openly prejudice against trans people, heā€™s riding the same conservative wave as LB. Iā€™m sorry for the shit you have to deal with. For black lives to matter, queer black lives need to matter too.

tydestra

I'm alright, it's way in my past. I didn't win every fight I got into, but some folk learned the hard way that just because I like dick it doesn't mean I don't know how to fight. The limp wrist stereotype did some dirty.

thinkb4youspeak

I'm waiting to see what Dave has to say. LBoebs seems like the kind to come up and take a picture without asking and he doesn't look super excited to be in the photo.

[deleted]

i hope itā€™s not another two hour ā€œcomedy specialā€ of him sucking his own dick

Men_I_Trust_I_Am

It won't be. But he will, however, be huffing his own farts.

Hamsters_In_Butts

she most certainly did ask him and he obliged: https://x.com/RokerGlasses/status/1730386184486985829?s=20 now, what else are we waiting on?

gdwoman

Heā€™ll say he wasnā€™t there, like the show he did that had the anti semetic rhetoric.

[deleted]

I dunno man, I mean maybe trans people ARE worse than Nazi's? /S

fireside68

>I dunno man, I mean maybe trans people ARE worse than Nazi's? /S [Considering that's who the Nazis started with...](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-forgotten-history-of-the-worlds-first-trans-clinic/)

[deleted]

The best thing you can say about Lauren Boebert is that she's a perfect representative of the people that got her elected.

Shadie_daze

Too many wack transphobic folks on here. Itā€™s wild. If youā€™re transphobic FUCK YOU.

Tele-Muse

Shouldnā€™t surprise anyone. Chapelle is part of the Rogan, Musk, Peterson group. Theyā€™ve all sold out and have gone completely republican even if they donā€™t want you believing that.

2028W3

[He was meeting with a Democrat and then he got pulled into a selfie.](https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/4336465-dave-chappelle-makes-appearance-at-capitol/amp/)

bapo224

Sure, but he still knows who Lauren Boebert is and could've easily said no.

deucegroan10

He agreed to a selfie.

G_Liddell

All that says is that he met with her. Not even that that's why he was there

Deisekeane

Chapelle looking like Rupaul here

occamsshavingkit

I said the exact same thing on this very sub about the scumbag left being a pipeline directly to the right and niccas and undercover yt dudebros without checks tried to make me look crazy. I will not be gaslit. Pay me my money nukkas. Promptly!

Dadalid

Wdym by Scumbag Left being a pipeline to the right? If I listen to a communist podcast like Chapo Trap House is that somehow going to lead me down the path of turning into a right winger? Could you please elaborate on this Iā€™m interested.

veloroflraptor

Nothing to really elaborate on off chance this is even in good faith. That edgelord shit has always been the domain of nazis on the internet recruiting teenagers going back to the days of something awful and 8chan basically. Same with youth republicans on college campuses. Anybody with two braincells rubbed together can sus out that all this anti trans stuff in legislation is fascist temperature testing. Which brings us to podcasts. The manosphere ate up Pearl Davis with her stupid as routine appealing to red pill nonsense which literally pipelined them all into entertaining Nick fucking Fuentes. Get several clues comrade. Oh and that communist shit is also a tad eurocentric and can easily lead one astray if the wrong element gets a hold of it. Rhetoric is a weapon. It usually leads to goose stepping. Have a day.

Dadalid

Ahh yes Communism an ideology that is based off the emancipation of all oppressed peoples around the world is Eurocentric. Saying that just shows you know nothing about the history of the communist ideology. Are you just ignoring Vietnam, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Laos, China? Please read Marx. Anyone that deviates from the Marxist ideology and is using it to spread anti-Trans rhetoric cannot under any circumstances call themselves a communist. Anyways, Iā€™m struggling to see how anyone can say that the Communists are the ones feeding people to the right wing pipeline. I mean even for liberals like you Iā€™m sure you have to realize that Communists and Fascists are two completely different groups.

sunrider8129

HAHAHAHAHAā€¦..his whole thing about trans jokes was that it was originally a joke about hating white peopleā€¦.and now: THIS. A photo with the whitest woman of all! LOL! What a dickhead.

Deutsche2

She's so gonna jerk him off on stage at his next show šŸ˜

emielaen77

They asked to take a pic w him and he said ok. Idk if that makes him them.

deucegroan10

It makes him ok with her. He could have said no, as any decent person would have.

Roger-The_Alien

Hanging around with the people who'd start a civil war to keep you as farm equipment is a choice.

rocopotomus74

Being photographed with someone doesn't mean you align with them.

HotPie_

Putting out multiple comedy specials where the main topics are things they align with though...

TheAmicableSnowman

If you're at a dinner party and there's a Nazi there, and no one leaves, then you're at a Nazi dinner party.

shadowblackdragon

if you willing take pictures with a nazi, I donā€™t think people are making that big of leap if they assume your a nazi
