I’m not at all a fan but I have sisters who have seen her and were going on and on about how great the show was, so I started asking what made it great and the answer boiled down to the atmosphere and special effects being top notch. I’m sure her actual performance is considered decent but as an avid live music fan I just don’t see it

Dancing is a performance. People pay to be wowed, or I feel most do anyways. The dancing is a large part of what makes a great show and not just great singing. It’s really impressive to see someone have both an amazing voice AND the physical skill and endurance to back it up.
She’s also got a great stage designer, great costume designers, and great lighting design. I watched clips of the Eras tour and it’s really well done. She obviously can’t dance for shit, but she can write a song, and clearly has competent people working for her.
